“Jeff Tedford absent due to undisclosed health condition

APAs the Buccaneers address one of their biggest questions on offense, a major question is swirling regarding the man who runs it.

Via JoeBucsFan.com, offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford is absent from the team after undergoing an undisclosed medical procedure.

“The procedure went well,” coach Lovie Smith said. “He’s fine, alert, up. Our staff will pull up the slack and we’ll go from there.”

Tedford won’t coach in the preseason finale. For now, there’s no reason to think he won’t be available for Week One.

Whatever the condition, we extend our best wishes to Tedford as he recovers

OK…maybe it is just me…but naming your PUNTER as ST captain….bad mojo….

Have to feel happy for Josh McCown — usually when a group of people get into a room to vote on a list with his name, he ends up having to clean out his locker and call his agent for work.

    @RastaMon

Michael Koenon is a great punter and I’m sure we’ll see him more than we like and he does kickoff very well… See how many touchbacks he gets this year on kickoffs and punts inside the 10 & 20 then talk aight homes

Guess this means dashon goldson isn’t the leader they tried to say he was, he’s done after this season

  9. canadianbuc Says:

Joe you haven’t talked about the kicking situation since Barth got cut are you worried about the kid Murray confidant about him? Don’t really no anything about him and since kicking was such a disaster last year kinda worried this year. TBO haven’t even seen him kick just wondering if you have any worries or could this guy be the next tucker or blair walsh?

  10. buc4lyfe Says:

canadianbuc when you find out his background your gonna be just as worried as you were last year. He’s a jersey boy so new York Post has a story on his back ground but he’s a snippet of how that story starts

he was a longshot to have a professional football career out of New Jersey prep powerhouse Don Bosco Prep, so few Division I program came calling despite an impressive two years as the nationally ranked Ironmen’s kicker and punter.

  11. Louis Friend Says:

Speaking of Freeman – I’d say he’s officially out of football now. If you can’t even get a sniff at a training camp you’re finished. Nobody’s going to give a shot to a guy who’s been away for 2 year by the time next season rolls around.

For all his faults, Schiano did a great thing cutting ties with him.

  12. Espo Says:

They only have 2 captains on defense. I wouldn’t think it’s a knock on Goldson if he didn’t get the vote over GMC or LVD

  13. Phred Says:

How many votes did Freeman get?
