Clean Up The Little Things

Coaches like to talk about how, if players do the little things right, bigger things will follow. And it is true.
Last week the Bucs turned the ball over. Those can be stopped. The Bucs had stupid penalties. Those can be stopped. Bad tackling? Freaking wrap up rather than going for a kill shot. Simple.

They need a lot more than just cleaning up the small stuff. For starters, they need a Franchise QB to use the reps being wasted on the Albatross, who got his shot last year and failed miserably. Second, they have to have a pass rush. If Gholston can improve and McCoy can rush with his cast, it can happen this week, but not likely. I have no trust in Johnson. Our Center has to play worth his contract and the OL must develop Chemistry. Rainey needs weight training from Patton to get strong enough not to be stripped. We need our OC back to call plays and scheme our receivers open, or let Murphy start at the Slot and get open. Oh, and the other glaring need is a better MLB like Urlacher to stop the run and cover deep both. Our backup MLB is superior to Foster however and could improve with experience. As you know, I have been warning about the MLB problem for a long time. We will lose another bad loss this week, fans. Brace yourselves. I don’t see much relief until they get Sims and Tedford and Josh back and get McCoy out of his cast.

Owlykat… without the Albatross at QB this week this team is in deeper doo doo. Give Glennon a chance, he can’t be any worse than what we have seen so far.

Owlycat…off season general of the Pineapple McCown Mob. Not sure what you’ve been watching that makes you believe getting Josh back will help the team out, but as far as I can tell he’s were he’s best suited…on the sidelines holding the clipboard for Glennon

I do not get the love for Josh. We have seen a sample. I wish Glennon were faster and more evasive, but he gives the Bucs the bast chance to win if he can read and throw.
Agreed on the Mike. I long have thought Foster is well suited to the Sam but will not succeed in the middle.
Reminds me of long ago when Bill Russell saw a reflection of himself in Spencer Heywood. Russell coached the Seattle SuperSonics under his favorite scheme — “Run or die!” He put 6’8″ Heywood against Nate Thurmond on an average night and Chamberlin or aka bar on a regular basis. Dude could not hold up to the pounding at center. The scheme crashed.
Here I think Foster will not crash but will not work as MLB. Another prospect will have to come in and step up.
