Bucs Cut 12, Will Have 10 More By Saturday

Updated: 2:29 p.m. Highlighting this latest round of slicing is one of the chosen three, Jamon Meredith, one of only three unrestricted free agents the Bucs re-signed this offseason. Another was Danny Gorrer, who was released with an injury settlement earlier this week.

Undrafted rookie Nate Askew out of Texas A&M was a tiny bit of a surprise. He’s a very athletic kid who seemed to have a shot as a sixth linebacker playing all phases of special teams. Joe would expect to see Askew on the practice squad, or somebody else’s practice squad.
Per Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, veteran DE Larry English, the former Chargers first-round pick, was cut, too. But that’s not yet official by the Bucs.

What in the world happened to Meredeth?……I mean, he wasn’t great but he had experience and was somewhat versitile…..did he just give up trying?…..just awful this year….

Weirdest thing to me, is that they cut Merideth- but not Cousins?
Jamon Merideth was much better than Cousins
Then again- so his every member of the “Sunnyville Seniors Home”, that isn’t confined to a wheel chair!!!!
I still believe Cousins should have been released after game one. And George Wartrop- our O-line coach who coached him in Cleveland- should have been fired immediately also- for recommending him.

They may switch out Incongnito for Cousins after week one. One can only hope.

Should have waived Bowers. He’s pretty much useless and English outplayed him even before Bowers bitched out again.

Good riddance to Meredith’s slow, plodding a**! Couldn’t even get out of his own way.
Let’s hope we never see Anthony Gaitor again too, so sick of him popping on and off the roster.

English is too small for a 4-3 DE and he can’t slide inside.
The only thing saving Bower’s dumba** right now is the potential he showed at the 3-tech in game one.

I thought for sure English would take Bower’s spot. I guess they see more than us, or they convinced Bowers that he should learn to tune his guitar before leaving football for music.

DE Larry English will be missed. As depth, I thought he had potential. Though, I suppose several DL guys did.
