Hang On To The Ball!
October 29th, 2014Usually, the Browns are in the basement of the NFL, a laughing stock for years. A punching bag.
This year under first-year coach Mike Pettine, the Browns are winning and bring a 4-3 record into Sunday’s game when the Bucs travel to cold Cleveland.
Remember how Lovie Smith used to harp on turnovers? Well, that will be vital this week, specifically not coughing up the ball like lung butter in the morning after too many beers in a smokey dive bar the night before.
Last week, in a 23-13 win over the hapless Raiders, the Browns scored 17 points on turnovers. In the last two games, the Browns have played Bucs-like bad teams the Raiders and Jags, forcing six fumbles.
If the Bucs hope to win, they cannot play Santa Claus.

Maybe a motivational “Bite the Ball” speech from Schiano would help!!!

Sad day when we refer to the Bucs as a “garbage” team, hapless, but alas I cannot argue with you Joe.
It’s just that the truth hurts. It could be worse. Instead of being a fan I could suffer the humiliation of actually being a player on this joke of a team.

First year coach mike pettine has his team winning? Impossible! It takes time to win. New coach, new regime. For God sake they were a 4-12 football team last year. You’d have to be a completely ignorant stupid moron to believe a team can win under those circumstances.

TBBF,
It most certainly couldn’t hurt.
Can we get a Schiano tackling circuit added to Lovie Dovie’s practice menu?

DB55,
I hope One Love and Buccaneer Bonzai read your post.
Truer words have not been uttered on this blog.
Why do the Bucs stink? Can we get some Accountability? Dom? Lovie? Licht?
Everyone was really really quick to put a fork in Schiano. Now, time to own up, but excuses keep pouring out.
And to think, Schiano had to overcome MRSA and Freeman-Gate last year, and still managed to get 4 wins. IMPRESSIVE, especially when watching our clown uniform jestures getting torched on Sundays.

And Pettine came in after the Browns fired a coach after a year. Firing a coach after 1 year is admitting you made a mistake, recognizing it, and correcting it. Hopefully the Glazers can do the same.

I still hope for the best every week.

You could call this Bucs team a mistake travelling to the mistake by the lake.

DB55 – I agree!
Seems like Pettine (isn’t he a first time head coach in the NFL? and I thought first time head coaches were crap. huh!) uses his players to their strengths…
Who knows what their record will be at the end of the year but I’ve watched them a couple of games and Cleveland plays hard for their coach.
We can only dream of 4-3 record.

You guys really are a bunch or for ones. The Browns were 3-3 last year when they lost starting QB Brian Hoyer to a season ending knee injury. They then finished 1-9.
You think that might have something more to do with their record this year than superior coaching. You idiots should all become statisticians so you can bend numbers to whatever supports your prejudiced beliefs.

“coughing up the ball like lung butter in the morning after too many beers in a smokey dive bar the night before.”
Great one liner Joe.
