I wonder who we will take with the first overall pick in the Draft next April? I like Mariotta, but there may also be some merit to trading down and picking up a few extra high picks to upgrade the O-line and maybe get a QB in the later rounds…might also want to take a look at guys like Hoyer or RGIII who might be available in the offseason.

Here’s really what it comes down to, problems in order.
1) Lovie Smith – Head coach is responsible to the entire team…his inability to contribute at all to the offense makes him responsible for everything below. In reality, his defensive woes are probably last on this list.
2) Offensive Line – can’t block a Lego
3) Marcus Arroyo – every play he seems to call is a 5 step drop long developing pass play…no protection, no success. need to run more dink and dunk…and ACTUALLY RUN the ball
4) Josh McCown – he turrible

I feel bad for Josh McCown at this point too. Dude puts his all out there but is in a terrible position…no real offensive coordinator. A completely hands off head coach for offense which didn’t stabilize the situation at all.
Think about how hard the bottom fell out when Tedford went down. McCown and Arroyo run that whole side of the ball, you know it.
He’s got one hell of a chin after getting plastered so bad. Hard to keep rooting for someone so bad still, he looks like a dejected little kid.
