“Philip Rivers Would Be A Heck Of A Trading Chip”

March 20th, 2015

PhilipRiversFaceIs stud franchise quarterback Philip Rivers on the trading block for the right draft pick?

Marcus Mariota is becoming a very hot commodity, explains Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. He listed five teams interested in pulling a Redskins-RGIII move and trading up with the Titans for the No. 2 overall pick in order to draft Mariota. (La Canfora penned an good piece. Feel free to click above.)

Of course, La Canfora assumes the Bucs will draft Jameis Winston at No. 1 overall.

But will they? That’s unclear, and Lovie Smith can’t be predicted when it comes to personnel.

There could be more teams looking for a shot at Mariota, per La Canfora, as the former Oregon QB impresses on the interview-workout circuit. He claims Rivers could be (is?) on the trading block. Rivers, 33, has never missed a start and is a true franchise QB coming off a strong season. The guy has won a ton of games.

Joe suspects legions of Bucs fans would jump at the chance to trade Tampa Bay’s No. 1 overall pick for Rivers. Joe’s not advocating that, but it’s much more intriguing than trading for Drew Brees.

You can enjoy La Canfora’s video take below.

Here comes the haters saying that this proves Mariota is better because no one wants Winston.

  5. OB Says:

I hope they don’t trade for him, he has about five good years at the most left and with our OL maybe one.

Why has Marcus become hot and Winston not?

  6. Armando Says:

Another old or getting older QB – 3-4 years and then done

Unplug the phone – Draft Winston

  7. Buc1987 Says:

We don’t want this guy he yells at WR’s and yells on the sidelines.

41 Days 7 hours and 55 minutes until we draft Jameis.

    Joe any thoughts?

  9. Buc1987 Says:

BFFL…my wife wants an Evans jersey?

    Wanna bet it’s Winston?

  10. Chef Paul Says:

I’m a huge Rivers fan. Even though every one agrees he’s good I still think he’s under rated. That said, I would be against a trade for him. Giving up the #1 pick should require a much younger player and/or be much closer to contention than we currently are. But you can’t have the #1 pick AND be close to contention. So that was needless to say.

  11. Buc1987 Says:

    By Bryan Fischer per NFL.com

On Wednesday’s “Path to the Draft,” analyst Brian Baldinger said several NFL players who played with Winston at Florida State called Winston a natural leader who showed those traits even when EJ Manuel was FSU’s starting quarterback and Winston was redshirting as a freshman.

Said Baldinger: “I think the perception is changing (as teams) get involved and interrogating the whole process.”

“Teams have spent a lot of money to dig into this,” Jeremiah said. “They’ve done their homework, and it’s cut and dry — either he’s on the board or off it. I’ve yet to have anybody tell me that he’s off their board.”

Who really does want the Porky rapist in Tampa?? Winston is slower than the Big Dog chasin a Miller Lite and is not deserving of the #1 pick!

Trade for anyone…Drew Brees..Phillip Rivers…Bryce Petty!! Trade the #1 pick for a HC that wants to WIN more than he wants the #1 pick…that ain’t the Love Handle!

Tom Brady is a Hall of Fame QB with a spotless record…but he slower than snot on a snowball…..yet Brady could still run circles around Poky Famous Jameis!

No matter who the Buc’s pick at #1, Tampa still has Lovie Smith as a HC which means another losing season….If you can’t win now…trade the pick to get a coach like they did when they brought in Chucky…..and stop it with all that nonsense that he won with Dungy’s team. Dungy could not win with Dungy’s team. Shoot, even Radio Raheem was a better HC than Lovie…not a winner…not a franchise HC, but better than Lovie.

TRADE WINSTON NOW!! or Let the Ram’s choke on those crab legs!!

    Greg Schiano

  14. Dean Says:

What if we traded our first for him and their first back. That might be a very interesting way to add a stud DE along with a pro bowl QB. Just sayin’………

  15. WS99 Says:

Winston is = to or > Rivers and he’s 10 years younger. These two look exactly alike on the FB field. Draft Winston and win a championship.

How many championships have rivers or Mariota won? I rest my case.

