Just Forget About Pass Rush
November 9th, 2014Joe is tired of typing it. Fans are tired of reading about it. Everyone is sick of hearing about it.
Simply put, the Bucs do not have a pass rush. Even with one of the elite defensive tackles in the game, the Bucs do not have a pass rush and cannot rush the passer.
It is high time to knock off the rhetoric. Unless or until the Bucs demonstrate a consistent ability to make quarterbacks eat dirt, they do not have a pass rush.
In the past three games, the Bucs faced teams with beat up offensive lines who were vulnerable to pass rushes. In all three games, the Bucs basically urinated in the wind trying to get a decent pass rush.
So Joe is tired of it all. The Bucs don’t have a pass rush. It is that simple. Until proven otherwise, Joe is only writing about how the Bucs cannot get to a quarterback, not that they can or will.
Time to except facts.

Lovie will have a massive hard on for Randy Gregory or Leonard Williams. Lovie will stick with McCown next year and take one of the defensive guys.

I tried to tell you Joe! there really was a reason that they had to run stunts and blitz with linebackers, safties and Secondary last year. It just makes what Coach Schiano did last year all that more impressive, because he had nothing to work with!!!

Defensive picks coming next draft

We can’t rush the passer worth a damn, but our “highest paid defensive tackle in the league,” is the most considerate player and won’t hesitate to help the other team off the ground. That counts for something.

GMC being labeled elite is an opinion not a fact.
November 9th, 2014 at 7:41 pm
So…why is the DL coach…Joe Cullen…so elite?
November 9th, 2014 at 7:47 pm
Steve White, Joe, and their ilk used to rip Schiano for his stunts, but he had no choice – he had no talent. It is painfully obvious. DUH!

Speaking of pass rush Mark Barron is having a pretty good game he just knocked Palmer out of the game. It’s all about coaching.

I guess when you make that much money you can deal w it.

JC Lovies press conferences are totally nauseating!

‘except’ facts? Might want to check on that one
November 9th, 2014 at 8:03 pm
So Joe, do you think drafting Winston with a top 5 pick is a good idea now? Maybe it might make more sense to go Defense..

I’m afraid of lovie trying to draft a qb with the first pick this year. Kinda wishing he gets some d line help through the draft, gets fired after next year (let’s be honest, next season will be another 2-14 record) and let the next head coach (lovie fired after next year) get his franchise qb. One can wish

All the media types here in Tampa mysteriously forgetting they labeled Michael Johnson an upgrade over AC. Clayborne probably has a big smile on his face
November 9th, 2014 at 9:44 pm
…lady bing errr GMC talked smack all week…anybody here the announcer say his name once against the 2nd worst offensive line in the league?
November 9th, 2014 at 9:49 pm
I did’nt any Bucs D ever get close to Ryan, strange since his O line was reported to be less than full strength.

Nah, he knows hes a ****ing bust as well. L&L simply exchange one turd in the bowl for another……

Lovie has to realize Glennon is no longterm answer and he needs to use next year having Josh tutor his real Franchise QB. Marriota is the answer. Get your pass rusher the way we got Rice years ago–free Agency. Keep Claiborne too. Take the best OT in round two and the best Guard in round three. You know where to get a MLB right off a Practise Squad. If he isn’t going to start Tanney at Safety move him to CB this week.

@Joe,
you finally get it. The Buc’s suck on both sides of the ball. And that statement refers to the coaching. The players are just not coached. The penalties, players out of position, receivers running bad routs. its embarrassing, its a league joke. The new casters around the country are laughing every week.
And Lovie keeps talking, talking, talking. Its Abbott and Castillo
and you have people posting on you site what should be done.
The operation from top to bottom is a joke.

I’d say Jerry Angelo’s stock has risen considerably after this horrible year.
The position coaches have to be called into question when these players can’t play the game correctly. Cullen would be top of my list of suspects. His resume’ stinks.

Hey Zam if I were Buc owner I think I would make a call to Mr Angelo or perhaps see if a suitcase of coin and the promise of “accomplishing something that could get you into the HOF) could get Bill Polian interested. Heck he knows the Bucs weaknesses from his Carolina days (yeah he got canned 3 years ago but WTF, he’d be an improvement over Licht). This would help stabilize us wavering fans as it would show us that the Glazers have grown a pair and have made sure that Lovie is only a coach and no longer involved in personnel decisions. Just the suggestion of Lovie making roster decisions has to be killing the season ticket renewals right now. Maybe the Glazers can shore things up with a few key firings/reassignment of duties in the coaching staff and front office.
