“They Owe It To Football Fans”
December 6th, 2014Yes, there are Bucs fans who want to see Tampa Bay lose its final four games so they can score big in the NFL Draft.
Joe can’t root against the Bucs when the whistle blows, but some can.
Joe doesn’t get that, but Joe doesn’t get a lot of things, so to each his own.
Veteran sportscast Dave Wirth, of WTSP-TV, Ch. 10, says the Bucs are obligated to play to win, though he advocates changes. Check them out in this brief Lions-Bucs video preview below.

Dave is saying what most of the Buc flotilla including Joe has been saying for weeks. It is a no go with Lovie, he thinks the same offense will win. Maybe he has has too much Christman cheer all along?
December 6th, 2014 at 12:52 pm
Bucs fans want a win in every game, seeing as how they are so few and far in between. At this rate it will take forever to become a .500 team overall.
December 6th, 2014 at 12:54 pm
OB, not sure where you got that from what Dave says here, but whatever.
Playing the kids is more important than ‘trying to win’ – whatever that means. Based on how the offense plays the Bucs haven’t been trying to win since they benched Glennon. 3 games out of 12 where they produced more than 20 points, and only once with McCown on the field. Since they’re going to scrap a lot of these ‘starters’ anyway, and likely the OC and QB’s, might as well see what the rookies can do.

Presently we must be thinking about next year. It’s only prudent.
It’s all about developing players and team for next year.
December 6th, 2014 at 1:40 pm
It is goign to be impossible for me to root against them, but I still hope we lost in a defensive battle lol. As long as our defense plays well from here on out I’ll be a happy camper. The defense is starting to look a top 10 defense, which by next year I believe can be a top-5.
The offense will be fixed in the off-season with a new coordinator and an elite QB prospect (Winston, Mariota) with a top 3 overall pick hopefully. Then spend the rest of the draft on offensive lineman. We have the skill positions on lock on offense, so we can easily make a one year turn around.

The bucs have stunk since papa left the team to the kids. No reason to think anything will change as long as they are running the team.
December 6th, 2014 at 2:39 pm
Joe, you say you don’t get fans rooting against the bucs, but even you said early in this season it made no sense to start McKnown to try to win meaningless games. Same thing really. Either you’re all in or you’re not.
Not accurate. Joe believed there was no proof McCown was better than Glennon after the 0-3 start. Therefore, in a lost season at 0-3 with two division losses and three conference losses, Joe was all in favor of letting Glennon back in the saddle for good. Second, Joe’s talking about rooting against the team when it’s on the field. Joe doesn’t do that. Some fans do.–Joe

Is it me or have 99% of the decisions made by Lovie blown up in his face? If he tries to win he’ll lose and if he tries to lose he’ll win. F* if u do, f* if you don’t. Karma is a b*tch. That’s what he gets gloating about “well this is a 4-12 team”. Now we’re a 2-14 team. #thanksobama.

Lovie bust the biggest nut ever, has a stroke on the field has to go on indefinite leave. Leaves the team in Fraziers care. Frazier starts 0-10. Lovie decides to move on to the next phase of his career after bc of the wonderful job Frazier is doing. Sounds about right.

I’m one of them Joe. How does it help the team to win?
December 6th, 2014 at 3:13 pm
At Lions at Panthers / home – Packers and Saints. No reason for us to at least split these four games and end up same as last year under the lil’General. 4-12. Anyone know the total amount of money wasted for this season alone compared to last year on FA’s-Coaches etc.? It has to be mind boggling to think how much was spent to achieve the identical record of the coach you fired.

Take advantage. I’m going off the grid for the next 10 days so I won’t be around to make my usual stupid comments. Lol
St. Thomas for a week. Bikinis, umbrellas and fruity drinks, no not talking about the bucs weight room either. HA! Boom Pow! I’m here all night folks don’t forget to tip your waiters.
December 6th, 2014 at 4:11 pm
I root for the Bucs during the games but I’m happy at the end if we compete hard and lose.
I think the team will be competitive again this week. I’m fearful of a win, but hopeful to see a good game.

