“None Of Them Are Terminal”
October 22nd, 2014Don’t worry, Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans, the woeful offense can be fixed.
After rewinding all kinds of game film during the bye week, de facto offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo issued that address today.
Speaking before practice at One Buc Palace, Arroyo explained that everything leading to the Bucs averaging less than five points in the first halves of games can rectified.
“We can, the snafus that we’ve had and the setbacks that we’ve had are all fixable. That’s the thing. None of them are terminal,” Arroyo said. “And that’s the good part. That’s the reality of it is we can fix them. And how we fix them has got to be expounded on this week.”
So the offensive troubles are fixable. Now what?
Obviously, much of what ails the Bucs has to do with the offensive line getting pushed around and receivers failing to catch the football, as well as running backs showing they can make a defender miss.
That’s stuff that’s difficult for a coach to repair. That stuff must come from within.
Joe’s hoping the bye week injected more want-to in the Bucs offense.

As cliche as it is, it all starts up front. Until we start blocking better, we aren’t going to do any better offensively. The problem isn’t that we have to make a defender miss, it’s that we have to make 3 defenders miss. The Qb has to get rid of the ball before he wants to, and even the rare times when he does have time, you know his mental clock is ticking fast because he’s used to getting popped so early. So yes, it’s fixable if we learn how to block better. To me, that’s the only real problem. We may not have the greatest offensive weapons in the league, but we are at least above average in my opinion. This offensive line must step up, and preferably before the third quarter.

Terminal…..maybe not but futile nontheless…..we need a different gameplan….why have a no-huddle and wait around to snap?…..Why run on 1st & 10 when it hasn’t worked for years…..Why run on second and short when that is a time to play action and take pressure off the QB…..
And….why turn it over to the defense when winning the toss when they can’t stop a parked car?
Marcus…..you have absolutely nothing to lose (over your head)…..just let it fly for God’s sake!!!

Our fate lies with Arroyo and Lovie’s terrible defense he assembled.

It’s Lovie’s gameplan to defer the opening kickoff if the Bucs win the coin toss. I gave up on thinking he might take the ball first. If it works don’t fix it, if it don’t work fix it already.

I bet our defense plays some good ball this weekend and it is because we got someone to take leonard Johnson spot

I’d like to see Arroyo step up like he is in charge of things this week instead of simply being a “fill-in” coach
Forget this conservative “Prevent offense ” stuff
Open up the playbook and ATTACK for once

Melman, there are so few open receivers, but when they are open, how about throwing to them?
