More Cold Water Poured On Charles Sims

Just like Lovie Smith did Monday night, the head coach poured cold water on the prospects of rookie running back Charles Sims making his debut today.
During his weekly weekend video chat with Scott Smith on Buccaneers.com, Lovie talked about Sims and said he’s coming along.
“In the next couple of weeks, we feel we can get him on the football field,” Lovie said.
That sure doesn’t sound like a guy ready to carry the rock today coming off August ankle surgery. Sims officially was re-activated yesterday after practicing the past two weeks.
As much as Joe would like to see Sims today, Joe hopes the Bucs are cautious with the rookie. It also might be beneficial to see what Mike James has to offer.

Lovie seems to love to play games with the media boys. Its one of the few things he seems to like this season

The answer is in throwing, not running, are you sure that Lovie was not watching the Running Wild series in his basement instead of football, because everything is exposed?

If Lovie says he is not ready, then he will probably get 20+ touches; simply misdirection to make the Browns think about something besides the one dimensional crap they have seen from Tampa all season….. Of course if the Bucs succeed on offense its almost a guarantee that the defense will revert back to its #32 ranking and get schooled for 500 yards by the Browns….

So if Sims ‘blows up’ on his first carry/catch, does Lovie feed him the ball, or sit him down so he won’t get tired?
BTW, has he named a ‘starting’ QB for the game?

Sims should be parked for the year. He can’t make much of a difference with the crap in front of him. Why burn him or risk him to reinjuring the ankle. Year is gone, sit the injured guys.

I disagree with sitting Sims. He’s a rookie who needs to get used to the speed and complexity of the NFL. The speed difference, between college and pro is significant. Also, because of the short ‘life’ of a college player, the defenses are not as complex. Sims needs to learn how to ‘read’ a defense, and know what his response should be.
I’m not saying I’d feed him the ball 25+ times a game, but he really needs the experience. If nothing else, the Bucs need to see where he can help them.

We should bench sims so he doesn’t get hurt? What kind of crap logic is that? Should we bench lavonte David so he doesn’t get hurt too? Some peoples opinions are laughable.

So on one hand he needs experience and to get used to the pro game, on the other, sit him not to possibly sustain another/further injury. What? I’m confused, u people talk like Lovie does. Lol
