Luke McCown Offers Advice
September 16th, 2014Former Chucky quarterback project Luke McCown now backs up Saints legend Drew Brees. The 0-2 Saints opened the season in Atlanta, where Tampa Bay plays on Thursday night.
So Joe thought he’d ask Josh McCown, Luke’s older brother, whether he’s getting some family assistance this week.
“To a degree, but when we talk, it’s more about what he’s seen on tape how I’m playing and things like that,” Josh McCown said. You know, he gives me little tidbits on what I’m doing, more than anything. We don’t go too far across those lines, as far as just, you know, what they’re seeing or what they’re doing. But there are times with different opponents that, yeah, we’ll talk and say, ‘Hey, who did you guys like to go after?’ You know, different things like that.”
Well that’s good to hear. And Joe surely suspects this will be one of those weeks that Luke can help Josh. And Joe’s confident the Saints would be more than happy to do anything to help the Bucs knock off the Falcons.

Seeing Chucky makes me think of the
theme to “The Way We Were”:
Memories,
Light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were
Scattered pictures,
Of the smiles we left behind
What’s too painful to remember
Is the way we were
Go Bucs!

I think coach Mike Smith could tell Josh McCheckdown who to go after and it won’t matter!!! beside who do you attack when you average passing attempt is 4.8 yards!!!

Smacks more of desperation than anything. The #1 priority is getting points on the board this week. Julio and Roddy will get their big plays no matter how good the defense is. Not the game to be conservative.

Lovie is not opening it up Thursday. His game plan will be to run the ball and control the clock and keep Atlanta’s offense of the field. Welcome to Lovieball. Might get a win, might result in a 38-10 loss. We’ll see.

Luke: from Drew Brees.

Awesome. He’s getting advice from the guy who couldn’t beat out Byron Leftwich, Josh Johnson, and Josh Freeman.

I loved Luke. I thought he deserved a shot at the starter position under Gruden. He played very well for Gruden.

When the Manning brothers talk about football it’s usually about what worked and who to go after. When the McCown brothers talk football it is more a bunch of “nope that didn’t work for me either!” sentences.