  16. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Phillip Rivers & Adrian Peterson

  17. bucs4lyfe Says:

they can trade for any quarterback they want as long as it doesn’t include this years 1st overall pick, I don’t care what they do next year but it’s beyond idiotic for a team with the worst record in the nfl to trade their first round pick for anybody especially someone over 30….Adrian Peterson, drew brees or rivers but if they have any ideas about it, the guy was born in Alabama so maybe he wants to come back to the south to end his career

  18. HawaiianBuc Says:

I’ve never been a big Rivers fan. He’s a good QB, but he is very prone to making stupid mistakes. That pick 6 he threw to Leonard Johnson may have been the worst throw I’ve ever seen in a football game. He’s also a little long in the tooth. However one thing I’ve learned by being a Bucs fan my whole life is that you should never underestimate how stupid of a decision we can make.

  19. Buc1987 Says:

Why bother anymore for the next 41 days? The pick is in and it’s Jameis, but you guys stay in here and debate it for the next 41 days.

You guys have fun. I’m seriously taking a loooooooong break from posting.

See ya when I see ya.

  24. WS99 Says:

He’s also 30+ and never won anything significant in his life even with teams full of probowlers.

  25. The Buc Realist Says:

I rather stick with Glennon and draft a backup QB in the 5th round

  26. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @WS99

Since Marty –They’ve never had a good defense

  27. bucrightoff Says:

Rivers is right on the edge of top 5 QB, and we know he and VJax would work well together, so not a strecth to assume he can do the same with Evans. We know he knows how to get the tight end involved. And we know he can make clutch throws with the game on the line. He still probably has a good 4-5 years left.

Rivers + San Diego’s 1st this year and 1st (though likely 2nd from their perspective) next year is very intriguing. People can say “but we can draft a younger guy”, and while that’s true, we’re talking about a proven commodity versus a total risk. Philip Rivers right now is undeniably a top 10 QB and a borderline top 5 guy. Mariota/Winston may never get there. Straight up #1 for Rivers no, but add a bit more and it gets interesting.

  28. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Joe we need a draft party

    **ALL KEYBOARD WARRIORS INVITED

  29. Jeagan1999 Says:

Rivers is a very good/great QB…has a bit of a weird throwing motion, but he’s made it work…but I don’t think trading for him is necessarily the right move. With our offensive (literally) line, he’d be pounded into the ground by week 4 and spend the rest of the year on IR…unless extra pick are thrown in to beef up the protection. The other thing is, as some have already pointed out, that Rivers is definitely on the “back 9” of his career. Maybe he plays 3-4 more years at a high level, but it’s no guarantee.

I certainly wouldn’t sneeze at a guy with the skills and resume that Rivers brings to the table, but I worry that without a good O-line in front of him, are we just exchanging one problem for another? If we could get some extra picks out of it….maybe.

  30. mike30#1bucfan Says:

The only thing franchise about him is his BIG A** MOUTH!!

  31. Just draft a QB already Says:

Hey Greg Schiano get your toes on the line Brady is slower then Winston. Winston ran a 4.97 and Brady 5.28 at combine.

  32. Couch Fan Says:

5 years ago maybe. You dont trade the #1 pick for a 30+ year old player. Ridiculous.

  33. Patrick in VA Says:

Ya know, he may not be the youngest guy on the block but if he has 4 or 5 years of playing at the level that he’s been at and he can play those years in Tampa, I would be happy to give a #1 for that. You’re using your #1 pick for a guy that you want to be a big difference maker on your team. Using that to get Rivers would be the best usage of a 1st round pick that we’ve done in a long time. We don’t know that either of these QBs will be good in this league. We know that Rivers has been really good already and we’ll be able to plug him in and play right off the bat. In the meantime, we’ll be able to actually groom a younger QB behind him. Think about it, we might actually be able to function the way that successful franchises do and have players developing in the background while we have legit players on the field. I would run to the phone to make that trade.

  34. theodore Says:

Why do other team fan bases assume teams in the top of draft want their mediocre QB?

  35. bucs4lyfe Says:

your so bitter no one can take your posts seriously, get over your hate for lovie and take the emotion out of your posts and maybe you’ll eventually you’ll get around to something that could be considered close to a fact.

    Greg Schiano
    Career Record: 11 Years, 68-67, .504 Pct.

