One More Day

Joe’s here again at Lucas Oil Stadium in snowy Indianapolis for the final day for media at this winter’s NFL Scouting Combine.
Joe decided to come in a little later today, and it seems most others did to, or simply already bolted out of town.
(It is 20+ degrees warmer this morning than yesterday. Getting a cab was impossible because there is a downtown marathon — in the snow! — which totally snarled traffic (as if the snow wasn’t a deterrent), so Joe hoofed it. It actually was rather pleasant with no wind and seeing everything buried under a white blanket.
The media room is library quiet if not sleepy. Haven’t seen a player at a podium, yet. Most of the TV and radio networks, save for BSPN and SiriusXM NFL Radio, have evacuated.
The combine is expected to close late this afternoon for media with the annual address from the great Mike Mayock.
Of course, Joe will bang out some stories. The quarterbacks throw today. Like you, Joe will watch on one of the many TVs in the media workroom, as only a handful of reporters are allowed to watch activities on the field for short periods of time.

Yeah they have to keep you off the field Joe because it would be difficult for Winston to do drills while your hanging all over his jock

Was Joe drinking heavily last night? Check your calender Joe. This is not the last day of the combine. It goes until Monday! Or is it just that when Winston is done with his work, you consider the combine to be over???? Stay hot dude. You are supposed to be a legit reporter here.

Another day of pro propaganda for Winston, eh Joe. Glad the Bucs didn’t listen to you last year when you wanted the “buzz” for drafting Manzell. If the Bucs had done that, we would all be in rehab with Johnny Football right now.

No kidding. I was hoping on a longshot you might take the Winston hint just a bit. Can’t blame a guy for trying…see you at the draft in Chicago Joe. You should be easy to locate. You and Reynolds will be the only 2 guys sitting in the media section wearing Winston jerseys. I’ll be sure to say hello. Stay warm.

Last note Joe, regardless of me taking a couple of Winston shots at you, I am a regular visitor to this site and have been for quite some time. I think you do a great job covering this team. If you do make it to the windy city for the draft, it would be good to hook up with you and buy you a beer and talk some Bucs football. Consider it a standing offer (albeit from an ass). But its legit. And even if they draft Winston, I will throw in a celebratory shot as well. Just pick between Jack Daniels or a fireball! I just hope they get the pick right regardless who it is. We need a QB bad. McCown and Big Bird killed me last year….olive branch extended..travel safe.
