What’s to say about this mess of a game? It might have been the worst preseason game Joe can remember.
Kudos to wide receiver/returner Solomon Patton for a nice catch and score from Mike Kafka, who Joe sure hopes never sees a real game.
A couple of picks by bottom-of-the-roster guys Nate Askew and Keith Lewis, and that’s a your highlight reel. New guard Rishaw Johnson didn’t show much at all.
Did Jeff Demps do enough to make the team? It sure didn’t sound that way listening to general manager Jason Licht during the broadcast.
Stick with Joe for plenty more out of this game and the locker room.

I like Kafka. He reminds me of what I could do, or maybe even Pablo, if we got an NFL tryout. Seriously, was he awful or what!? l

Has Danny Lansanah won the starting job from Casillas? Seems like Lansanah has stood out in every game.

Sadly, at least to me, Licht’s comments sounded like the death knell for Demps….I hate that, I had wanted Demps to really shine tonight! A couple of good attempts, but Licht’s comments didn’t sound good…..

Demps can’t catch, can’t hang on to the ball, can’t field punts or kickoffs, and can’t pick up tough yards. But he CAN run fast. Practice squad possibilities unless he is picked up by Cleveland.

I (like 90% of Tampa) didn’t really watch the game, I flipped in between it and the Rays. What was so damming that Licht said about Demps?

Can’t even try to set a 53 man roster yet. The practice squad has to be set, regular cut plus more releases and pick ups from other team cast offs.

Lovie was smart tonight! He by now knew Glennon starts with a bang and ends with a whimper, so he started him first hoping he could get his second TD of this season on his initial drive. However, our Albatross started strong but still failed to get his second TD, so Lovie pulled before he whimped out again. Kafka came out and had a long drive for a field goal and another long drive for his Second Touchdown pass. So he beat out Glennon with more TDs and more points than Glennon and never got to play behind the first string OL like Glennon got to do in two Preseason Games this year. Now let’s see if Lovie plays favorites or fairly awards the position Kafka earned and cuts worthless Glennon!

Sorry Joe, but as I’ve posted on other threads here, I totally disagree on your assessment of Rishaw Johnson. I’m not ready to name a street after him, but he blocked well in both the run and pass game and got beat on one play all night. He deserves a shot at RG in week 1, IMO.

Owly makes since sometimes, but I feel he really loves Glennon and is just trolling! Never been part of the MGM, but thinking Kafka is better then Glennon is just laughable! Remind me to never ask this guy for scouting advice! I’d rather stick my head in a dirty toilet

After one series Cannon told Smith “My feet hurt, I’m done for the night.” Coach said “You are the future, I want to see more”. Cannon headed straight to the Gatorade and took his cleats off.
