Joe’s glad Lovie Smith has kept his sense of humor during these troubled times for those who live the Bucs life.
The head coach still has one-liners ready to deliver in his signature mellow style.
Yes, Gerald McCoy needed help off the field in the first quarter Sunday. Yes, he bruised his knee, per the Buccaneers. Yes, McCoy was limping a bit when he returned.
Lovie clarified McCoy’s situation further on the Buccaneers Radio Network last night on WDAE-AM 620.
“He was able to shake it off. I know some of the rumors out there. He’s not getting his leg amputated or anything like that,” Lovie said of McCoy.
“He was good to go. He had to play with a little bit of pain, but you normally have to when you get a knee bruise. But again, it was sore even after the game. But he should be good to go.”
Lovie went on to say players this late in the year play with pain, especially linemen. However, the Bucs have a firm rule on injuries, Lovie said. “We don’t ask our players to play through an injury.”

Of course Lovie has a sense of humor. He has to watch the games ‘live’ and then re-live them over and over, on tape. It’s like a Three Stooges marathon… painful and funny at the same time.

PFT stands by their reporting that the knee was dislocated. But I guess we should trust the guy that hired Trash McCown, Johnson and Collins while firing Revis. Let’s trust that guy.

Traded Tim wright. Dude is balling. Was balling. BUT he wasn’t a great blocker. So be it. He’s a threat in what today’s nfl is trending. Atheltic TEs. WE could have traded up for Teddy.

We could have traded up for Teddy…Tim Wright is balling…just stop it.
Sure, the Bucs could have traded up for Teddy, but at what cost? As of right now, the Bucs are sitting on the number one overall pick, and there are some intriguing QB prospects to consider for 2015.
As for Tim Wright, the Bucs rolled the dice on a greater need (OL) and it didn’t pan out. Tim Wright is not the second coming of Jimmy Graham. He’s a solid player that is doing well with an elite QB, which the Bucs don’t have. And while Wright had a good rookie season, the team felt that ASJ was the better option, and that may prove to be true. Even Gronk started his rookie season slowly, so year two will tell us a lot about ASJ.
The team currently stinks, that much is true, but enough of the revisionist history. It’s been disappointing to watch this team lose year after year over five of the last six seasons, but I’m willing to bet the team does a lot better next season with an established offensive coordinator. They need much more out of whoever they bring in through free agency, though, as Lovie and Licht really dropped the ball with this season’s FA class.

^ well Tim wright had a good rookie year wth glennon as his qb says enough. Instead of continuing to develop a steal as a Udfa and address the qb wth bridgewater you trade him away.
Jeremy Stevens had a ton of untapped talent. Didn’t do squat. ASJ has injury history that scared me. He’s a first round talent that dropped bc of that and we’ve seen already multiple injuries foot knee back.

GMC does have a history of injuries one can not ignore but he did get paid by the Bucs so us fans better hope that he can actually put together a couple of healthy seasons w/o play interruption for a change….
