“Full Speed” On Monday For Jeff Tedford
September 20th, 2014Joe’s pulling for offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford to get healthy. Seeing him coach again soon would be nice, too.
Lovie Smith, in a new video on Buccaneers.com. offered hope for Tedford’s speedy return.
Bucs staff writer Scott Smith sat down with Lovie and asked the head coach to comment on Tedford returning back at “full speed” on Monday, Sept. 22. And Smith asked about the potential impact of Tedford’s return. Lovie didn’t back off the question, which he’s done previously.
“It’s like when you lose a starter and you have a backup player, a backup plan, a backup player move in, it’s still not the original way that you wanted it. So it would be definitely a plus to get Jeff back,” Lovie said.
Joe will believe in Tedford’s return when he sees him working at practice and taking on full coordinator duties, but certainly this was encouraging to have appear on the Bucs’ official website late last night.

Thanks Joe, Lets hope..
September 20th, 2014 at 8:39 pm
Hopefully hes bringing the other 98 percent of our offense back with him. Seeing a functioning game plan is just what the fat man ordered.
September 20th, 2014 at 8:58 pm
If the offense is lackluster and sloppy it’s going to get uglier.
How is that possible?
September 20th, 2014 at 9:05 pm
How about a beer update, Joe? Last I heard, you were drinking Michelob Dark or something. We need to know how the latest Bucs’ developments are affecting your drinking choices. I’ve been diving into Belgian ales myself.

Funny how Jeff Tedford clears himself when the Real Starting QB is named the starter!
September 20th, 2014 at 9:38 pm
Been hearing Mondayfor 3 weeks….did they say which Monday ?
September 20th, 2014 at 9:44 pm
I don’t believe Lovie –
He’s lost a lot of trust with me
September 20th, 2014 at 9:51 pm
Glennon starting. Tedford in a long week to game plan. We may just see some improvements next Sunday.
September 20th, 2014 at 9:53 pm
Tedford can not fix heart! It amazes me how much quit this team has in it. Besides a handful of players on the D the rest of these guys are running around waiting for someone else to make a play. Great D’s swarm to the ball and great O’s are aggressive as well. To many of these guys looked like they would rather be sipping a cocktail on the beach. It takes pride to do ANY job and it seems to me there is VERY little pride on this team. Mostly money grabbers who feel they’ve put in their time. Like every business you have employees who are complacent!
September 20th, 2014 at 9:58 pm
It’s going to take another Hardy Nickerson (the player) to come in here and show these guys what a real professional looks and acts like. Even though Hardy was about the money he also earned every single penny.
September 20th, 2014 at 10:09 pm
Go Bucs!!
September 20th, 2014 at 10:14 pm
This guy is out of gas!
September 20th, 2014 at 10:24 pm
This tesm is dreadful. Right now they look winless
September 20th, 2014 at 10:56 pm
I wish Jeff could fix the problems we have but u can’t fix stupid
September 20th, 2014 at 11:00 pm
an absolute circus
September 20th, 2014 at 11:03 pm
Watch by some miracle Tedford’s return prompts a blowout or at least a shootout with Mike Glennon. Ha! What are the chances of that? 🙁
September 20th, 2014 at 11:23 pm
A couple of stents my a$$. I have two uncles who also had stents put in and they were fine after a week. If Tedford isn’t ready to go for the next game we need to fire his ass so he can get on the transplant list. And another performance like Thursday night and Frazier should be right behind him.
September 20th, 2014 at 11:26 pm
Ya it’s gotta be a boost – the offense has clearly been off track and fortunately mostly all the pieces are healthy. I don’t even know if I care McCown is out.
Unfortunately, our biggest problem has looked like the defense.. And last I checked that coordinator has been healthy.
September 20th, 2014 at 11:50 pm
Does it honestly who’s calling the plays and what their calling if players don’t execute? Fumbles dropped passes even the Damn defense had a turnover lol. What’s gonna happen is joe will put a positive spin on the upcoming game for the entire week then when Friday comes you’ll talk about how well get massacred. There’s nothing positive to talk about until their won a game because that’s the whole point of competition, tired of the talk during the week when playing against no one

