Joe’s physically ill at the thought of the Bucs losing today to Rams third-string quarterback Austin Davis making his first career start. That’s pure garbage.
Davis carved up the Bucs, completing 22-of-29 passes for 239 yards.
Davis actually got to throw the ball on third down, unlike Josh McCown, who was neutered by his coaching staff after tossing another foolish, senseless interception early in the second quarter. Joe nearly vomited his press box hot dogs when the Bucs ran Bobby Rainey on 3rd-and-7 from the Rams’ 9 yard line. to close the third quarter. And that was after vomiting after McCown’s foolish red zone pick.
Bucs special teams weren’t special, allowing a blocked punt, and a blocked field goal in the fourth quarter.
To make matters worse, the Bucs racked up apparent significant injuries to Gerald McCoy (hand) and Mason Foster (shoulder), as well as Dashon Goldson (knee).
The Bucs are going to need a Thursday miracle in Atlanta to avoid going 0-3.
Sadly, this is a bad Bucs football team right now.

Couldn’t see the game but the QB stats speak volumes. Not part of the “MGM” but hell what harm could it do? It might actually help jump start our offense. Wasn’t happy with the McCown pickup from the get go. Piss Poor fellas… Piss Poor.

It is what I expected the moment they announced Lovie Smith (REALLY) as HC…. Adding Leslie Frazier and an unknown OC Tedford (SERIOUSLY)…. To add salt to the wound, got rid of players, brought in so-so players topped off with Josh McCown as QB (No WAY!)…. This has become the “Buc’s life!”

Clearly Lovie learned nothing from his firing and time off. This is not the 1992 NFL Lovie- you have to score more than 17pts to win even with the best D in the game- and clearly we are not that. Soft pass rush- poor game management and playcalling- guy looks like a position coach that shouldnt have ever left.

I would deactivate my starting qb every time I played the bucs if I were our opposition. Give Matty Ice a day of rest Thursday. He’s not needed. Save him for a game you might actually lose. How is it possible half our team is injured by the second game? If we didn’t have a blocked field goal, didn’t run on 3rd and 7 next to their end zone, didn’t throw short passes all game and actually took shots down the field, and finally if we maybe had a few more seconds we could’ve won this game. Just like last week, Goldson drops the sure interception. Just heartbreaking losses, reminds me a lot of last year. Oh and when the ref explained the injury ended the game at the end, is it just me or did he sound so cold when he broke the news to us that “the game is over.” He could’ve said it a little nicer, our hearts were broken again!!

The lack of time at the end was all on Lovie! After Pettis caught the 3 & 9 for the 1st down, which is when our 1st timeout should have been called immediately, there was 1:49 left on the clock. The timeout was not called until there was 1:37 left, for whatever stupid reason. Fundamental.

In my many years watching NFL football have never seen a defense of Lineman go out with a broken hand especially not after second false start Penalty. Thank God the rams suck or this would’ve been an even bigger defeat.

This loss is on Lovie and Tedford. The play calling in the red zone was atrocious.
As far as the 3rd string QB goes it wasn’t like they weren’t pressuring him and in his face all day, he played a hell if a game and was very poised. Give the kid some credit.
Once again the defense played well enough to win and the offense didn’t do their part.
Weren’t we told that the “Dunkaneers” we’re going to be unstoppable in the redzone?

Our defense has given up 20 and 19, despite getting almost no help from the offense in the form of long drives. I’m not ready to throw them under the bus just yet. Our offense scores one more touchdown each week and we’re 2-0 right now. Hell, score another field goal this week and we’re 1-1.

Hey we saw some improvement from the offense and kick returns looked strong.
It was a horrible ending, that was a hit to the head of a defensive receiver and no call! But it never should have come down to that play.
McCown is still the worst QB in the NFL. Throwing across the middle at the end of the game was a rookie mistake. He took the defenses bait.
What happened on the field goal try. Would Barth had kicked it with a steeper trajectory?
With all that, it looks like the Bucs are a defense and a QB away from competing. Hope the defense finds some depth. We look like a team looking to compete in 2016.

