Johnthan Banks Is Not Satisfied
November 8th, 2014Joe knows some haters like to pick the Bucs apart. We are talking about a 1-7 team here, people. But stop with the nonsense that Lavonte David is not playing well. David is the least of Lovie Smith’s concerns.
Another player who Joe hopes Lovie has stopped worrying about is Johnthan Banks. The second-year man from Mississippi State is arguably the best cornerback on the roster.
It blows Joe’s mind that Lovie did virtually everything but go all voodoo witchdoctor to make sure that slug Mike Jenkins was starting over Banks.
Right there is when Joe started having serious doubts about Lovie. Really, Mike Jenkins?
In this video below from Buccaneers.com, Banks talks about his development as an NFL corner. In short, Banks is not satisfied until the team starts winning.

Who the hell is saying Lavonte David is not playing well? He’s head and shoulders above any player on the 53 man roster, GMC included! If he was in the press a bit more shouting then he’d get the praise he deserves.

Of our entire roster I’d say the bright spots:
– offense:
Mike Evans clearly
Austin Jenkins has had some learning humps but I like his potential that has flashed
Demar Dotson.
Gonna wait on Charles sims but I like his potential coming out I thought he was the best back in the draft.
Defense:
– McCoy
– David
– banks
– really liked mcdougle and what he’s done
– Gholston looks like a strong side lde.
– Verner looks more like a slot #2/3 cb.
What I wanna see is Kadeem Edwards and Kevin pamphile get more reps in the 2nd half along with jaquez smith at de.
I still think we need a rde off the edge and a starter next to McCoy. McDonald isn’t bad but he’s best in a rotation. We have no depth at that position inside and to be honest need to keep McCoy healthy and cutting some of his snaps down with our terrible offense. Offensively it’s clear we need a qb.
Draft :
– Mariotta or Winston. First round.
– second: best lt, rde , or DT prospect
– 3rd: BPA who we didn’t take and so on.

Somebody did say recently that David was a quiet player and not the type to voice his displeasure with his team’s play around him. I guess you could call that mild criticism.

Sanctimonious undertone here Joe.
What’s the difference between being critical or picking the Bucs apart?. It happens to 1-7 teams with a clueless, double talking HC.
His prized, hand picked FA selections, Johnson, Verner, Collins, EDS and last, but not least, McCown have contributed almost nothing this year.
And now he yanks the QOF for McCown?
Another year of suffering… you can almost hear the laughter around the league.
A Buc’s life.

Joe
The good players we have are very good, but like you, I can’t understand the playing let alone the keeping of others.

LVD IS A BEAST. SPEAKS WITH HIS PLAY

You guys can give free passes all you want to David, but his pass drops and pass coverage have been subpar to say the least. More than anything, he along with the other LBs, have been frequent suckers for play-action, often getting caught way too far towards the line-of-scrimmage while a TE releases and slants or posts behind them.
David is a monster against the run, against the pass, he’s barely been adequate. On a good pass defending team, he’d likely be the weak link.
