“Really? I Thought It Was My Elbow.”
December 15th, 2014Uh, oh!
It seems the Bucs might have a confused camper in their locker room.
Tampa Bay Times Buccaneers beat writer Rick Stroud discussed a very intriguing nugget about yesterday’s benching of left tackle Anthony Collins in favor of Demar Dotson taking over the position.
When asked if he thought his benching was due in to his play, Collins said: “No, I don’t think so, Can’t be. They would have told me that.”

Per Stroud talking on WDAE-AM 620 this morning, Collins didn’t know that the change was a “coach’s decision,” as Lovie Smith referred to it in his postgame news conference.
“As far as Anthony Collins go, apparently he was the only guy unaware that he was benched and that it wasn’t because of his elbow,” Stroud said.
“Because he was probable [on the NFL injury report] all week. And then after the game, Lovie Smith said, ‘Coach’s decision.’ Anthony Collins said, ‘Really? I thought it was my elbow.’ So clearly, they don’t like what they’ve gotten from Anthony Collins.”
This is a little odd, especially considering Lovie is known as a clear communicator and Joe didn’t see it reported in any postgame story on the Tampa Bay Times’ website. Perhaps Joe missed something there.
Regardless. Joe hopes Collins has the message loud and clear by now. If he’s confused, maybe he should watch his game film that led this “decision.”

Who cares what the reason is, just as long as he stays on the sideline.

Collins is not intelligent. Incidentally, he is also not talented.
Golf clap to LovieDovie&Co for the signing.

Lots of benching should occur in the next two games to send a message.
Players that should be benched are
QB McCown
LT Collins
C EDS
G (Do we have any good guards?)
DE Johnson
P Koenen (if we could)

Lovie the hypocrite liar strikes again!
December 15th, 2014 at 12:17 pm
Collins has been bad no doubt about that, but do you really mean to tell me that he would not have out preformed Cousins at right tackle yesterday. After watching Cousins I was honestly trying to figure out if he is the worst player to ever wear a bucs uniform. Between this move and Lovie’s refusal to bench that bumbling idiot McClown, I really do believe Lovie is playing for the first pick in the draft. If not than you can put my Lovie confidence rating at negative infinity.

It wasn’t an elbow problem, it was a heart problem. He doesn’t have one.
December 15th, 2014 at 12:23 pm
This is a hot mess LOL
December 15th, 2014 at 12:27 pm
So isn’t lovie supposed to be mr Christian. Dude lies all the time for someone who is a quote man of faith
December 15th, 2014 at 12:40 pm
Why is Oneill Cousins still getting playing time? McCown was pressured SIX TIMES from the guys Cousins was supposed to be blocking. That’s abysmal. There’s no way Collins could be worse than him.
December 15th, 2014 at 12:41 pm
Hahaha, what do you expect from Liar Smith? He is a liar after all, only this time he is lying to his own players instead of the fans.
He couldn’t even rename McClown the starter and demote Glennon. He had Glennon go out and tell the media himself.
Any good reason we SHOULD NOT fire this buffoon and send him and his lapdog and has been FA’s with him???
December 15th, 2014 at 12:47 pm
Fire his aas the guy is absolutely clueless on building a great offense or defense at this point.

You Lovie haters are CLUELESS. Calling the man a liar and all that. What’s wrong with you? You think coaches and elite QBs are in every offseason or draft. You’ve run the best coaches out of town, booed SB QBs out of town and walk around as though the franchise has had Patriots like success. This team never had a dynasty. Fans aren’t patient enough to build one. Not even through his first year and you want Lovie gone? Why? So we can start all over with a new staff AGAIN? More offseason dumpings and movement? Get real! It takes time to build a team. Sure, there have been some failed moves. But few coaches win SBs or make the playoffs in their first year. Get a grip on life and understand some things before you speak.

Took three years to build Chicago into a SB team. I feel sorry for WHOEVER we draft in the 1st rd next year. Dude better part the Red Sea, turn blood to water, and birth babies on his weekdays. No mention of the defense improving? Of the no name guys coming in and playing well on the defensive side of the ball. No talk of Evans having an outstanding ROY type year despite wretched QB play.
December 15th, 2014 at 1:11 pm
AHHHHHH! You all that are calling for the Tee-Tots (to quote the late great Chris Thomas – nickname he gave the Glazer Bros.) to kick Lovie to the curb are about as frustrating as watching Cousins yesterday. STOP.
December 15th, 2014 at 2:45 pm
Who cares.
What I would like to know Joe is why the Bucs never use the middle of the field. I swear they didn’t throw one pass inside until late in the fourth quarter.
All of the routes that were thrown to were going outside except for the route Murphy got hurt on and one that Evans dropped.
This goes on week after week.
Geesh..
December 15th, 2014 at 3:41 pm
Ummm…isn’t it possible Lovie made a decision to hold him out b/c of the elbow injury? I wouldn’t play Collins at 100% let alone injured! Conspiracy theorists…
December 15th, 2014 at 7:08 pm
Clear communicator….that’s a riot. Lovie is the biggest liar since Clinton
December 15th, 2014 at 8:22 pm
Tgreg, you are so right. I remember when he lied about Yellow cake uranium, WMD’s and Iraq being in bed with Al Quaida. Cost over 5,000 American lives, mostly sons and daughters.