Things have been as$ backwards, maybe we can get it flipped around and get pounded the right way..ha ha
September 21st, 2014 at 12:02 am
Tedford’s doctor must be a bucs fan and said ok you cleared now THE CANNONS back…. GO BUCS! !!!!!!
September 21st, 2014 at 12:05 am
I agree with Architect. I don’t buy it. We’ve been told full go a couple times now the he would be back but no go in the end.
I personally think he had a heart attack or something else major and believe he is pondering retirement. Lovie is buying time and is searching for his temp replacement on the current staff. I have no proof, just a gut feeling about it.
Regardless, all the white lies and half truths from Lovie has caused me to loose trust in what he says. I’ll believe it when I see it.

The problem with me is everytime I think of lovie at the helm of the ship it reminds me of george clooney in the movie perfect storm doing insane things until he sinks the ship… Really after some of his decisions I really wonder..
September 21st, 2014 at 12:39 am
Maybe not insane but Dumb for sure..^^
September 21st, 2014 at 1:20 am
I watched MLB Fletcher’s interview on bucs.com. Man, I felt bad for him.
September 21st, 2014 at 3:11 am
Talk about perfect storm.. Tampa’s got the right ideas mismatched across a bridge.
What if u had a coach of Maddons caliber directing the Bucs..
Or the free/careless spending of the Bucs, supporting Sterburg and Maddon. Price, Crawford, shields still there?!… Get u a BAT or two!! Man, it’s Christmas in my mind right now
September 21st, 2014 at 4:49 am
Right now I am very skeptical of anything coming out of One Buc Place so far. I would love to see Tedford take the playbook away from Marcus Arroyo who was 1-11 calling plays @Southern Miss last year, but when I see it I’ll believe it. Plus will Tedford actually improve the situation along with Glennon? Glennon lost a lot of starting reps thanks to the failed McNown experiment….
BTW: Mike10: if the Bucs had just 10% of Maddon’s enthusiasm and ability to think out of the ****ing conservative mold then the Bucs would have had at least one win over the Rams and perhaps even with this talent-depleted the team would be playing with some heart and determination! But unfortunately we are stuck with the Glazer lads and Licht/Lovie instead of Stu and Joe at the helm: so hell I am prepared for a long Leeman Bennett like season….
September 21st, 2014 at 4:52 am
The only logical reason Lovie kept punting to Hester is that Hester was one of Lovies boys in Chicago he just wanted to ensure that he’d have a good game and break Deons record.
September 21st, 2014 at 7:15 am
Does anybody believe what comes out of Lovie’s mouth? He has not been honest since be got here.
September 21st, 2014 at 7:38 am
What Lovie needs to understand is that when shit comes out of his mouth is that he is speaking directly to the fan base.
Idiot
September 21st, 2014 at 7:39 am
(Being sarcastic) great so the offensive coach is back! Who is going to give me back all these years wasted of loving this pitiful team? Who is going to give me back all the money i have wasted on season tix over the years? No one! Do you know why? Because its MY fault!!! It was MY choice. Just like this garbage has been the glazers choice. Lets face it this team makes a ton of money win or lose. OUR money is being funneled to the stupid ass franchise called man u! WE are paying for all the success they have had. Both in real dollars as well as the raping of our beloved bucs!!!
September 21st, 2014 at 7:43 am
Lovie show zero respect to the fan base
Loser
September 21st, 2014 at 8:02 am
Having Tedford back should give the offense some stability. Not that we’ll see a huge improvement, but there should be a noticable difference. I’m not convinced he’ll be back at full capacity until we see an energetic Tedford calling plays for entire game. I hope he’s feeling better, this team needs all the help it can get.
September 21st, 2014 at 11:41 am
I was skeptical of the Tedford hire, but it certainly cannot get any worse. I’ll be glad he’s back.
With an expended time off, maybe he can get things turned around, and at least he is accustomed to working with a young QB.
September 22nd, 2014 at 9:53 am
Marcus Mariota for quarterback , Go Bucs
September 22nd, 2014 at 11:06 am
Tedford can only help the offense. What about the defense crap. how about fire all the defensive coaches and bring in some new. It damn sure couldn’t hurt. They haven’t a freakin clue.
