Joe has written a few times today how Pittsburgh folks are unhinged at the Bucs beating the Steelers. The passion of the football crowd up here is true.
So, to give you a taste, below is video segment from a WPXI-TV Sunday sports roundtable show in which the three panelists all but want Steelers coach Mike Tomlin gone because Lovie Smith beat him. LOL.
Also, Joe enjoyed the outrage Mark Madden had at Louis Murphy making the key play in the game-winning drive. Enjoy!
Joe sure wishes there was a sports show like this on Sunday nights in the Tampa Bay area.

everyone. Steelers are 18-19 since losing to Tim Tebow in the playoffs, that’s an average team, these panelists are acting like they still have Chuck Noll’s dynasty playing….. Pittsburgh needs a reality check.

He is terrible. In fact I blame him for getting Raheem hired. The Bucs wanted their own Mike Tomlin, somehow they thought it was Raheem. Whoops. So thanks Mike Tomlin.
But no seriously he’s not that good a coach. Was gifted a ready made team by Cowher and couldn’t do anything long term with it. Super Bowl is nice but he should have done much better long term. They look like the Cowboys East now, perpetual 8-8.

I always love how a guy that’s “fresh off the soup line” can’t possibly make a play. And if he does it’s because the other team let him do it and it’s the worst thing that could possibly happen and the whole team should be cut or fired.
The NFL has hundreds of stories of guys who were cut a couple of times or undrafted before landing somewhere and making an impact.
Wes Welker? Kurt Warner? Hell even these idiot Steelers fans were beneficiaries of one of the best guy off the street stories ever…Tommy Maddox came off the street and took them to the all the way to the playoffs.
Just like when the Bucs lost to two backup QB’s, just because a guy is a backup or off the street it doesn’t mean he can’t be ready to jump on his opportunity.

I despise when people say they win with another team, especially in this case. Steelers won 3 years after Cowher retired, that’s an eternity in the NFL. Cowher was an average to below average coach for many years. Ownership likes stability unlike most franchises.

As Patrickbucs said in a much nicer way, what an absolutely STUPID argument. Are you freaking kidding me? He won a Super bowl with a much different team than Cowher. Do you have any idea how good you have to be to win a Super Bowl? I don’t care if you are given a team full of All-Pros, it is incredibly hard and you don’t get there being a bad coach.
I swear, some people on this site drive me freaking crazy. They just have to post ridiculous, ignorant, negative comments, and when they are called on these statement, they come up with BS reasonings like this! Unbelievable. Whatever dude, I’m literally laughing out loud at you right now. Tomlin can’t coach, neither can Lovie, neither can Jon Gruden (after all, you probably believe he won with Dungy’s team), Dungy can’t coach either (he was gifted a team with Peyton Manning), Andy Reid can’t coach (he’s never won a Super Bowl) , John Harbaugh can’t coach (he was gifted a great defense), and even Pete Carroll can’t coach (he failed in New England). You’ve got it buddy, none of these guys are any good.

Pittsburgh got old, and they are in the process of retooling. Most of their best players are getting old, and their new guys are still young. It happens to any and every team. At least Pittsburgh has managed to not go 3-13 or 4-12 like some other franchises (ahem). But nah, they’ve had a couple 8-8 seasons, so the coaching is terrible. I mean, they should be 12-4 every year because they have so many studs on their team. It’s easy to go 12-4, and if you don’t do it every year, you’re a bad coach. (I hope you can detect the sarcasm, because I’m laying it on pretty thick)

Lovie beat him? Please. Lovie did nothing. Pittsburgh beat themselves. That’s part of the game and the Bucs capitalized on their mistakes, but a ton of personal fouls, hands to the face penalties, and a gift wrapped fumble with a short field are how the Bucs won.
Tomlin should be vilified for how unprepared the Steelers were. They played sloppy, made tons of mistakes, and lost the game because of it. The Bucs took advantage, but it Pittsburgh has penalties in the range of the Bucs (50-60 yards) and didn’t fumble at the open, the Bucs probably would have never even been in the game.
The Steelers are hurt, old, and undisciplined. And the Bucs still barely were able to beat them. The game didn’t really speak well to either team. Neither is very good and both will likely finish in last place in their division. The Browns would have pounded the Steelers if they didn’t take the first half off in their game. This isn’t the Steeler team of old.
The Bucs need to string together some good games before I believe they are getting better.

