McCown: Offense Now More Complete

The Bucs’ passing game, well, Joe holds his breath whenever Josh McCown/Mike Glennon goes back to pass. The run game? Thought the Bucs gave up on that.
Still, since he was reinstated to the starting lineup, McCown believes the offense is more complete than it has been this season.
“I felt that way during the game Sunday and part of the emotion for me was because I felt like we did everything we talked about doing,” McCown said. “For me, I played the game mentally the way I wanted to play, and then to come up short at the end and have those things happen, it was just so disappointing.
“I think we are closer to that now than we’ve been, and none of us, certainly, envisioned that happening this late in the season, but, at the same time, when you’re building something and trying to put things together, you want to see that start happening, so we feel good about doing that. Now the thing is that we have to go do it again and become consistent with it.”
To be fair, Joe didn’t expect McCown to come out and claim the Bucs offense couldn’t hack it in the Big Ten. Still, this offense is far from complete.
The passing game is unpredictable; the towel has been thrown in on the running game since halftime of the Cleveland game. If Joe hears one more time the plug has been pulled on the running game because backup fullback Luke Stocker got hurt, he’s going to jump out the window.
When the quarterback is the leading rusher, Joe dares suggest the offense is far from complete.

He’s not lying, the offense is complete…complete dog sh!t just like the defense. I guess that means the Buccaneers are a complete team now?

Huh. So he meant to throw two picks and getting lucky with his sloppy play early in the game, showing no respect for ball possession?
Maybe they really are tanking!!

It only look like it was half way acceptable, because they played the worst Pass Defense in the NFL. I am surprised that Joe did not say they took a step forward like he did when the defense played the vikings ( who may be the worst offense if not for the Bucs!).
The sad thing is that not many realize how soft this schedule has been! how bad to not even mediocre teams with missing their impact players that the Bucs have faced and they are still this bad. This team is being made to look better than it is!

@realist – Oh I realize how soft the schedule has been. There have only been 1 or two games that we shouldn’t have won if this team were even a middle of the road team. We should be one of the teams that they are saying whose record doesn’t indicate how good the team actually is because the schedule has been so soft. Unfortunately, we’ve been so bad that we haven’t even been able to take advantage of one of the softest schedules we’re going to see for a long, long time.

McCown is absolute correct when he stated the offense is more complete, he just forgot to mention the last word “Failure”, so just so no one misses it “Complete Failure”. This is not on Mike Evens, VJax or even ASJ or any of the running backs, this is on the plays, coaching, and QBs plus most of the OL.

Well after watching the games this year I’ve come to one simple conclusion. Talent shows up on the field. We just do not have enough of it to compete successfully at the NFL level. Until that is corrected we will languish, regardless of how ‘complete’ the players feel their offense/defense is becoming.

The Josh McCown led Bucs have yet to score more than 17 points in any game. Other teams score that much in the 1st quarter, easily.

WHAT THE HELL? MIKE GLENNON HAD MAYBE ONE GAME THAT WAS THAT DECENT AND HAS PLAYED LIKE GARBAGE ALL YEAR LONG…..WHERE IS THE HATE FOR MCCOWN COMING FROM, I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY OUR FANS ARE SO SLOW. MCCOWN CLEARLY PUT UP BETTER NUMBERS THAN GLENNON HAS ALL YEAR IF YOUR INTO STATS. THOSE INTERCEPTIONS THAT CAME AT THE (END) OF THE GAME AT A POINT WHERE YOU HAVE TO FORCE THE ISSUE ARENT AS BIG A DEAL AS THROWING FOR 55 YARDS IN AN ENTIRE HALF LIKE GLENNON DOES.
FINE MCCOWN SUCKS BUT THE GUY ON THE BENCH IS THERE FOR A REASON AND THAT REASON IS HE IS 10 TIMES WORSE THAN MCCOWN….QUARTERBACK OF THE FUTURE YES FOR SOME OTHER TEAM

Seeing how our OC is basically just a kid. It’s almost impossible to take anything for real when anyone from the offense speaks. It’s all just mumbo jumbo to me.
When the defense talks? Hell I gave up on their mumbo jumbo weeks and weeks ago.
It’s all just blah, blah, blah. First it was from the defensive players, now it’s offenses turn to tell you things are going to get better.
I don’t believe a damn thing anyone on this team says anymore, because the talk never shows up on the field.

What are you talking about bucs4lyfe? When Glennon was playing QB he put up 17 or more pts every game except for the Minnesota game. So what is this talk that Glennon hasn’t done what McCown has?