My crystal ball never fails me. Conservative offenses played for three quarters then hurry up n kick a field goal when we should have played for the touchdown. I thought Lovie had a year away from football to learn from his mistakes. We have nothing remotely close to a pass rush. Third and second string QBs shredding our defense apart…the worst is yet to come. McCown is Josh Freeman in disguise. Very poor coached game…and for what reason did we bring in Jeff Tedfod?

It is not our offense sad to say that blew this game. The defense can’t cover a Pop Warner receiver. Receivers are always wide open. Pathetic!!!! And can any of our receivers catch and can we please run a pattern that gives someone an opportunity to run after the catch. Lovie is not the answer, sorry his philosophy doesn’t work, we need an offensive minded coach. I don’t see us winning many this year.

Maybe just maybe the bucs lack talent. Bad decisions over the last few years have left this franchise with a lack of talent. Of the players that took the field today, five could start for another NFL team. Hate to bring on more reality but we all knew the but with all the injuries, we will see just how paper thin this franchise is. So we can all complain about lovie ball and who’s fault it is but reality is this looks like a bigger undertaking than we all realize. The bucs need to draft talent and build depth. It could be a while.

Oline, meh. Davin Joseph looked great though. Rainey made me eat some crow. McCown really is garbage, Vjax needed a boost from the cb to catch that high ass pass. Evans probably thought he was helping by going down injured.
Mason foster went down. Gholston was playing hurt. Bowers disappeared in the second half. Spence n McDonald in the middle, my worst nightmare realized (spense). How bout Leonard Johnson didn’t see him finish the game.
JLane killing dudes in run blocking. Banks played well but looked to be slowing down late in the game. David May have played his first sub-par game. That play action is really sucking in our lbs. special teams not so special I thought that was Lovies baby, the special teams.
Tuesday we back to work, haha. Gotta get better. We’ll take a look at the tape and correct our mistakes. We have to play better. Blah blah blah.

My wife (again) asks me why I choose to be fan of this team. I’ve been a Bucs fan for over three decades and I’m not sure how to answer anymore. They have found new ways to disappoint year after year. I’ll remain a fan, blindly hoping against hope that things will magically get better, but for my own sanity, I have to take a step back emotionally. A loss like this, especially to this team, on Derrick Brooks day no less, is both embarrassing and infuriating. What happened to having such legendary leaders coaching extraordinarily talented young players? Just a shameful display. Why do we still support this team? Because of a couple guys like David and McCoy?

At the end of the first half Lovie had the option to run a play…why not a hail mary to the end zone? The Rainey run on third and seven from the rams nine…why not take 2 shots to the endzone (3rd and 4th down) at this point cold we have done any worse?

Atlanta was a talented well coached team until last year when they were a poor team. The difference was injuries. Nobody said their Coach was lousy here. The point is this: we have been hit with the injury bugaboo. That is not Lovie’s fault. But despite that we have been competitive the last two games. Is anyone surprised that Stocker cost us a blocked punt? With those three points we would have won this game! Our Offensive Line was able to get Rainey 6 yards a carry, and that is a big improvement. Josh has the ability to run, getting us two touchdowns on his own, and he is a good passer, and just has to master throwing the ball away when he can’t run and he is about to go down. He does not show his age and he provides the chance to win from behind. Gholston got a sack and was a good tackler and was an approvement over Clayborn. Fletcher played as good as Foster. The team never gave up and McDonald looked good too. We just need another good DE and more depth on the DL, which I called for drafting a backup three technique, but Bowers wasn’t half bad there. Yes Lovie was too conservative in his play calling in the red zone, and Tedford needs to work on short yardage–he needs to run his FB, Lane, behind a backup guard when needing two yards for a first down. So everyone can make some easy improvements and we can begin winning some games. We only gave up one touchdown so our D was not as bad as many of you think. Tampa 2 can still work here.

Just getting home from work, and I was not exactly eager to watch the DVR in the first place, but now, after reading all these comments, I’m not sure that I’m gonna watch it AT ALL.
I also recorded the Red Zone Channel, maybe I’ll watch that instead.
