Bears 21, Buccaneers 13
November 23rd, 2014A bad running game, bad quarterback play, bad hands, and lousy special teams will get you beat just about every time out.
That’s what happened to your beloved Bucs in Chicago today.
They imploded just before they took a 10-0 lead into halftime. And then got mowed down by 21 unanswered Bears points in the third quarter.
Lovie Smith’s team took a step backwards, which is unacceptable. The heralded “LovieBowl” return was a toilet flush.
“Play 60,” as Lovie sometimes calls it, was more like “Play 30.”
On first down from the Bears’ 10 yard line late in the first half, Josh McCown took a needless sack and threw two bad incompletions — one into quadruple coverage to Mike Evans. He never recovered.
The Bears are not a good football team. Coming into this game they allowed the most points per game in the NFL. The Bucs scored 13 — and their entire starting offense was healthy.
It’s hard to wag a finger of blame at the Bucs defense playing without superstar Lavonte David. They pressured Jay Cutler and sacked him three times in the first quarter, forced a fumble and largely contained Matt Forte. Mason Foster, however, dropped an easy sure interception in hands, a killer of a lost opportunity.
Tampa Bay is now 2-9 — in a division that’s historically dreadful.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The Bucs are close to turning things around. Joe’s heard that song a few times.

At least the players on the big club, New England (Blount and Wright) played well. We are a very good farm team for them. Actual NFL team? Not so much.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:22 pm
Was Michael Johnson playing today???
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:22 pm
This was all on McCown! Once again his bonehead plays cost us.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:23 pm
The bears rushed 3 on that last play and got enough pressure to flush McCown out and force a dump off pass. Tells the whole story of how that game went for the offense. Dreadful today

Play 30? More like play fifteen. Let’s all chip in and get these guys some cialis. Pink fluffy unicorns dancing on rainbows
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:23 pm
McCown really inspires prospective season ticket holders to invest… Epic failure
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:23 pm
And the real McClown returns. Lovie is a moron
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:24 pm
f**k the Bucs! I like winners and Hustlas!
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:25 pm
The Wright trade was a stroke of genius…unloaded a Schaino man after all
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:25 pm
Fire this guy now…. how bad did he look mouthing for us to get the snap off before the 2 minute warning. He looked up at the clock briefly and then yelled to get the snap off before- seemed like he had no idea how close we were at that time- and with the game on the line we needed to get into a good play- and a sneak with that personnel at that time was not our best play. Coaches are supposed to put us in positions to WIN- not do the opposite!!!!!!!!! FIRE THIS GUY NOW and pay 3 coaches at once. You hire inferior talent and you get inferior results. Our O Coordinator has never been an O Coordinator at an elite college program for christs sake, our ownership cannot hire talent. Same on the other side of the ocean with Man U- they suck, lovie sucks, and now my beloved bucs suck.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:25 pm
Horrible coaching, 3 minutes to go and they get ball in bears territory and that’s the best they can do? Plenty of time and that’s the play calling they come up with. Then the challenge, are you serious, they could’ve got ball back with a minute on clock with a chance at least. A coach that’s been a head coach as long as Lovie should not have screwed this up like that. Hard to watch this sh$t
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:27 pm
The game was there to be won by the Bucs. Instead we got a 2nd half reincarnation of the Yucs. I never thought they would win this game leading at halftime. and sure enough I was right. Go Yucs!
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:29 pm
He is in over his head…….has been since he left the LB room.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:31 pm

Hats off to the D. They showed up today. Too bad the QB sucks and tbe offensive line can’t run block or pass protect. Same old song.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:33 pm
I almost changed my vote to “little confidence”, but it looks like “no confidence” was the right call after all.
tickrdr
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:35 pm
The real mccown showed up today, I want him to be good enough where we don’t have to waste a 1st round draft pick on a qb but he’s to inconsistent. 1 good game against the redskins don’t buy you another year. The only problem is none of the qbs coming out are nfl ready.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:37 pm
McCown is at best a third stringer for a sand lock team. What is it that Lovie c n this guy. No way he’s a professional QB n the NFL. Multiple overthrow/overthrows, missed open receivers, overthrow with no pressure, unexplained sacks, lack of clock management, too much time in the pocket… No one open then run, n the list goes on. McCown handed the Bears the win on a pewter n red platter. Fourth down call was ridiculous. Plz… Let’s get an Andrew Luck heads up type QB in the draft. I say fire Lovie if he keep McCown as his starter next year. Too many bonehead plays to be a 13 year get in the NFL. Enough is enough.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:39 pm
High draft status still intact. Whew! Come on Mariotta! Go Bucs!
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:40 pm
And the Tv guys were playing up the bears like they really did something ” My ass they got two cheap TDs cause of our lousy quarterback. You see after that they never got across.mid field again. And the fumble call on VJ was BS.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:40 pm
I have said it for weeks now. This offense can’t score more than 14 points. So this week they can’t even do that. Take it as you wish. 14 offensive points will NOT get it done. They kill themselves one way or another. So don’t lose sleep over them until they look like a team. maybe 5 years from now!
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:45 pm
@ Matt B
Agreed on the D. I still have little confidence in Lovie, but whatever he’s changed on Defense in the last few games (no, I highly doubt it’s trading Barron) seems to have improved the unit from downright atrocious to OK/average. Not that it’s enough to hang his hat on, but it does show some improvement somewhere on this (overall) horribly coached team. Might even be enough to save his and Frazier’s jobs?
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:49 pm
This organization, coaching staff and its players are overmatched at every turn. They some how managed to get a 10 point lead then decide to try and sit on it for the rest of the game.. Yeh that has never f*ckin worked with this team and never will. They say the league is all about offense. I give you the Tampon Bay Yuccaneers. London please take this sh&t show out of Tampa.
November 23rd, 2014 at 5:53 pm
Why does this team find ways to mess themselves up?? The famous watch continues.
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:03 pm
My little confidence in Lovie vote last time just got littler.
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:12 pm
Please, McCown made a handful of plays that the beloved Glennon could only dream of making. Yeah, he screwed up royally a few times, still did way better than Glennon could possibly do.
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:23 pm
The whole game changed attitude after Evans ignorant in the face penalty.
All it did was fire up there bears and then Evans moped around for a while afterwards.
How stupid
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:23 pm
Omameh is the worst guard I’ve ever seen.
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:30 pm
@ Brandon
Dunno about McCown making plays Glennon could only dream of except maybe some scrambling ones. McCown’s decision making is about the same as Glennon’s and his ball security is worse. Not a great endorsement for a 12 year vet when compared to a 2nd year player.
November 23rd, 2014 at 6:41 pm
The bucs will start turning it around when they fire the coaching staff
November 24th, 2014 at 12:34 am
Bucs defense give up 3/3 in red zone efficiency. And no sacks after the first quarter.
Turn those 21 points into just 9 and they win the game. Sorry but they share plenty of blame.
But so much to go round. O-line put Butters under constant pressure. Butters played panic-ball like Trent Dilfer’s ghost. And a running game? we don’t need no stinkin’ running game!
