Jameis Watch: First Loss Is Imminent
November 29th, 2014Crab-legs-stealing, BB-gun-shooting, obscenity-hollering, Heisman-Trophy-winning, national champion James Winston, the pride of Florida State University, continues to look like a much better quarterback prospect than Mike Glennon and Josh McCown.
It’s Joe’s daily nugget on the Jameis Watch, celebrating the best quarterback to wear No. 5 ever in the state of Florida.
Winston has known nothing but winning since he stepped foot onto the school’s campus in Tallahassee. Winston has won every game he has played in. Winston has won a national championship. Winston has won a Heisman Trophy.
Winston just wins. What more can you ask for?
But today, Joe feels, that winning comes to an end.
Joe expects a fresh taste of bitter defeat for Winston today, as the Seminoles’ usual playing with matches likely torches them
Seemingly every game this year, Florida State sets up its opponent, no matter how inferior, with a halftime lead — sometimes big; sometimes small — only to sit back with the knowledge Winston will lead a furious rally in the second half.
Today is when the Seminoles get burned by their arch-rival, Florida, who is playing to win the final game for its coach, Will Muschamp who was fired earlier this month.
Oh yeah, the last time this happened, when Florida fired Ron Zook, he took took his Gators into Doak Campbell and shocked Bobby Bowden and the Seminoles with an upset.
Joe is curious to see how Winston handles his first defeat as a college quarterback.
Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. on BSPN.

For a guy with a good sense of humor: this is your funniest post yet, Joe! Hahahhahahahahahahahah omg. I’m still laughing.

FSU has been ripe for an upset all season and UF has the ingredients to pull it off…
November 29th, 2014 at 10:50 am
lololololol his first defeat? i thought this was a bucs website not a college analysts website. First off FSU is not losing, so you might be waiting until he suits up in a bucs uniform for that first loss buddie. Think famous jamous is gonna lose to some gators in tally? get right.
November 29th, 2014 at 11:01 am
GATORS Will take down fsu today!
November 29th, 2014 at 11:07 am
Florida is awful. Are they just going to run it the whole time and not pass like they did against Georgia?
November 29th, 2014 at 11:08 am
We might have to wait until the playoffs to see how Winston plays against good competition
November 29th, 2014 at 11:20 am
@skyline
You are right and I’m a Gator fan. Unless Tech pulls an upset today FSU won’t play a good team until the New Year and 2 if they think they are repeating.
November 29th, 2014 at 11:21 am
Isn’t his hearing next week btw?

You guys have way to much time on your hands. Joe is sure to run a poll when Jameis and the rest of the key juniors and sophomores actually declare for the draft.–Joe
It seems to me to be inconsistent to say that we should wait until Winston declares….yet Joe choses to run a daily article. And….I guess Joe is fortunate that we have too much time on our hands to read it.
I believe my rationale is correct….Joe won’t run a poll now because he is concerned by the possible results. I could be wrong and don’t intend to accuse Joe of protecting his daily article….but in the absense of any explaniation why there is no poll now….I am forced to speculate.
And a poll now is certainly not hamful…it is only a poll and is something that will establish a base for future tracking….much like the Confidence in Lovie poll….

I saw the prediction the first time you made it. I’d sure like to see it happen. It would be sweet to silence that droning moaning crowd in Tallahassee. It was’nt that long ago that FSU was a school for women. A loss would make them all cry like little girls. I could see the Gators winning this game, but I also can see them losing. I can’t predict the winner, but kudos to you for sticking your neck out on that pick. Go Gators!!!
November 29th, 2014 at 11:35 am
Well, they don’t let Harris throw much & FSU can load the line on D. Florida will do well early but State will adjust. Better team.
November 29th, 2014 at 11:37 am
JOE………..I will give you kudos for this. Excellent vision by you guys and you had the balls to put it in print. This way you can say “I told you so”
November 29th, 2014 at 11:43 am
LOL you guys are funny with your minimal College football knowledge.
The Gators are BY FAR the best D the Seminoles will have faced this yr
Inner-state rivalry, coach fired, numerous guys on each side that committed to the other team. This game has Nothing to do with rankings
Any real Noles or Gators fan would know this
This is ANYones game
Thanks for playing though
November 29th, 2014 at 11:43 am
Joe, it is good you do not make your living predicting games. You would starve. Florida will have to be up at least 20 at the half to have a chance. They couldn’t hang on against USC at home. They won’t be able to stop FSU in the second half!
November 29th, 2014 at 11:48 am
I have read/heard too many ‘experts’ say the same thing. The Gators haven’t shown us anything that says they can do this. A strong running game is all they have. FSU blows this thing up from the get go.
November 29th, 2014 at 12:59 pm
Joe can I have what you’re smoking?
November 29th, 2014 at 1:31 pm
@Joe Congrats on going on the record. I won’t call it a bold prediction but Florida is certainly not expected to win. Yeah it’s a rivalry game and nobody will be shocked if they do win, except perhaps for Jameis, but I can’t actually be as bold as you and call for a Gator win.
Personally…this is a tough day for me. I have no dog in this fight, I like both teams. I feel sorry for Florida, but FSU has another title in sight and so I hope FSU wins in OT and the Gators get to salvage pride while the Seminoles get to salvage their title hopes.
Mainly I hope for a great game with no horrible game changing calls or any lucky breaks that turn the game.
MAY THE BEST TEAM WIN!

Not totally OT to this thread but definitely related
So I’m watching Louisville killing Kentucky. Bobby Petrino is obviously lacking in character but the man can coach. I suspect for Louisville to take him back he had to sign an onerous contract with a huge buyout so he’d be stuck in the Bluegrass State.
But if Petrino was available would you Florida Gators fans consider him or are the character issues too large for you?
November 29th, 2014 at 1:38 pm
LOL at LUNCHBAG
FSU has Blown Noone out and they aint blowing anyone out today.
November 29th, 2014 at 1:39 pm
Nice way to put it StPete.
May the best team on the field today win

The Gators are BY FAR the best D the Seminoles will have faced this yr……um really..Louisville was statistically ranked number one when we played them. And has a guy who just tied the interception record that has stood since 1968! Wow. Florida has great athletes but their defense as a whole can be suspect.
