“Whoever Did That? Don’t Let Him Do It Again”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ offensive line reminds Joe of that screwed up batch of instant chocolate pudding that’s been in the refrigerator for an hour.
Take it out and taste it, and it’s kind of runny and each spoonful doesn’t taste quite right.
That’s the Bucs’ O-line. It hasn’t jelled and it’s inconsistent. The more it’s sampled, the more the recipe screwup is realized.
Joe detailed last night how the Bucs might have to dump every starter on the O-line, a rare occurrence.
A former Bucs starting right guard seems to think that’s a must.
Ian Beckles (1990-1996) manned the WDAE-AM 620 microphone today and talked about how the Bucs have to start over on the O-line. He lamented eating contracts and wasted money, but he also was adamant the Bucs change their approach to revamping the line for the second consecutive season.
“Whoever did that? Don’t let him do it again,” Beckles barked, referring to whatever personnel man signed off on the Bucs’ four new starting linemen.
And that begs the question, ‘Who is responsible?’
When Lovie Smith was hired before general manager Jason Licht, much was made about Lovie’s all-encompassing power in the front office. But Licht, months later, went out of his way to say he and Lovie — and the entire staff and front office — had total personnel consensus. Licht called that a harbinger of good things.
Joe’s still waiting.
Joe still maintains the Logan Mankins trade was sound and appropriate. The Bucs were desperate, and Mankins was worth the gamble and Tampa Bay had the money to spend.
However, the Mankins trade was made necessary by the incompetence of 2014 free agents Oneil Cousins and Jamon Meredith, one of three Greg Schiano re-signees by Lovie and Licht (Meredith, Jonathan Casillas and Danny Gorrer.)
Joe’s head hurts thinking about all this.

All of which was predated by the wholly unnecessary departures of Zuttah, Penn, and Joseph! We’re reinforcing failure at this point. Each mistake just leads to more and more!

I don’t care who you blame as long as you don’t point the finger at LovieDovie. He can do no wrong and don’t blame Licht either because he is just a lovable lapdog with no real decision-making power.

News flash, this current group of Olinemen will NEVER GEL. It makes the Sims 3rd round pick all the more incompetent. No RB will be decent behind this line. L&L have no clue on personnel moves and are actually making the roster worse while mortgaging the future. They were supposed to correct past mistakes not compound them. Bucs were played like a violin on the Mankins trade b/c they screwed up the draft, aside from Evans. I have NO CONFIDENCE in L&L.

Nothing to add here, move along…. can’t argue with anyone. Reminds me of The Emperor’s New Clothes! Everyone in the Buc’s Kingdom can see the problem except for the Emperor!

Should have drafted o-line with 2 and 3rd pick- you have to draft your way out of this problem.

Wright has arguably outplayed Mankins, so that trade straight up would be bad. Throw in the 4th? Utterly horrific.

not shabby for like a 3rd string TE
but yeah, he’s done nothing.
nothing but be money everytime he steps on the field, even though sparingly.

Wright’s stats are better than ASJ. Difference? ASJ is playing 90% of all offensive snaps, Wright is playing 20%.

Wright also catches wide open Tds because of the Pats scheme and Brady. I will take ASJ in the long run. I do agree with parting ways with a 4th rd also but something had to be done. They bet on Nicks and lost, a 3rd round pick would of been the spot to draft one.
The season is screwed up so bad I can only hope and pray that we are able to draft and sign much better players. Doesn’t mean that the coaching will be any better; I do know we definitely will have a new offensive coordinator though.

We could have Wright and ASJ both. Instead we have broken down Mankins and the Pats got the best player and a draft pick. It was a horrific trade, another strong indictment against Lovie and Licht.

Wright was a play maker last year and he’s still making plays this year. Could it be that wright is better than asj? Could it that L&L are clueless when it comes to trades. It’s not like you can’t find stars in the 6-7th rounds ala Brady ala Shannon sharpe.