You should have never gotten an NFL head coaching job in the first place, of course the bucs had to be the one and still for the glazers it was like being at the bar and getting shut down by the hot girl (chip Kelly) and settling for the tipsy girl who’d go home with anybody

lovie had one year and your saying Radio Raheem was a better HC than Lovie lol well I don’t remember you doing much better mr. meltdown in the 4th quarter with the biggest coaching staff in the nfl still cant get more than 7 wins getting fired for wasting all the glazers money kinda coach is what you are

  36. Buccfan37 Says:

If the chargers want to get rid of Rivers, then I hope the Bucs are’nt buying. This is starting to seem like desperation, nearly every other player potentially not wanted by their team end up on the Bucs fantasy dream list. This team must be really hard up grasping at any name that someone thinks might improve their fortunes.

  37. Couch Fan Says:

So you think its a good idea, to take somebody else’s old QB that they dont want anymore and let them have the young guy that we want? Lol… perfect logic.

  38. Couch Fan Says:

I want to win as much as anybody but this sillyness needs to stop.

  39. NJBucsFan Says:

We already have a good NC State QB that is much younger

  40. Jack Says:

Winston is the top pick for the BUCS…period. Now, let’s decide which OT, OG and DE we will draft after FA.

    Lovie Smith

Radio Raheem was a better HC was a better coach than you too. It would have been ok if you were just a sorry excuse for a coach, we’re used to that around here lately but you got fired not only for losing but going out spending all the Glazers money, losing worse after spending to the cap

Shameis (the next tenant for the Orient Street Hotel) is probably not the face the Glazers want to be their face of the franchise. It just might be MM, and that would be sweet to see ….

  46. StPeteBucsFan Says:

Marcus is not hot and Winston not. Get a grip! These are two outstanding PROSPECTS. Each has their supporters here. It’s absurd for either side to pimp their guy by trying to denigrate the one they don’t like.

It’s a freaking silly season now. My head is getting whiplash. Yesterday or the day before we heard that Marcus was dropping because he intereviewed poorly.

    Then today…

There could be more teams looking for a shot at Mariota, per La Canfora, as the former Oregon QB impresses on the interview-workout circuit.

OK for some real fun for those who have too much time on their hands. Somebody should keep a chart of all the conflicting reports some of them 180 degrees opposite of each other.

The ONLY thing that would truly disturb me is if we use that #1 overall pick on anybody but one of the QB’s or a significant trade that lands multiple RGIII type multiple picks.

It’s either Fameis…Marcus…or a boatload of picks but NO linemen with the #1!

  47. Bucs_Sam Says:

    So a little recap.

Eagles are trying to get Mariota, via some trades.

San Diego is trying to trade Rivers to get Mariota.

Cleveland is trying to trade anything anyone will take to get Mariota.

Tenn is working out Mariota, wants him too.

Rams are rumored are trying to come up with a scheme to trade up for Mariota

New Orleans is tinkering with the idea of trading Brees to get to Mariota..

Begs the question, why aren’t teams falling over themselves trying to figure out how to get Winston?

Don’t cha think Tampa would take Rivers or Brees over Winston? I bet they would, it’s just the I don’t think the phone is ringing…..

Just a little thought to make you go Hmmmmmm

  48. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Get rivers and DJ Fluker from Chargers and their #1, they should do this in a nano second…….then you get DJ Humphries or the La’eil Collins, you then solidify the OL, and then get the edge rusher in 2nd round….that would be a heck of a coup

  49. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Something to think about–Since we’re on the topic of unproven College QB’s playing on stacked rosters.

    Question:

    When was the last time…

(Concerning the NCAA National Championship Game)

A Quarterback From either the (Winning Team) or (Losing TEAM)

    WON anything in the NFL?????

  50. Makie Lovie Says:

It isnt a matter who is better now – before the draft, it is who will be better after the draft. If we draft one guy the other guy will automatically become the better QB. Just like how they always become better when they leave here (Josh Freeman excluded).
It is the Bucs DNA – no mater which Qb we pick, it will be the wrong one.

I say we just draft or trade for a top kick-off return specialist and a world class field goal kicker, then we dont have to worry about the offensive line, or who is quarterback. They just need to only get us to the 50 yard line and the center of the field… (FSU has pretty good kicker)

  51. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Or this could all be BS to get Chip Kelly and the Eagles to trade up and unload draft picks

  52. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    OB Says:
    March 20th, 2015 at 12:04 pm

I hope they don’t trade for him, he has about five good years at the most left and with our OL maybe one.

