Mind-Numbing Impotence
December 24th, 2014Not only do the Bucs have a shot at the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2015, the Bucs are in striking distance of consecutive seasons owning the worst-ranked offense in the NFL.
Last year, Mike Glennon and friends were ranked 32nd in the NFL, a debacle many blamed on the offensive line.
This season, the Bucs are ranked 31st, just ahead of the Raiders, who have nowhere near the receiving talent. By Joe’s calculation, if the Raiders gain 80 more yards than the Bucs on Sunday, then the Bucs will take home the dubious distinction of back-to-back impotence.
Considering Tampa Bay will have two 1,000-yard receivers, and drafted all offense in 2014, this would be an achievement for the ages.
Yeah, yeah, Lovie, it’s not Josh McCown’s fault.

Sir, you don’t get to misrepresent Joe and flat out lie. Sorry. If Joe must babysit your comments for malicious drivel, then Joe will ban you. Joe has no interest in wasting time and prefers to devote his time to covering the Bucs. –Joe

this just proves mccown is worse than any rookie we could have played. Dam don’t you wish we had a young rookie qb on our roster to develop and mold into the qb of the future. If we only had a guy like that we would be so better off.
December 24th, 2014 at 12:48 pm
There was no misrepresentation nor malicious content in my post…of course it can not be seen now to debate and defend…Joe don’t insult your readers…

This is why I want the Glazers to simply take the offense away from Lovie.
Call Lovie and Licht in behind closed doors and have Licht begin a search for candidates that represent the most innovative, creative minds in the NFL. Guys with a track record of success.
In order to get an OC of that magnitude the Glazers and licht will have to promise the new OC the world…as in…the new OC gets to pick the QB….as in the new OC gets to design the offense without any input from Lovie. Dungyball is dead!!! Stop with the 17-14 games and start winning 38-28.
If Lovie is smart he’d actually be relieved. If he accepted this the onus for the offense would totally fall on the new OC’s head. Lovie would easily get a 3rd year if the defense played as well as it did the second half this year.

#Sigh# Am I the only one who misses Schiano after looking at that pic?
December 24th, 2014 at 1:12 pm
2-1000yd receivers on a 31st ranked offense. Just shows how the league rules have made it more of a passing game. That’s why I take all these passing records set over the last five years with a huge grain of salt, at least compared to the passers of the past. The passing game rules were much harder for receivers and passers to accomplish those records. Today its practically throw and catch exercises.

Man I actually miss Schiano right now. I have pretty strong feeling we would be in the playoffs with Schiano here for one more year. I actually thought he did a gret job of keeping the team together and getting wins from a ROOKIE QB! Teams don’t win with rookie QBs, you can go back to Peyton , Luck, etc… We are playng in the worst divison in NFL HISTORY and we are the worst of the bunch. That’s real bad.
Surprisngly I wish we still had Schiano on this team. Crazy eh? Oh and that’s crazy we were ranked in the top 10 in offense in 2012. That is amazing. The coaches with Schiano had the ability to take them there. Only wish they would have been given one more year to prove it.

Lovie stepped in with his savior McCown thinking what a genius they both are. It blew up in their faces and the smoke has yet to clear. Thanks Lovie, I knew you had bust written all over you and at first cringed at your hire. It’s been all downhill as you have revealed your lack of knowledge when it comes to coaching football. Totally blase, you are there but don’t seem to be all there.
December 24th, 2014 at 1:34 pm
I miss Mike Sullivan, His offense looked really great compared to these weekly 120 yard explosions of offense from the minds of McCown, and Arroyo!

Joe…you have NO way of members contacting you other than posting on this blog….you however have every registered members email address you could contact about whatever you deem “malicious, misrepresented, flat out lie”…the increasing amount of BOLD FACE type from the Joes ….should give you a clue another avenue for exchange is needed….yeah..we have heard your “don’t want to be bothered” stance….this is a business that is based on inviting members in…if this was a resturant ….a customer offers up honest criticism or complaint….out comes the bouncer….is this your business model ?

