Yes, Lovie Smith stood tall at the One Buc Palace podium this afternoon and took all kinds of questions from assembled media.
Joe’s already shared Lovie’s takes on Mike Glennon and Lovie’s effort to quash any quarterback controversy without actually quashing it.

Why did you take a year off again? To learn how to improve what you do? BUT, you are doing the SAME thing you used to do. What is the definition of crazy? Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different result?

While I don’t think anyone blindly follows Lovie Smith, I do think most fans are willing to give him a chance to succeed. What we are dealing with is unmet expectations….most of us felt that the

What we are dealing with is unmet expectations….most of us felt that the mchaassive personnel changes coupled with the change at Coach & GM along with the draft would bring instant success.
We were somewhat misled by expectations from many in the media and chose to b believe the positive predictions.
Others felt it would take at least a year. I’m resigned to the fact that it will take a while.

Im all for Lovie. Unfortunately, he has to tote the burden of the Bucs losing history over the last decade. Tampa fans are tired of the excuses and more importantly, tired of getting their hopes up. Hopefully they get it figured out, or at least be more realistic with the fans and be up front about how long it could take to master the scheme. They want fans in the stands, but who wants to sit in the Florida sun and watch the Bucs get mauled by some no name qb on a nobody team? Bucs fans have run out of patients, but thats on L & L and all the “win now” talk. They got us all jacked up, ready to rumble and then came out and laid a big fat turd on the field.

I just hope Lovie’s insistence on his defense doesn’t set the Bucs back a couple of years. Even learning a new system, I’m surprised how bad the defense has been. And his game day coaching decisions have been questionable. Nevertheless, I’m all for seeing who can play in the remaining games so we know who to keep and dump for next season. I’d like to see them deal before the trade deadline also. As fans, we’ll need to treat this season as an audition for 2015. We just want to see improvement from week to week.

We have no shot at the playoffs and now let’s see what Glennon’s got. Wait didn’t we do this a year ago?
Bucs games are like a prostate exam… need to get it done but awfully uncomfortable to sit through.

The state of the bucs? A laughingstock. The worst team in the NFL, second only to Jacksonville? I searched “bucs” on Twitter last night even though I don’t Twitter. You should read what people across the planet think of us. It’s quite hilarious actually. All you can do laugh.

DB55…you might have already seen my Forrest Gump analogy when it comes to this team. “You never know what your going to get.” I won’t make predictions anymore with this team on this site, not right now at least. I can tell you that I did have the Bucs losing to the Saints 38-17 and was surprised how much they were in the game. Surprised they had an 11 point lead at one point.
I’m just going to say this I’m 65% sure they will bounce back with a win this Sunday.

All i want is to compete and except for the Falcons game they have done that, I will always love this team and will continue. If this was year 3 of Lovies team i would be a lot more skeptical of what is going on. Dom really set this team back with his terrible drafts…

Yeah, we aren’t winning.
But every squad on this team shows promise. Every unit has positive elements.
I’m gonna give Lovie this year, with my support. I really, honestly believe things are greatly improved.
I think the Tedford fiasco really crippled this offense. We may never know the story- but we have to address O.C.
Everything else? Yeah. I’m feeling positive
Even Mark Barron has his first good game as a Buc.
Sometimes, you just gotta have faith, the boat is being piloted in the right direction.

Chill. Relax.
MG has two games under his belt this year. We beat the Steelers and took the Saints to OT. Despite what Lovie does, or does not say, we have our QB and the year is not lost.

This coach will never be anything more than you see now.
Not sure what everyone was watching but this team is completely lost and it is directly on the head coach Lovie.
We will never be a contender with him in charge.

Then Lovie squatted down, smelled it for a while and got and said that it was in fact a turd.
I was amongst those who were thinking we would have a decent season. I’m letting Lovie play the season out but next year i expect to see some considerable improvement.

Lovie seems to make mistakes. I don’t understand why he doesn’t go after that last possession before halftime with less than a minute. A field goal can be the difference in a game. I believe in him overall until he proves us wrong. He has a good track record. Overall hell be graded on wins. In optimistic about our young talent. I think David gmc Glennon Dotson Evans asj is a nice collection!!
