Josh McCown should have plenty of chances against a pretty soft Packers defense

For the optimists, Joe recommends this Playbook video from NFL Network. Sterling Sharpe, Shaun O’Hara and Brian Billick gather to talk about Packers’ weaknesses and show them on film. Green Bay has a nasty habit of the drops, and their third-down defense is below average.
You don’t have to watch the video to know the Packers’ defense is sketchy, but like the Bucs’, it’s been improved through the second half of their season.
Joe wouldn’t be shocked if the Bucs have a measure of offensive success, but if (once?) the Packers get a lead and make the Bucs one-dimensional, this game could get ugly in a hurry.

packers are far from perfect. I agree. but, the bucs are the crappiest team in the nfl. the bucs don’t win and keep the top draft pick next spring.

Taking advantage of the packers weaknesses require: that we pass block, won’t happen, that McCown stop making dumb decisions, no way, and that we have some semblance of an nfl game plan. Given the above the “flawed” Packers will only win 38-10.

The real question is, why would the Bucs want to beat the Packers? Beating the Packers and/or Saints for that matter would be a huge loss in my opinion. Eye on the prize (Winston/Mariota sweepstakes). Having the number one pick vs the 5th pick would is a world of a difference. Funny the way it is, winning is losing and losing is Winning, go figure..

1 of the NFLs best teams against the NFLs worst team… NO worries… The Bucs did not just suddenly turn all pro over night….Still have the same HC!… All but certain this game is out of reach for Bucs by half time…. Proof that going after a HC with experience can turn into a horrible decision…

The Packer defense isn’t that soft…it plays opportunistically. Basically the difference is that if you don’t play the QB position well, they will create a large number of turnovers…if you do, you can take advantage of them. So how well do you think McCown will play? Brees, Brady, etc? If you really want the Bucs to win, you better hope McCown plays like Rodgers, and Rodgers plays like McCown.

Tampa hasn’t a prayer of beating the Packers tomorrow, and it will be a celebration for all the Packers Fans at our stadium tomorrow.
It is best we don’t win anyway, and mess up our race for the number one pick in the draft.
I don’t think we will totally implode tomorrow, I just don’t think we have the firepower to hang with the Packers.

I’m expecting this game to be well out of hand by 2nd quarter.
I just hope our offense manages to score more than 17 points this week.

The offense will not put up more than 12 points. So the only thing to worry about is if the defense holds long enough and how many times Murry gets a chance to kick Field Goals to out score them that way. Or with Defensive scores.

The voice of common sense speaks. I was thinking the same thing. Any. Given. Sunday.
I would like to see Evans get Rookie of the Year, but not at the cost of the #1 pick. I do NOT want Bowers to have his only good game of his career and end up with 3-4 sacks at DT. This is not when Michael Johnson needs to finally “get it”.
Lay down and “play” dead at this point. By play, I mean let the world think we have no hope, but show them otherwise NEXT YEAR when we have a franchise QB, two new OL guys and two new safeties.
I’m going into this game afraid the Bucs will mess up the #1 pick thing, not hoping for a useless win, because winning is losing at this point. I want what is best for the team. And that is the #1 pick and the first pick in each round of the draft. 2 picks in the 5th. Maybe some compensatory picks.

I’m going into this game with the exact same hopes and expectations I’ve had since the Atlanta game. Go out and compete, play hard, and hopefully lose. I don’t expect us to lose by more than 14 points and as Bonzai said, I hope this isn’t the week that all of his stuff happens, that the OLine finally gels, that McCown can put a complete game together without a boneheaded mistake or two. Without McCoy, I’m thinking that seriously stymies our chances of an upset…but we shall see. I just want to see us play hard, make it close, and end the day with Mariota still on the horizon.

I fear that the Bucs will lose that number #1 pick even if they do lose their final two games. Titans may still get that number #1 pick due to “strength of schedule”. (I sure hope I am wrong).

We’re already winning that battle by a fairly large margin. We’re at .480 and the Titans are at .493. There’d have to be some pretty serious implosions on the Titans end and explosions on our end for that to change in the next two weeks.

I’m tempted to wish for a loss….but everytime I get close to that thought my years of history with the Bucs kicks in and I want to win.
It makes all the sense in the world to think otherwise…I understand….the greater good….but It’s not me.
I want ME13 to have 4 touchdowns today……I want Banks to intercept 3…..I want to send all the Cheesheads home crying….but, I hope the other teams in contention for the pick win also…..

I sure hope you are right. I heard a lot has to do with how all the teams we played and all the teams the Titans played finish their seasons. This will factor greatly in the final “strength of schedule” results.

Thanks to arroyo this will be an easy loss, packers score points but their defense is vulnerable. I think this is the first time I’ve ever said I’d be pissed if we win
