Task Got Tougher: Collins Stays In Tampa
December 6th, 2014The Bucs have a steep, steep, steep climb in trying to beat Detroit on the road tomorrow. One reason for the tough task is the Bucs offense has been pretty lousy of late, and Detroit’s defense is damned good.
In particular, the defensive front of the Lions is very good. And now that job of stopping them got even tougher.
It seems starting left tackle Anthony Collins is out tomorrow, per the fingertips of the “Custodian of Canton,” eye-RAH! Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune.
Bucs starting LT Anthony Collins did not accompany the team to Detroit because of an elbow injury

Collins’ void will be filled by fan favorite Oneil Cousins, most likely. Here is the issue, it often goes in football if a tackle has a rough day, so too does the guard that lines up next to him. It is sort of a snowball effect.
If you are one to attend religious services Sunday morning, it may be wise to keep Bucs quarterback Josh McCown in your thoughts.

Not much of a loss. Collins blows like the rest of Liar Smith’s hand picked crew.

Can his absense really hurt too much? Maybe Cousins actually shows up in detroit and earns his coin for a change….
December 6th, 2014 at 9:37 pm
What a bust this far. Maybe G next year but no shot at LT
December 6th, 2014 at 9:47 pm
Like Steve Duemig said, throw Glennon to the Lions.
December 6th, 2014 at 9:49 pm
Collins, Mankins, and Smith were all solid O Linemen, before they got to Tampa, so it has to be the coaching.
I want to see us bring back Pete Mangurian, if anyone remembers him ?
He was the man who did so much, with so little here in Tampa, and yet we fired him the next year. WTF ?

Meanwhile Donald Penn continues his Pro-Bowl season in Oakland.
December 6th, 2014 at 10:16 pm
Yeah, I like that. Throw Glennon to the Lions.
December 6th, 2014 at 11:50 pm
What a tradegy!
December 6th, 2014 at 11:52 pm
Easily replaced with a door stop.
December 7th, 2014 at 12:11 am
Please cut him
December 7th, 2014 at 12:21 am
Missing Collins is addition by subtraction…

Where is Pamphile, was he not drafted as a left tackle? When are we going to find out if he can play, 2027???
December 7th, 2014 at 1:13 am
No loss at all except for the false start penalties that won’t be called on him. JBF, if Michael Johnson is a ghost, then Collins is a Zombie. Horrific FA signings by L&L. As for the defense, let’s not crown them anything. Detroit 33 TB 6. You’ll be writing tomorrow how the defense had a relapse and how undisciplined the team remains. No need to watch this horror show during the holidays.

Winning these last 4 games or any of them does the team no good. It’s all about draft position at this point. With that said, I still can’t root against the team. I was bummed when we grasped defeat out of the jaws of victory last week which has been the norm this year. The only thing left to the imagination is how we will self destruct. last week it was retarded penalties at the climax of the game.

I hope Pamphile gets 3-4 series at least to see what he can do against this good defense. I think he starts next year if we have seen the best of of Collins. I remember we signed Luke Petitguet (sp??) and he gof injured and Penn stepped in and did great. I see Pamphile doingthe same.

Like Collins was any better. Who cares. The all suck. The entire line is just terrible.
December 7th, 2014 at 7:49 am

December 7th, 2014 at 7:54 am

December 7th, 2014 at 8:41 am
About all you can say at this point is the day will be interesting,
one way or another.
Should be fun to watch McCoy/Smith – Banks/Lansanah
Go Bucs
December 7th, 2014 at 9:40 am
Didn’t Cousins play surprisingly pretty darn good the last time Collins was out?
December 7th, 2014 at 9:51 am
Yes Scotty he did.
December 7th, 2014 at 10:27 am

Howard Cosell Says
“Meanwhile Donald Penn continues his Pro-Bowl season in Oakland.”
Um…no. Raiders are in last place, in case you have not noticed. Stop making things up.
December 7th, 2014 at 11:44 am
Suggesting a team’s record determines a player’s value is like saying Lavonte David sucks because the Bucs are horrible.
Talk about making things up. smh