Pittsburgh fans are rabid, no doubt (unless you are talking about losing Pirates teams). They are also spoiled and arrogant. To lose to Tampa was unthinkable here. Heard it all day today, lucky. Lucky win. -Suck it up!!! Your team came out and was not ready to play or took the opposition too lightly! First 2 offensive drives showed that. Imo Steelers win 9 out of 10 times head to head. This was the 1 out of 10 they don’t. And Tomlin is an awesome coach. Go ahead. Fire him. Good luck finding better!

LMAO… Get used to this guys. Every time Glennon beats someone the local media and fans of that team are going to call for their coaches head! This is going to be the best part of winning this season! Hearing these reactions should have all of us laughing and enjoying our week! Great work joe!! The giraffe did it again! People don’t like losing to the lions and the bears, BUT everybody hates losing to the giraffe!!

Maybe Tomlin was paying an old debt to Lovie and letting them get their first W. An immediate responses is “yah it sucks to lose to a non winning team when you are considered a Super Bowl caliber group”, but in the long run and the big picture this loss means nothing to the Steelers. Our teams are not in the same conference to it wont hinder any tie breakers moving forward for the Steelers to earn a playoff berth. While this really give Lovie a chance to get this program off the ground.
Who knows i always feel half the games i watch are rigged in some form or fashion anyways. In the end a W is a W for the Bucs, I personally don’t care how mad the Steeler-Nation is. This gave this group of men so much confidence moving forward I hope it is a tilting point in the season.

I love when Fans get up in arms about a lose. Maybe it’s because i’ve been a life long Bucs fan and losing just kind comes second nature.
But when the Bucs lose I’ve always stood by and even called out their mistakes and never said it was just luck one way or another. Fans need to take it like a man and own up to their teams short comings, God knows we Buc fans have. that’s why there is a very famous saying, ” On any given Sunday” There is no lucky wins, Simply a team was more prepared and hungry for the win than the other, on that given Sunday.

Tomlin was handed a franchise QB. A #1 Defense with one of the best D cord in the game. Hines Ward and other pro bowl & HOF players. One of the best drafting head offices that Tomlin has hardly any say in who they draft. One of the deepest teams where top drafted Lb’s & other high drafted players don’t even play till at least year 3.Put him on the Raiders or even the Bucs and see what he would have accomplished. I’m not saying he’s a bad coach but come on, this guy was handed way more than most coach’s have been handed when they get a new HC position. he’s good but great. I don’t see it. Give him most of the QB’s we’ve had, an average GM and an average D and I bet you Tomlin believers wouldn’t see him in the same light.

Yeah fire a guy who is 78–46 in his career as HC, a guy with a SB ring, whose WORST season is 8-8. Great idea.
Goes to show the some fans don’t know how good they’ve got it. For the Steelers, 8-8 is a disaster/rebuilding season. How would they handle it if they were fans of the Bucs, Chiefs, Bills, Browns or Raiders? LOL.
Luckily for these Steeler fans, their owner knows its smart to stick with a talented coach during a bad patch. They don’t know how good they have it.

I bet Tomlin would be 1-3 or 2-2 if he had the exact same team as Lovie installing a new system with ALL new coach’s with a team that went 4-12 the year before and has been bad for years. Something Tomlin has NEVER had to do.

Guy yelling on TV show with beard said the ultimate put-down to Steelers. He said they were HORRIBLE and TERRIBLE. Not both???
If Tampa had a show like that I wouldnt watch after losses…….who wants to re-live a bad day?? Isnt the WORST job in Tampa media being the guy (is it Ronnie Lane?) that has to field those angry calls from drunk Buc fans stuck in post-game traffic??

Yawn. Moronic Steeler fans and media types still think this is the 70s. Steelers were an undisciplined pack of rabble Sunday who acted like a bully does when someone isn’t afraid of them and punches them back in the nose.
We’ll the Steelers got punched back on Sunday and didn’t know how to handle it.
Highlight of the game had to be when the camera panned to the sideline after a player scored a TD but then caused his team to get a 15 yd unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and you could see the player slapping hands with another player in celebration. Stupid.
Reminded me of when our Goldson did the same thing last year with another player after he got one too.