Why has Marcus become hot and Winston not?
    ———-
No one expects Winston to be available after the #1 pick and the chance of the Bucs trading away an opportunity to draft a franchise QB is highly unlikely. So this along with the speculation that a lot of teams with early draft picks aren’t completely sold on Mariota and will more than likely pass on drafting him opens up the opportunity for other teams with a later draft position to trade up and draft him. Most teams don’t even think they have a snowball’s chance in #@&* of getting Winston so that’s why you don’t hear the trade up for Winston talk.

  54. Zam Says:

He seems young for some reason, but he’s 33 years old. That’s too old to give away a possible franchise QB, even at the #2 overall spot.

And why does everyone want to trade up for MM, but not a single team that I know of wants to trade up to snag Jameis Aynuss?

  55. LUVMYBUCS Says:

I’ll spot you 45 years to be fair (Since the 1970 NFL Merger)

  56. meh Says:

We couldn’t possibly this stupid, could we?

  57. Sick of the debate Says:

    Keep the pick, draft Winston.

Rivers is an exceptional QB. But what exactly has he ever accomplished besides racking up stats? He belongs where he is. So leave him there.

Winston has a much higher ceiling IMO. Trade that pick and it will haunt the team for years, the guys who hate Winston will even see it.

  58. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

When Luck came out no one was trying to trade for him because there was no chance that the colts would trade that pick so RG3 became the hot commodity. If the Bucs decided to draft MM and let it be known you would see every team that needs a QB and some looking to the future try to trade up to get him. But if it makes the MM crowd feel good then go for it guy’s.

  59. iamkingsu Says:

The crazy thing is if Mariota goes number 1 its no way in hell the titans are trading that pick

  60. Pickgrin Says:

Rivers is a top 10 QB. He is 33 years old and makes $17M this year.

Winston just turned 21 and will make $5M per year for the next 4-5 years.

IMO – Winston is going to be a better QB than Rivers has been. He will just be coming into his prime about the same time that Rivers is done in the NFL.
No way do you trade away the opportunity to have a QB as talented as Jameis Winston. No way no how.

This is why there is so little talk of teams trying to trade up to get Winston. They know that it is pointless to even hope for Winston because the Bucs are not going to deal away the chance at a generational QB talent.

  61. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

MM will be a good QB in this league you can book it but as a back up and maybe a starter when he’s older for a franchise. He’s not ready and needs a lot of development not just a year but multiple years. Teams have passed over a lot of QB’s in drafts because they didn’t fit what they were looking for because leading college young men is different from leading grown men who know what it takes to be successful in the NFL.

  62. ADown88 Says:

I don’t know why it is so hard for people to understand that teams know the Bucs are taking Winston. When you hear reports about teams trying to shop guys or move up to get Mariota, it’s because they know Winston is already gone.

Also, moving up to #1 to get Winston would be impossible because the price would be so outrageous. You don’t ever hear anyone specifically offering the Bucs anything because when a team wants a guy and needs a guy, they are taking that guy. Teams know they can get Mariota for cheaper, because they wont need to trade to #1 overall, and there are teams right after the Bucs without a QB need, so they will be more willing to move.

  63. iamkingsu Says:

The titans would trade the pick if its mariota there at 2 but not the other way around and this isn’t even up for debate

  64. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Some qb’s hit the league and flame out because certain skills aren’t developed or honed. Right now MM can only fit in the eagles system or a team that primarily runs something similar. Other than that he will be a bust if he goes to another team because they will want him to fit their scheme right away because he’s going to a bad team. You can’t compare him to successful qb’s because like him because they all have charisma and know how to lead grown men.

The folks who want MM to play for the Bucs don’t want the Bucs/MM to succede because he doesn’t fit and is not ready causing the Bucs to have more loosing seasons. Those who want MM to do well want him to fall to the eagles or chip to trade up to get him.

  65. Johnny Dejay Says:

In order to be worthy of being traded for the #1 overall pick, a current player must be a QB, young, proven, have upside remaining, and be clearly better than Winston/Mariota going into the 2015 season. Here is a list of players that are worthy to be traded for the #1 overall pick:

    1) Andrew Luck.

