Goldson Doesn’t Share McCoy’s Loser Approach
November 7th, 2014After Sunday’s nut-kick loss to the Browns, Gerald McCoy spoke out and said he didn’t think anybody on his team is upset enough about losing.
Dashon “Hawk” Goldson was not on board with that call.
Speaking last night on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Hawk offered candid feedback on McCoy’s take.
Goldson prefers a more professional approach to losing.
“I don’t agree with what he said but I understand where he was coming from,” Hawk said. “I just think, we have a lot of football left, one. I think everybody is a little upset about losing or where we are, you know what I’m saying. But it’s like people don’t dwell on what they can’t control. You know, it’s time to move on, suck it up. We lost. We can’t do nothing about that besides correct the film, learn the mistakes you made and move forward.
“I understand you don’t have to mope around just because we lost a game. Me personally, if we lose a game, I’m upset, of course, but I’m not going to act like it’s the end of the world. I’m definitely going to have sit back and reflect and see what happened and just move on from there.
“I don’t need to be negative or walking around all sad. But I feel exactly where [McCoy] is coming from. Some people handle wins and losses different.”
For those who missed it, here is McCoy’s take: “I don’t think anybody is upset enough with losing. Every time the game is over we sit here and say, “Oh, they made a play, we didn’t. When are we going to get tired of that?”
Joe suspects other Buccaneers disagreed with McCoy or, perhaps, weren’t happy about his comments. (See Da’Quan Bowers).
Joe’s got a solution. Win.

Goldson needs to get a clue, number one theres not alot of football left at least for him in Tampa and there is something you can control and that is receptions which right now are out of control against the Tampa Bay secondary. He for one should be mad as hell the Bucs secondary is getting torched with regularity. It looks like McCoy is dead on. If Goldson has this approach like “oh well” no wonder we have a terrible secondary. When you talk to Verner at least he sounds mad about it. Goldson needs to go, overpaid and uinderperforming.

A lot of football left? Mr Goldson, your team is ****ing 1-7 if you have not noticed. And people being a little upset is an understatement unless you are talking about a lot of the players and staff in the Tampa Bay Locker room who with the exception of GMC think that everything is okay and perhaps the Bucs a re a tad behind the learning curve… Christ at least GMC spoke out and let us fans know that not everyone is cool with the other team always making the key play! Joe is right, win a damned game Bucs; you’ve had numerous opportunities at home and on the road this season with a lead in the 4th quarter in 4 of the lost (Rams, Vikes, Saints, Browns) games that were p!ssed away with ineptitude, conservatism and poor play….. Even a mediocre team would pull down 2 of those games as a win…. To quote crazy Al Davis; “Just Win Baby” and all your probs will go away…..

How many pick offs has the Hawk plucked since coming to the Bucs. I only remember one, maybe two. Talk about over paid and over rated, he could propel his helmet into other players helmets with more gusto and still walk away with millions. He is in a fraternity, don’t criticize your bros trying to make a living.
November 7th, 2014 at 11:46 am
spoken like a low performance getting paid “baller”…
November 7th, 2014 at 11:49 am
The Hawk got paid, still doesn’t know that helmet to helmet isn’t allowed, and has become pretty useless……He is the poster child for the state of this defense.

And here is where all the fun begins! Teammates turning on eachother. Thanks Lovie!

You know what I took from that?
GERALD MCCOY is the MAN!!
He loves the Bucs so much, he walks around SAD after losing!!! He cares!!!!
Gerald just signed a HUGE contract,
and now he cares even MORE.
Gerald is the king of Tampa.
I BELIEVE!
Go BUCS!

I’m not interested in which players on the team are handling losing the right way. Them being upset about losing or resolute about losing hasn’t done anything to effect the next game on the schedule being a loss.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:07 pm
Dashon will be GONE!!!
By bye headhuunter.
I dont why Dom ever signed you!
i remember Josh Freeman say in a preseason interview that Dashon, “goes hard, day and night” with this little smirk.
We paid Dashon and then he checked out. Like Eric wright. another lazy selfish thug diva.
LaVonte David is Buccaneer like Shelton Quarrels.
Gerald McCoy is a Buccaneer like Chidi Ahanatu.
We need Bucs like Dunn and Alstott.
i want to build a team of Character and HEART.
NO MORE DIVAS!!!!!

