Jeff Tedford Won’t Call Plays Today

It’s official, per NFL Network.
The Jeff Tedford offense will be introduced to the NFL today without its mastermind.Tedford will attend the game but call plays.
Bucs quarterbacks coach Marcus Arroyo, a 34-year-old Tedford disciple, will be on the sidelines and the voice inside Josh McCown’s helmet.
Earlier this week, tight ends coach Jon Embree talked about the Bucs’ collaborative effort to work without — and with — Tedford.
Joe wishes Arroyo the best. It’s an incredible opportunity for the young man. Now Joe really is expecting a conservative-leaning approach.

I’m not sure anyone would think a Lovie game plan would not be conservative. How many times does he have to say he is going to win games with defense?

With two defensive teams like this, it will certainly be conservative, ground and pound style.
But I think if the Panthers bite enough, the Bucs will take some shots.
Running will likely be like hitting a brick wall, but it’s got to be done.

This really sucks. I’m tired of seeing a conservative offense. You know that team the seattle seahawks and they’re great defense….well it’s paired up with a mean running game but a very creative offense as well. I’m sick of year after year seeing run up the middle run up the middle and pass attempt on 3rd and 9. IM SICK OF IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really hope this is not what we see today. McCown needs to throw the damn ball. Move the chains..allow the playmakers to make plays. PLEASE GOD let this offense be somewhat unpredictable.

I think with the lack of depth at receiver, they pretty much have to lean on the run. Myself and the rest of us were (rightly) concerned about G, but VJ and Brandon Meyers are the elder statesmen in what has quietly become a very unproven and inexperienced group of pass catchers. Can Mike Evans step up and make a few plays opposite VJ? What about Chris Owusu and Robert Herron? We’ve heard a lot about this Sefarian-Jenkins cat, but he is a rookie after all. Can any of the aforementioned be consistent threats down the seam/slot? I’ll be eagerly watching and awaiting the results along with the rest of you. GO BUCS!

You mean NOT call plays.
He’ll be in the press box though. If Marcus Arroyo is calling them from the box like Tedford does, then he’ll have Tedford whispering in his ear.

Yeah..I see this week being a game we can win with defense and not turning the ball over….but if we play NO without trusting our young playmakers and taking a chance to allow them to make plays, just like NO is doing with Brandin Cooks today, then we will lose. It will be one of those days when you wake up and know your team is going to lose 9 times out of ten like it has been. I’d like to see the offense take some shots and trust in they’re younger guys. No point in having them on the field if your going to avoid putting too much on them. Thats the reason they were drafted so high. I’m tired of seeing conservative. I’d like to see the Bucs join the 2014 NFL and get with it…

I’m calling it now. Mike Evans will play like a 1st round pick today. At least one catch for 40 plus yards and another for a TD. Go Bucs!