That’s it. (And Indy would be crazy to give him up for an unproven rookie.)

Brady, both Mannings, Rothleisberger, Rogers, Rivers, Romo, Palmer, and Brees are excellent players, but they will be long retired by the time the Bucs are able to rebuild this roster into something respectable.

Stafford, RG3, Bradford, Ryan, Kapernick, Wilson, Newton, etc. just aren’t good enough and don’t have much upside.

Bortles, Manzeil, Bridgewater, and Carr aren’t proven enough. Plus, the Bucs could have had any of them last year.

Other NFL teams’ fans should put down their crack pipes. The Bucs will take Winston or Mariota because there just isn’t enough compensation out there to offset the Franchise QB potential of these men.

  66. Youpeoplearesodumb Says:

Ok, this applies to all you simpletons that dont know when it is THERE or THEIR. If you are referring to a draft pick we may want from them it is THEIR pick. For example, we want their 1st round pick. If you want to send a draft pick to the other team then it would be: we are sending a 4th round pick over there as compensation.

Study hard and then you may be ready for they’re or to, too and two.

  67. LUVMYBUCS Says:

There been a bunch of system QB’s w/ great numbers, a lot of buzz–turnout to be bust

    • Todd Blackledge
    • Tim Couch
    • Joey Harrington
    • Andre Ware
    • Jack Thompson
    • Heath Shuler
    • Jeff George
    • JaMarcus Russell
    • David Klingler
    • David Carr

  68. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

Mariota right now is kordel stewart when he first came out (just soft spoken) or the cat that was drafted by the vikings and let go. There will be no looking to the sidelines for every play w/ the BUCS or running shotgun 98% percent of the time.

  69. Nick2 Says:

I am tired of old quarterbacks whose best days were in another city. So lets stay with the franchise quarterback we will grow with from the ground up. Jameis Winston come on down!!!!!!!!!!

  70. Newbucsfan!!! Says:

This is why MGM can’t succeed because he panic’s and doesn’t have the speed to run when he dosen’t want to throw. And why he ran out of bounds in a game instead of going for the first down. Now some on here love MG and he needed development. How much time will Mariota need?

  71. Jeagan1999 Says:

Any QB that another team would want to trade is most likely going to be a guy on the backside of his career (Rivers, Palmer, Brees), or a younger guy who has yet to show that he can be “the” guy(RGIII or Kaepernick, maybe). You don’t see the Colts, Falcons, Raven, Packers, Seahawks rushing to make this kind of deal! Wish they would….Matt Ryan or Aaron Rodgers would look great in red and pewter!

If the Bucs were closer to making a title run, I think it (Rivers trade) might be a consideration. But let’s face it…this team is still several years from contention. We need a lot more than just a QB…O-line, DE’s, MLB, Safety, nickel Corner and depth all around. In the short term a big name QB trade might get us a few extra wins, but that will only last for a couple of seasons, and then we are right back where we started. Draft Mariota or Winston, or trade down for more picks and rebuild both lines with Glennon at QB. I think either of those is better than trading for a guy like Rivers!

Now if Atlanta’s new Head Coach would like to get his hands on Winston or Mariota and send Matt Ryan our way….deal! But that aint gonna happen!

  72. Barry Says:

    Glazers would go for that.

Rivers is not on the backside of his career. He is 33 years old. He has anywhere from 5-7 good years left. This is a no-brainer. Trade the number 1 pick for Rivers and their number 2. You’d have to be an idiot to think that either Jamies or Marcus is a sure bet. Even Joe knows that and has said it.

  79. Erik with CleanAthletics.com Says:

I would much rather have Rivers at the helm than Winston. But, it’s a tough call if I’d take Rivers over Mariota… Obviously, Rivers is a more proven commodity; but Mariota’s potential for perennial success is just so high. I actually think I’d take a few growing pains for the longterm success potential of Mariota.

  80. D.E.P. Says:

I believe the chatter of all these teams possibly trading up to get MM has more to do with the fact that they truly believe the Bucs are a near lock to take Winston.

They’re under the belief there is no way we wouldn’t draft Winston.

Rivers n their 2nd for #1 all day

bucs4lyfe schiano had this club going in the right direction and they was a direction and the team played good Defense, this lovie squad and organization is lousy and has no direction and will be lucky to go 4-12 in 2015

Not sure what world you live in where 7-9 -> 4-12 is considered the right direction.

