Anyone see the manziel news? Had a big party Friday night and security had to find him to bring him to Saturday’s practice. Can you imagine if we would have spent the 7th pick on him? No mike Evans and needing to draft another qb. This is the reason we cannot use the 1st or second overall pick on Winston. Too much risk.

I just seen a 12 hundred voted poll on should we win or lose to the saints and it is 986 votes not to win 82% vs 212 that think we should win 18%, Pretty obvious to most fans the number one pick is what we need.. now lets see how the game plays out..

IMO Winston has a lot more talent than manziel. The first overall pick does not come along everyday. We need to be very careful. I’m still in favor of trading down. I don’t like mariota’s pro potential and Winston scares me to death.

How is Lovie not on the hot seat? Our team is worse in every phase of the game when compared to last year.The offense is offensive. The defense was the worst I have ever seen (but is getting “better”). Why does Lovie even get credit for that? He made the defense a 1,000x worse first. Remember Thursday night at Atlanta? How about the Raven destruction? You shouldn’t get any credit for destroying something then only building back to close to where it was the previous year. I have been a Bucs fan for 20yrs and I can’t remember a season with such poor punting or so many blocked punts and FG’s. We have a shot at the #1 pick. THE ONLY SILVER LINING that can be put on this season. I bet Lovie will squander that opportunity too. Then with #2 pick he will reach for a “Anthony Collins” or a “Michael Johnson”. You know “Lovie Smith GAMECHANGERS that this team sorely needs cause we already have a starting quarterback.

As a coach, wouldn’t it be beneficial to treat this as a preseason game? No risk of injuring a star, can evaluate 2nd and third stringers (the bucs have signed a lot of players this year), and the its the only scenario where a loss HELPS the team. Not an individual player but a higher draft pick should(barring Lovie’s incompetence at talent evaluation) help the team.

As his ankle continues to heal I”m beginning to see some great flashes out of Sims. He’s much shiftier than Martin and is a good complimentary runner to him. Now get Michael James into beast mode…love to see a 6-3 228 lbder taking it to defenses ala Marshawn Lynch. We could have a very good three headed monster with Bobby Rainey returning kicks and serving as depth.

Ill be honest here and trying to be objective as an FSU alumni, but Jameis gets me the most pumped up for next season. I think Marriotta can be really good in the pro’s, although it would be a bit of first for his style of QBing, but I think Jameis can really be a Ben R if he matures quickly. Jameis HATES losing and he’s a tough sucker on the field. I think that will wins games at the QB position by iteslf. I almost think if we win and pick #2 we may end up with Winston anyway because i think Marriota is trending to #1 with the off field cleanliness and what not. Lot will tell between now and April though or whenever the draft is these days!

I don’t like Lovie because he has a history of mediocrity on offense. He has never hired a good OC or picked a NFL caliber QB to start for his teams. The NFL is changing and offense is the future. Defenses have been handcuffed and will continue to be under the guise of “player safety”. Yes he put together a good defense prior to the the “don’t touch an offensive skill player too hard” rules were fully in effect. This is a new NFL and a team has to consistently score 22+ pts a game to have a chance at winning it all. Lovie has never been able to do that and he has 11yrs to look at.

Now just draft Mariota or trade the pick to Chip Kelly for a huge return. A Jameis Winston pick will set this franchise back another decade. There has NEVER been a QB who has had big success at the NFL level – maybe Brad Johnson – look at EJ Manuel.