The “Crawk” is perfectly fine with cashing his $8mil and not making any plays on Sunday.
He’s so cool!
Hope you save that “paper” Crawk cause you’ll be out of here playing for the veteran minimum within 2 years.
What a joke.
Go Sucs!

Goldson understands where McCoy is coming from, but he handles losing differently. Translation-I know McCoy is upset with losing, but I’m getting paid and that makes it a lot better. Can’t wait till Goldson’s salary is off the books, he should’ve been shipped to the Eagles for a 7th.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:10 pm
Goldson. leave and take lovie with you
November 7th, 2014 at 12:11 pm
On a side note that is way more interesting.
Richie Incognito Miami Jerseys are selling for a lot more than Jonathon Martin Miami Jerseys.
oh yea….Fire Lovie
November 7th, 2014 at 12:13 pm
Goldson’s attitude is simple……oh well, I got mine~
I was hyped about this guy coming from SF, with his 2 pro bowls, the hard hitting and all that…..but as a leader, he sucks too. You can tell he’s in his own bubble, GMC however is taking that roll (leader) by trying to wake some people up, but also very much practicing what he preaches.
Goldson, one day you can say you played in the NFL……..and PLAYED the NFL!
November 7th, 2014 at 12:13 pm
If you win, you won’t had to act inappropriately about a loss. Winning is the only way to show you hate losing.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:24 pm
Who cares as long as I’m getting paid like a pizimp…
Dollar dollar bills y’all!!!
November 7th, 2014 at 12:28 pm
McCoy is right. To quote the movie Water Boy, “they need tackling juice”. During the week, watch film, correct mistakes and game plan like Goldson said. Come game day, that anger from losing needs to drive those guys to another level.
I remember a Bucs article in 2002 where Sapp talked about how Rod Marinelli use to make a different motivational video prior to each game to inspire them. One video showed how a pack of lions went after their prey. Sapp and the other ate that up on game day and played like they were the lions and their opponent was the prey …. it was their tackling juice. It drove them on game day to another level.
They need to play with that type of fire in those guys.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:29 pm
I dont understand the “we watch the film and correct things” statement. Why haven’t things been corrected yet? How much more film do you need to watch to understand that our defense is horrible! Be upset, be angry, be something better! At least McCoy sounds upset that we aren’t winning. Goldson sounds like he is getting paid no matter what happens.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:44 pm
Kevin my old coach used to show us crazy videos and it does work come game time. I thinkanybody who makes comments like Dashon need to go. He does not care passionately like us fans or McCoy and therefore we dont want him on our team. Anybody who has played the game would know you have to want to destroy and hurt the opponent to win. You have to enstill fear in the opponent. During the gladiator times you fought for your life. These guys are lucky they dont have to do that. Where is the HEART?
November 7th, 2014 at 12:47 pm
I for one feel so bad for these guy’s. They must have to wipe their tears with hundred dollar bills. The real crime and who I personally feel sad for is that idiot in the beer commercial with Sapp. He probably wants to burn that pirate ship right about now.
November 7th, 2014 at 12:57 pm
“harmony” in the locker room is not exactly the feeling I get
November 7th, 2014 at 12:58 pm
Hasn’t GMC heard the news….the other Buc players are tanking deliberately so they can pick Winston…..what a dummy!! He just got a huge contract….why should he give a $hit.
Glennon tanked the Cleveland game and look what it got him!!!
ASJ fumbled on purpose in OT…..a team player….according to the tank mob!
LOSERS…

He and every other loser attitude will be gone next season.
November 7th, 2014 at 4:24 pm
@josephmama lmfao!!!
November 7th, 2014 at 4:49 pm
Did Goldson get fined for the helmet to helmet hit last week? I saw 2 or 3 plays like that that weren’t called or penalized but should have been according to the current pansy-ass rules. Figured there would be some fines coming down as a result. I didn’t hear of any – did I miss that?
November 7th, 2014 at 5:28 pm
Joe Mamma that’s why I’m indignant to injuries…sure it can’t be helped….all I know that our biggest free agents and the only supposed forward thinking coach this team has ever hired have zero value this week…don’t care why…these millionaires are absolutely worthless to this team TODAY and on Sunday…
I will NEVER feel bad for people getting paid for NOTHING
November 7th, 2014 at 7:13 pm
Your team is 1 – 7, doesn’t look like there’s much “correcting of film”
November 8th, 2014 at 8:52 am
” I think everybody is a little upset about losing”
That’s the problem, Dashon.
(Another great headline for you, Joe)