Why bother anymore for the next 41 days? The pick is in and it’s Jameis, but you guys stay in here and debate it for the next 41 days.

You guys have fun. I’m seriously taking a loooooooong break from posting.

See ya when I see ya.

I’m almost starting to feel the same way.

Its the same thing over and over in the comments section. There really is no point in trying to argue about it anymore. I’ll just wait till the draft and then come here to rejoice. I’ll most likely just watch the comments section and only respond if I feel the need to or if someone posts something completely wrong.

People are going to believe what they want to believe. Lovie could come out tomorrow and say, “We’ve signed JW to a contract and expect him to be our opening day starter”. I guarantee people would still find a way to doubt or deny.

Whatever. It’ll be interesting to see how many new usernames are on these here comments section on draft day. I might even keep a tally of what people here vehemently spoke ill of JW and see which names all of a sudden show up professing their love for our new QB.

    Oh well.

I’m looking forward to the day someone spray paints an I on the stadium.

I’m with you Buc1987. I find myself turning off local sports radio in the afternoon more and more (apart from the Joe Bucs Fan Hour of Power on Tuesday) because of this inane debate between Winston and Mariota. It’s Winston and unless he does something off the wall or reckless the debate is over. If the Bucs are drafting a QB the best QB in the draft is Jameis Winston. That’s not even debatable.

  85. MadMax Says:

lol, “Jameis” Stadium….winning with WINston! Could there be more signs he’s our #1 fit here?!?

  86. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

Now people are getting cheesy haha.

  87. MadMax Says:

@LUV “Joe we need a draft party **ALL KEYBOARD WARRIORS INVITED”

If ddneast comes, I AM FKN GAME! It’ll be a drive but Im only about 11 hrs from Tampa baby, lol.

  88. ndog Says:

You people wondering why teams aren’t trying to trade up for Jameis are funny. The answer is clear they all know he is clearly the best player and will be gone after pick 1. Why pine for someone that you know you cannot get?

  89. ndog Says:

Erik I can’t wait to see you post on April 30th at 815ish. You are going to be so disappointed.

  90. Eric377 Says:

I have to laugh. Just days ago Mariota’s pro day was so “mediocre” that some were predicting the Eagles might be able to get him at 20 without a trade-up. Tennessee probably should look very hard at trades, but not Rivers. Bucs won’t trade, that’s why not a lot of talk about who wants Winston. That seems too settled right now. My guess is that is not going to be like Luck and RGIII where a few seasons later it will be perfectly clear what the better choice was. They will both do well I think. But I think QBs deeper in the draft are going to do well also.

  91. Connor Says:

Bucs fans are so dumb, that they would not trade for a proven Drew Brees or Philip Rivers over drafting a quarterback; a position that they have NOT ONCE HIT ON in their entire 40 year history as a franchise!!!!

  92. ndog Says:

Connor your statement proves you know nothing about football.

  93. ddneast Says:

    Franchise QB?
How manySuper Bowl rings does he have.
What is his record in the playoffs. For that matter I can’t remember the last time Rivers was in the playoffs.
    Franchise QB?
More like Tony Romo’s AFC twin.

  94. grafikdetail Says:

why would someone waste their time pursuing Winston when the consensus is he’ll be the #1 pick…which mean Mariotta could go #2 but most likely will start dropping… which is why the rumors are circling about him & not winston…

  95. Mr. T Says:

How about we take the Rivers trade then draft Brett Hundley to sit be hind him and develop. If Lovie wants to win now he might consider something like that.

  96. nick Says:

Winston and mariotta are this years Akili Smith and Joey Harrington, we don’t need another josh freeman. fsu fans stop trying to jam this guy down our throats.

  97. Phillip Says:

    @ddneast

He was in the playoffs last season.. Watch football much?

  98. Phillip Says:

    2013**

  99. Phillip Says:

4-5 in playoffs… The Chargers just missed out on the playoffs in 2014 by losing the last game of the season to the Chiefs..

But ya he’s not a Franchise QB.. Guessing Dan Marino or Jim Kelly aren’t Franchise QB’s because they didn’t win a SB.. Andrew Luck must not be either since he hasn’t won one yet and is 3-3 in the playoffs.
