Scary Stats Of The Day

December 21st, 2014

McCownlaughBucs fans will be leaving the Stadium on Dale Mabry highway early today if Josh McCown has one of his typical games.

Man, the Bucs could be down three scores at halftime.

A couple of things the Packers do very well could spell doom.

Green Bay has 17 interceptions, good for sixth-best in the NFL. They’re fifth in the league in passes defensed with 91. The Bucs by contrast, are in the bottom third of the league in both categories.

It would be nice to see McCown play like a veteran for a change; make sound decisions instead of rookie mistakes.

Joe gets that McCown is allegedly a great mentor for a young quarterback, but Joe’s wondering how legitimate that is when the guy performs like a rookie consistently.

I can’t believe McCown is starting today. I am convinced that we already have a trade deal in place and have agreed not to play Glennon except in an emergency…..it is the only thing that makes any sense.

Was watching game day first and they are really talking up Ted Larson…. why we get rid of him and all our other starters that are starters on other teams and some are on playoff teams… wtf ?????

  3. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

A great Ted Larsen is a product of GREAT coaching.

  4. Harry Says:

And these are the ppl who are selecting players next year to build our roster… Frightening!

  5. Soggy Says:

Off topic but did you guys see that 49er and charger game that was a nice 90 yrd TD run by cap, wow the come back of the chargers.. Can our running backs run 90 yrds without getting gases?..lol

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

We make some mistakes….but I think its more coaching…..we have some winners who others let go also…….Rainey, Smith. Lansanah, McDougald & Wright…

It works both ways….just feels worse for us because we are losing mostly because of our poor Oline play….

    Fire Lovie 1 Jan 2015

  9. OB Says:

I am sorry but McCown has not and is not playing this year like a rookie QB, he is playing like he is one of the Marx Brothers in Football Fantasy.

I predict that he will have at least two turnovers each half.

The only reason Lovie keeps stating we are on the verge is when he watches the tape and sees McCown and our OL, he keeps thinking that if he only saw that open receiver, or he throw an accurate pass, or he saw the three defenders around our receiver and so on. He looks at the line and thinks, he will do better next time by not letting the DL get around him or he will block someone.

I also think that since he never sees him do anything, he forgot that Johnson is on the team.

What really pisses me off, aoo the good players and coaches that are trying and playing, see the same inept players playing every week and the brain dead coaches keep coaching being brain dead. They deserve better and that is why the Glazers have to dump Lovie on a week from tomorrow. I don’t care his background, I don’t care how old he is, I want an attacking offensive minded HC that knows how to lead so he can lead the good players out of this quagmire and into the Super Bowl.

With VJax, ME13, GMC, LVD, Smith, the LB that name starts with an L that I can’t spell, even Foster, all the RBs, Dotson, and Number 27, the new HC has a foundation to blow out the division and the NFL.

    Merry Christmas

Rest easy fans, Lovie assured Bucs fandom that the team will play to win the game.

No, what also makes perfect sense (if totally terrifying) is Lovie thinks McCown is better. His incredibly poor talent evaluation history suggests that’s the case here.

  12. DallasBuc Says:

What gets lost in all of his poor decision making on the field and proclivity for giving the ball to the other team is his inability to throw the damn ball. He seems to have the arm strength of a high school kid and his accuracy is so inconsistent it’s a wonder how we ever score. When you watch just about any other QB in this league you can see the arm talent but the Bucs hire the guy that couldn’t win a starting job at Gaither high school.
I’ve said this many times but it bears repeating, when you intentionally start Josh McCown you are not trying to win football games. “It’s kinda simple as that”

  13. Brent Says:

Mcnown as starter next year is beyond stupid the only dumber thing I can think of was Cummings idea to trade down 20 spots to get foles and a 2nd rounder. Mg is better than foles IMHO. I can’t believe the hacks we have down here in tampa. I’ve lived in NYC and chi and I think their media would laugh at that deal. You better get a 1 a 2 and a 3 minimum plus foles if u trade down 20 spots or your getting raped. I should have gone into journalism that meatball Cummings is bucs beat writer!!!!

  14. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

The whole of the Front Office/Coaching = McCown
    years of experience
    years of poor performance

  15. Chris G Tucker@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

I really don’t care anymore, as long as we lose the game. This is what us Tampa Bay Buc’s fans have been reduced to, hoping our team loses, to wait for a next year that lately is worse then the last one.

  16. mac Says:

“Bucs fans will be leaving the stadium early”…. Hahahaha…

Its going to be mostly Green Bay fans at Ray Jay today so I don’t think very many will be leaving… They usually like to stay to watch the slaughter and cheer louder than Bucs fans… It will be your typical Tampa Bay embarrassment…

    Go Bucs!!!

  17. Brooks4Prez Says:

The real reason MCclown is starting……..Jay Cutler to Tampa for our first round pick this year, our second round pick next year and Glennon. Surprised it is not all over the media right now. WATCH FOR IT…..U heard it here first.

You left out the second part of that trade should it occur: The Buccaneers trade their home in Tampa for a home in London. Franchise is dead in Tampa if that happens.

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    @ Brooks4Prez

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo has finally found someone that is more of an idiot (unless you were kidding) than Pablo is” “Pablo is hoping that we bring in Mark Sanchez”….of course!!!

The Bucs crowd today at RJS should start up the Tampa Bay chant. One side TAMPA, the other side TANK.

  22. SSG Mike Says:

I agree with TBBF, there must already be a trade deal for Glennon and Lovie has agreed not to play him to preserve his health. Not to mention the previously loud and quick to criticize the Bucs Glennon brother has been silent, so maybe Mike told him to shut up. Either that or Lovie and Licht feel they are better served by not playing Glennon so there is less tape from this dreadful year than the last year where Glennon had a few decent outings under Schiano. Nick Foles is not the answer nor is Cutler. The Bucs should get there franchise QB (Mariotta or Winston) and replace McCown with a real one season stop-gap mentor to our new QB. FA or trade available QB’s may include Jake Locker, Brian Hoyer, Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez, RG3, M. Vick, Sam Bradford amongst others. Anyone of these may suffice. Brian Hoyer may be the best fit of the bunch. Oft injured but super talented Bradford would be intriguing as well. Most of these QB’s will not require any significant investment at least not more than what they are paying McCown but have a ton more upside than McCown. It may be awesome that McCown is such a locker room leader and mentor for young players but maybe that means he should start his coaching career as the next QB coach or something. He sure can’t equate any of those qualities to the field on Sunday when it counts. Hurry up Draft!!!!