A Box of rocks as our head coach would have us at 2-13

No Sam I agree based on Schiano”s body of work with Tampa verses Lovie”s Schiano did the vastly superior coaching job. Schiano did more with less. I live in California so my access to the pulse of Tampa is limited. One thing I don’t see mentioned is how much harder Schiano’s schedule was when comparing the two. If there was a year nfc south was very winnable this was the year. Sadly in such a year Lovie found a way to end up with the worst record in the nfl (With one game to play the Bucs could surge into second worse). If nothing else look at the number of back-up qbs we played. My friends are all knowledgeable football fans from five different teams and all agree on one thing Lovie is the MOST overrated coach in the nfl. I do put it in perspective it’s entertainment and that’s all with no ill wishes towards anyone. I hope I’m wrong and Lovie turns it around. Oh yea, I hope I win the lottery too but don’t have the faith to play.

We are barely of the 1,000 yd mark for rushing. Of course we aren’t going to have many yards. Again, that would be on the O-LINE. Was before and still is now.
December 24th, 2014 at 2:19 pm
Also, New Orleans is #1 in YDS so they have the #1 offense, yet they can’t even win their own division.
December 24th, 2014 at 2:22 pm
New Orleans and Atlanta have the 31st and 32nd defensive teams in the NFL.
December 24th, 2014 at 2:25 pm
@Sam… I agree, in fact I have been telling my wife for weeks that we made a BIG mistake trading Greg Schiano for lovie the lovable liar!! There is No doubt in my mind that we would have won the NFC South had we kept our former coach. However,.. the media went after him like rabid dogs,.. think they can do that with this new coach? NOT A CHANCE! They have to tip toe around being “offensive” when talking about him. Go BUCS, (and go away lovie!)
December 24th, 2014 at 2:28 pm
Fyi all u schiano lover we didn’t fall out of the top ten offense because we fired schiano we dropped to the bottom ranks because he ran off a qb who set franchise records in passing yards and total touchdown for a rookie 3rd round qb” of his choice” who in turn then led up to become ranked 32 n offense and ethical back n franchise demise as we currently sit now. …FACTS!!!!
December 24th, 2014 at 2:36 pm
Josh Freeman got beat out by Curtis Painter (for 3rd string no less) and is currently out of the league. People need to stop acting like somehow we ran off Aaron Rodgers.
December 24th, 2014 at 2:51 pm
Freeman is freeman worst enemy, freeman did it to himself, If not he would still be in the NFL..
December 24th, 2014 at 3:05 pm
Josh Freeman wasn’t the best QB in the world but even at his worst he managed to perform better than either of the quarterbacks we have played this year. I understand that he went through some personal problems but cutting him without a viable replacement was just dumb. Glennon is a mediocre QB and not the long term answer for this team. Yes a team can win games with Glennon at QB but the rest of the team must be outstanding and that is obviously not the current state of the Buccaneers.
The Bucs season has been over since before Halloween for the second year in a row and that is unacceptable. Lovie has made the wrong decision on almost every front this year something that I hope is a one year fluke but I’m not very optimistic. We will all know if Lovie has learned anything once the season is over and he starts trying to fix the mess he created.
December 24th, 2014 at 3:16 pm
Glennon would be a perfect back up…perfect….
December 24th, 2014 at 3:33 pm
Also the whole “Freeman gave us leads” thing becomes a pretty interesting argument considering Glennon has given us 4th quarter leads in 4 of his 5 starts this year…
December 24th, 2014 at 3:53 pm
He’s Aaron Rodgers compared to Lennon n mccown but I guess u guys dnt like franchise records being broken u like 32 n 31 ranked offense lmao I swear you guys would love our qb be Tebow or some version of him. I just kno when u get talent u harness it build around it n give it help wheb needed physical or mental raheem said I’ll tolerate u untill I can replace u lol real good replacement schiano 32 n 31 ranked O. Yea glennon for president wtf! !!
December 24th, 2014 at 3:56 pm
N to say Freeman didn’t have talent then tell me y mccown nor glennon can break those records n free had arguably less talent around him ???
December 24th, 2014 at 4:35 pm
Joe you chased away both Greg Olsen and the guy from the Giants (don’t recall his name… lol)… with your negativity.

Freeman did have talent and did well, then he lost it. He is not breaking any records now and he sucked for us at the end.. I once could pitch good but not anymore.. Do you want me on your baseball team
December 24th, 2014 at 8:23 pm
If it was you or mccown/glennon I’d take you and your retired arm bro I’m sure since you’ve proven you once had what it takes with good coaching it can once again be replicated.
