Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion James Winston, the pride of Florida State University, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.
It’s Joe’s daily nugget on the Jameis Watch, celebrating the best quarterback to wear No. 5 ever in the state of Florida.
Yahoo! and other media outlets raised an eyebrow over the Sports Illustrated regional magazine covers rolled out this week featuring coverage of the inaugural college football playoff teams.
Can you explain the difference?
Joe gets those who are bitter about it, but Joe can’t claim this is some sort of conspiracy against Jameis, though it probably was. Sports Illustrated did put his photo on the cover, so why not go all the way?

Maybe they don’t believe that Winston is a reason they are there. Defense and Cook helped the team win several times and build them selves out of a hole the Winston helped put them in. Agreed though if you are going to go with a generic front cover than make it all the same.

If you had players like that sure, but the game is played differently now. You can’t go out there and hit someone. Those guys were cocky and knew they were the best. They played like winners. I’m not sure you can get that mentality here.
I saw an interesting post about the way of the NFL. The though was that since you draw a penalty probably 80% of the time when you hit the QB then it should just be “Two-Hand” touch on the QB when they are in the passing position. This way there is no problem and knowing when they are down and they don’t get hit. If they run they are a ball carrier.

So Love and Warrick, by just going by wins then we should draft the entire FSU team in the 1st round because none of them have lost. They have all done nothing but win. They have all come from behind and won games. They are all the best and they all need to go in the 1st round.
So let’s see. Jameis at #1, WR at #2, then what? Should we go with the lineman and defensive players the rest of the time. Cook can go #1 next year.

It was 3 picks in the first quarter, and one in the third quarter. Need me to list them for you?
So, enjoy those 3 first half interceptions. Savor them like a fine wine. I will enjoy the Noles win over UF, again.

We will know a little more at about 8pm on January 1st. But, ultimately, it will be a good 3-4 more years before we truly know who is the better pro. There are no stats that will show I’m correct, anymore than that show that you are correct. In fact, they both might not be great pros.
All I can say is, we will see. And, if I’m wrong, I will come back and admit. We all know some people on here will not.
Jameis could win Super Bowls for the Bucs and never get in trouble again, and some people will still bash him and that’s sad, but, it’s reality.

Are you trying to tell me that Muschamp had no film in 2013, after he played 11 games before traveling to Gainseville to whoop that arse?
There was 44 quarters of football on film, and he went 19-31 for 327, 3 td/ 1 int, and won 37-7.
Eventually, they might gather enough film to beat him. Good luck with that.
It’s funny, as bad as Gatrbuc makes Winston sound, you would think we were talking about a 5th round pick. But, in reality, he will go top 5, and possibly number one overall.
What’s funnier is we are avoiding discussing the dumpster fire that has become UF football. Good luck vs. East Carolina. LOL.

Back to the U. A former player commented that “they recruit US to play college fb” inferring that programs draft street kids (PC for drug dealers) bc it gives them an edge. Apparently the teams in the 90 had several criminals on the team.
UM has earned their rep for being “bad boys” from rough backgrounds but look at how many HOFs and 1st rnd draft picks they’ve had, more than fsu or uf I’m sure.
Can we get some not so nice guys on this roster? Please! I’m sure I sound like a complete idiot but that’s what 6wins – 26 loses does to a fan. After 56-0 in the 3rd something must have snapped.

I hear ya. If we could get some nasty players on Defense and some cockiness that would be great. I’m not so worried about people who do drugs in the NFL or what not, but when you are alleged for rape then that is different. That is a reason why I don’t like Big Ben. Any who…..I think the U will make a comeback now that the restrictions and bans are gone. They can get back to Miami ball.

That’s just the 2000’s. To Lovies credit he did draft Greg Olsen not exactly the prototype UM player (if you know what I mean) but nevertheless. He’s not cocky like shockey that’s what I mean, lol.

Joe! You’re missing the fact that those covers are GREAT for Winston. While they highlight the running prowess and athleticism of the other players (particularly Mariotta), they show Winston’s true strength as a pro-style pocket, passer. At first glance before I noticed the names that’s what I immediately took as the difference between the picturess.

Winston brings swagg to the whole team, they will rally behind him and will take on the bad guy role together. Teams will want to hurt Winston after the play and the o-line will snap and start cut blocking. The defense will play to inflict pain on everybody, that,s the type of team I want to see. “Us against the World” mentality, talk about one and you talk about us all- that strikes fear my friends. A wr likes making highlight plays every game, well the Bucs will give NFL network a highlight of you being broke off across the middle by LD & Mike Nice. CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winston’s coming into this league feeling slighted by people and the media and will have something to prove. This will hype Tampa fans & media up seeing how the Bucs are booed at every away game and insulted but cheered at home causing a big home field advantage. The National media will want to interview every player on the Bucs except for Winston. Even aft he throws for 3 td’s w/ a game winning drive causing the other Buc players to give short interviews with short answers. And watch the cities of those teams go ape sh!? when the Bucs beat their team and watch their message boards light up! MIAMI HEAT all over again

The real reason is a legal not lawful one…and those that dont no the difference wont get this…but thats not his name missing…its a public corporation …we do not right our names in all caps ….so if a name is on there that way …someone can try to sue the magazine and JW if they feel like it…..which is doubtful since it came out from his lawyer they tried to extort him for 7 mil …and they “would never here from us again” smh no bueno if your the injured party IN LAW …..not AT LAW

We are the only ones obsessing about Jameis right now. He’s local. We need a QB. There is an obvious connection.
He’s been a huge story on and off the field. Wait until the draft actually appoaches and people have nothing more to focus on but the draft. A lot of football fans are still watching football games. We’re Buc fans and so we’re talking draft.
Wait until that’s all anybody has to talk about! TMZ and the rest will be out there scouring Tallahassee for any old video or juicy tidbits about Jameis. Everything you’re reading here is just a preview of what’s going to happen when this story blows up nationally.

Why does it say the other players’ names in the case for spot, and for Jameis’ cover it says fsu. I hope Jameis wins the national title for the state of Florida I was born and raised in (gator fan, usf alum). I hope he becomes a top 10 qb in the NFL, preferably for US.