I agree at this point the season is a bust and is over. The only reason to continue to play is well because the calender season is not over! It is that time of year where you need to start seeing what your depth looks like going into this off season. All the rookies should be playing 80% more snaps throughout these last few weeks. Charles Sims needs the rock so we can see if he can be a bell cow and if so how good, ASJ needs to show strong improvement over these last few games. Start plugging in those rookie O-Linemen and see how they can hold up allowing them some valuable live game time. There is nothing we can do about this season but we can get a jump start on the 2015 season. Which is where I begged this franchise to make a big turn around granted the skill position payers and defense showed strong promise ending the season. We need a QB and linemen on both side of the ball with a little secondary sprinkled in and we can be actual competitors in this league again. We really aren’t that far off!

@tickrdr. Love the Virgin Islands. St Thomas internet? That means your throwing your castnet in inlet instead of the ocean.

Actually I’ll be cruising on royal carribean. Oasis of the seas. 2014s Titantic, largest ship on earth. Pretty stoked. I assume no internet bc carnival doesn’t have it, well it’s like $15 a minute but yea, it’s time to go off the grid for a bit.

@DB55. Real duty free shopping. Can bring back up to 10k tax free per person, but don’t pay the ticketed price. You can pay at least 35% off ticket with a little negotiating. Cameras, Watches, Jewelry…
December 6th, 2014 at 9:16 pm
Of course real Buc fans are not cheering for a loss and since Joe has a pretty open posting policy not every post read on these threads are made by Buc sfans, some people get their rocks off by trolling other teams fan boards and lighting them up, don’t get that either but to each their own…..
I like MGMforlife’s thinking in that 4-12 would be a reasonable way to finish up 2014 with a couple wins in december but realistically I think the Bucs best chance is obviously in Carolina where Carolina is going to do exactly what Louis Friend suggested the Bucs should do: start the kids, see what players can help the team next season…. The Panthers have been playing just as bad as Tampa since their opening win in Tampa (2-8-1, vs 2-9); the difference being they tied the Bungles in a 37-37 slugfest while the Bucs lost a winnable 14-13 match…. THe Bucs also have the incentive of trying to stop a 3 game losing streak to the Panthers last winning when the Bucs swept them in Schiano’s 7-9 season where Ron Rivera started like 0-6 and turned it into 7-9 and saved his job until the end of this month….. Another win hard to see though, maybe New Orleans falls apart, maybe a repeat upset tomorrow in Detroit. Heres to hoping for a W but hopefully just seeing some diamonds in the rough start to shine and plug a few holes in the sunk pirate ship….

Yes please lose all remaining games! Then draft randy gregory next to mccoy.. we need to get the dudemsome help..
December 7th, 2014 at 2:40 am
As bad as we need a QB and O line help, I cant see why its a bad thing if Im rooting for them to keep doing what theyve been doing….losing. Yes, I would like it to be close competitive losses and see our D do well, but we all know the season is done. I could argue that true fans would be on board with this logic, but to each his own.
Like mentioned, fans have paid for tickets to see a game and maybe wants them to win the last 4….that would be reckless to me if we really want to improve the QB and O line with new talent.
December 7th, 2014 at 2:47 am
@nate, hoping we dont go D with that 1st pick, but we could trade down a few spots and I’d be happy with him or Shane Ray.

@Joe, Who is this DoucheBag55? He thinks he runs this site and his comets are better than your articles. In my opinion, DoucheBag55, go ahead and get lost at sea, your not funny, your not hot s*t, oh yeah also, read lots of you comments, your not bright either. Stop commenting we hole your working, and do your job. Oh yeah, @Joe, I was going to say, ban this non buc fan basher, wanna be Joe, PLEASE!
