There comes a time in every man’s life, when he must admit the inevitable. The Buc’s suck. Big Time. One or 2 more wins will accomplish….NOTHING!!!!!!
So, do we swallow our pride? Lose 2 more games? Set ourselves up for something worth cheering about next year? You’re damn right we do.
Do we get a top QB? Do we trade the pick for a king’s ransom? We’ll see, but one thing is sure…another season like this one and there will be more venders in the stands hawking over-priced hotdogs, than ticket purchasing fans.
I don’t want to win today’s game next year as I want us to win next year and many years after. Whether that is getting a franchise QB or getting a booty of draft picks for the next few years.
I understand the thinking…..I just don’t have it in my DNA to want to lose…..Over the years, I’ve actually tried it before but when the whistle blows….I want a win.
I am not going to make judgement about others want…..I know they are looking at the greater good….hoping a higher draft pick will improve the team….but I say this….be very careful what you wish for…..

“Pablo is a very young man….so Pablo hopes we lose this year….next year, the year after that and beyond…..Pablo thinks it would be great to have the number one pick every year…..especially next year in case this year’s pick is a bust. Pablo chose 3 wrong wives so far and dumped them each year….Pablo is still looking for a new one.”
This makes me laugh. You dont have to root for the Bucs to lose – the Bucs themselves will take care of losing just fine. Root hard for the Bucs – the Bucs suck so bad all the hard rooting FOR them will make no difference and they will lose.
I’ll always root for the Bucs to win….that being said, a loss does more to help us next season (and beyond) than a meaningless win these last two games! Would a win have helped out the Colts a couple of years ago when they had their sights fixed on Andrew Luck? Nope….sometimes you have to take a few steps back, before you can begin to move forward again!
I really don’t think many of us actually root for the Bucs to loose once the game starts, including those like me who voted for us to loose. I think most are happy during the game when the Bucs do something good (on those very rare occasions). But when the game is over today 90% of us take solace in the fact the Bucs have moved one step closer to that coveted #1 draft pick and will finally have a franchise QB
Exactly….I really don’t think most fans sit there doing the game…hoping for us to fumble or miss a tackle or throw an interception…..but they may actually have a feeling of relief instead of dispair after the game…..I wish more fans would be a bit more honest about that!!!
I love how people continue to assume getting the #1 pick means definitely getting a franchise QB. In the last 15 drafts QBs who went #1 have been clear busts 3 times (JaMarcus, David Carr, Tim Couch), mediocre to not true franchise guys 5 times (Alex Smith, Sam Bradford, Cam Newton, Mike Vick, Carson Palmer), close to franchise guys 2 times (Eli and Stafford) and one true elite QB (Luck). Based on those numbers its more likely we draft a bust or mediocre QB than a true franchise guy. I’d much rather ruin the Packers season by costing them the division. They are 1 and done if they have to go on the road.
I have never rooted for the Bucs to lose, …BUT, it’s been a long time since we’ve actually had the first pick, first round, even after all the losing seasons we had to endure we somehow did just good enough not to have the first pick.
I really don’t care about draft status! I never hope or wish my team losses a game! We won’t win today, but I’d still rather have a W then a L on the stat sheet! So all this tanking for a QB talk is funny since we’ll have Cutler next season with Lovie as HC
Ive lived in tampa for 25 years. the bucs are my team. i want them to have the top spot in the draft but no I’m not going to being cheering if aaron rogers shoves a wheel of cheese up our ass
Getting the top pick is a few and far between event. This team can make serious improvements making the right combination of moves. Lovie is not going anywhere soon, imo. Might as well face it, we’re addicted to Lovie.
I want to know what makes any of these so-called “fans” think the front office won’t screw up the first pick if they happen to get it? This team has no fan base, no ownership, and no heart. Its no wonder they are the laughing stock of the league. Go ahead and cheer for them to lose, cowards. You deserve no better.
strato…If I’m a “so called fan” because I want to ensure yet another excuse by this franchise to not get what they need then you have got be a so call sucker for caring about a product that could give two spits about it’s fan base….wimpy ownership=gutless team = clowns judging people that have better things to do with their time
How could any real fan want the bucs to lose? I dont care how bad they suck or if they draft 1st or 5th or whatever real true fans cant root against the team they love good or bad. All of you who vote yes you arr the reason tampa fans are the biggest joke in sports.

@Lightningbuc
Exactly…..you can root so hard and still get the number one pick….that way you are not deserting your team…
I suspect most of the fans that claim they wand to lose do that anyway….
Just think….you can root hard for your team and still get the consolation prize for losers….the better draft pick!!!

Lol @ Espo – Take it easy soldier, our mindset won’t actually change the game results.

@ Espo, Does jimmy johnson make you sick with his SB ring. He brags about not winning meaningless games for the better draft position..

Rooting for a win, especially if it would sour pack playoff chances.
December 21st, 2014 at 11:01 am
I’m rooted out. I’ll just watch and expect the same outcome. Read and make some comments, that’s more enjoyable win or lose. Go Bucs!

My apologies ladies and gentlemen. I will now turn my anger towards the cheese heads that for some reason have invaded our tail gate.
