Joe Talks Coaching Frustration, O-Line Woes, Blame Game, The Dreaded Q-Word & More
December 2nd, 2014It was time again this evening for the popular “JoeBucsFan Hour,” when Joe takes to the WDAE-AM 620 airwaves to join the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, Steve Duemig.
Things sure got heated after an opening chat about Jameis Winston.
Enjoy!

“…as far as that’s concerned”

Pleasant guy…openly rooting for Glennon to get injured, basically.

Kinda funny how someone can behave so classlessly with such an inexplicable obsessive ferver towards individuals. Coach Gruden, coach Levitt, coach Schiano and now this poor kid Glennon are all targets of his blind outrage. It’s like some of the looney toons on this site were given a radio microphone. Yet when it comes to the game of football and the Bucs specifically you really do not get the sense he is the expert that he should be. It’s really amusing late on Tuesday afternoons “…as far as that’s concerned”

Big dog does’nt like Winston. He does’nt like Glennon. Who does he like? Lovie and McCown? Power to the people!

Just caught the discussion you have with the “Duemig Dog” today. I cannot agree more with you all that McCown is horrible. He is a career back up who was touted for his conservative play with turnovers and his feet, yet he rarely runs and his turnovers are not only frequent, but happen at the absolute worst times, all the result of limited ability and poor decisions. Case in point, the play before the now infamous “12th man” play, Murphy #18 was uncovered by almost 10 yards about 15 yards down the field, yet our QB McCown threw deep, and overthrew Evans by 7 yards. Add to this lack of vision, it’s 4th and 20, 12 seconds left and McCown throws a 10 yard crossing pattern to Mike Evans … and the shame of it all, Vincent Jackson was SINGLE covered about 30 yards down the field !
I admit, our line needs work, but truly, I do believe McCown makes our line look even worse than it really is.

Duemig did a great job of outlining the incompetence of the entire team today. The one thing I disagree with him on is he refers to McClown critics as mCCown
Haters. Well I can say I’m definitely not a McClown liker because there really isn’t a lot to like.

Silly people…do you not realize football is entertainment. The Joe is insane and redicoulo but the Big Dog is muy loco. Gene Deckerhoff should be President!!!

I never would believe in a million years that I would say this but I would happily take the chance on Jameis even if he did everything he is accused of. His potential on field talent and our lack of it at the QB position for the last dozen years makes me re-think where I stand on these players’ morals. I know Joe wanted to say “yes” when asked the question by Duemig but people are listening so, you have to say “of course not”. You want him regardless. Say it.

Jameis Winston’s handlers, who have been scrambling to get him the heck out of college football since he became a serious heisman candidate midseason last year, are about to pull the professional sports heist of the decade if they manage to get him drafted high in the first round. Considering J Winston to be the Bucs best hope at QB due to a good freshman year he hasn’t come close to would be worse than paying some journeyman QB $5 million a year on the basis of a 6 game stretch that contradicts his previous dozen years of production. oh. crap.

Listening to the crap being slung by the “dean of Dung” on his radio show today I felt I should respond. You will notice that I started by giving him a new nick name. I have one better which I will tell you in a sentence or tow but have you noticed he always gives a disparaging name to those he hates? Schiano was Hitler, Glennon is “Ope”, Glennon Mobsters etc? Lets start calling him “Les Nesman” (after the pig reporter from “WKRP in Cincinnati”.

To your point about warhop being the link between the Browns and Bucs o-line shortcomings, and the Browns coming around this year, could we hope for improvement simply by making a coaching change and not doing a complete overhaul? A few have to go but we may not need to dump the whole line and start over.

The Bucs organization have decided to tank for the first pick. Oh they won’t publicly say it but lets stop covering our eyes to the situation. Lets see the O-line is dismantled or replaced with an even worse unit, , O-coordinator leaves at the season opener under a cloud of secrecy and not one offensive consultant is brought in to help oversee the offense. Really! Yeh first year QB coach should be able to handle it. AYFKM.
The Colts laid out the groundwork for tanking or “suck for Luck” campaign. The Bucs want Marriota to replace the Freeman experiment that went wrong. They’ll manage to loose the rest of the season.

I don’t care if Big Dog says it’s not personal. There is something about his dislike for Glennon that goes well beyond play on the football field. Joe, you are absolutely right. Glennon may not be the QB of the future but he’s a better QB than McCown. They’ve played in the same amount of games and Glennon has been better.
