Receivers Shine; Rough Day For Mike Glennon
August 13th, 2014Kudos to Bucs backup defenders, cornerback Deveron Carr and linebacker Dane Fletcher, for picking off former starting QB Mike Glennon in practice yesterday.
Hey, interceptions happen, but these were on consecutive plays in 7-on-7 work.
That’s not a good look. Jenna Laine, of SportsTalkFlorida.com, made note of this and more in her video highlight reel of yesterday’s practice. That’s the beauty of training camp, one man’s failure usually is another man’s success. So everything sort of balances out.
Enjoy the video below. It’s got plenty of highlights.

Practice is fine, I believe players can make bigger statements in actual game conditions, which the “practice games” are supposed to present.
Basically, there are at most, five quarters of actual game action to take a look at potential starters and backups…..two quarters Saturday (at the most) then three quarters next week in the third game, the actual season “dress-rehearsal”…….
So, let’s see how everyone looks for the next five quarters:
Disclaimer: Tom Edrington is NOT a member of the Mike Glennon Mob.

I don’t think Glennon is the savior of Jeff Tedford’s offense I’m sure by now everyone here knows I think he’s just another guy but better to do it on practice than on gameday, he won’t ever be a Matt schaub type because he’s too cautious. Translation of too cautious….. Worst passing offense in the league last year.

game day is what matters. if this weekend repeats we still maybe looking at Glennon starting sooner rather than later

Man, the volume on that is horrible this time. I’ll have to wait until I get near my speakers or ear phones.
Definitely on your end. Joe’s tested from a few locations/computers. –Joe

I’m not sure how anyone can say Glennon played better than McCown against the Jags.. McCown didn’t even any time to throw and the running game wen nowhere.

I’m not sure how anyone can’t say Glennon played better than McCown in the Jags game, so I guess we cancel each other’s disbelief out

Sound is fine here.
Did anyone hear Deumig yesterday regarding Freeman then Glennon? I hadn’t listened to him in a few months. After yesterday, I think I’ll stay away. It’s so obvious how biased he is toward Freeman and anything anti-Glennon. He should be embarrassed.

If Mike Glennon had played behind our Starting O-line, his immoble butt would be on I.R.

Wow that last little clip ASJ is Huge!!!!

And….if palm trees and saltwater were wings and beer, we’d all be happy!

i dunno about that. he looked more in command presnap than mckown and may have called audibles better. he did when he was in the game, and our #2’s have to be REALLY bad to be backing uup the 1’s
August 13th, 2014 at 11:03 am
And the newly positioned O line players were doing what? Hahahaha, its all good man. Im expecting everything bad about MG8 to have a spotlight shined on him here…. but barely anything bad on McCown…is what it is…..MGh8ters will h8!

@49.75 into that video, that was not an interception….come on, REALLY?!? Was that one of the plays pointed out Joe? If so, good grief. I didnt even need the replay.
Incomplete and ball touches ground but they want to go against MG8 and call that an interception? Digging deep for stuff there fellas!
August 13th, 2014 at 11:27 am
MadMax, no one is “digging deep” or talking about fake INTs. The videos in the clip do not necessarily correlate to the story. For example, notice how when she says ASJ lays out for or dives for a catch, the video doesn’t correlate, in the video he catches, stops, gives a juke, runs…
This is not ESPN on gameday, fellas. It’s preseason training camp where the local cameras do the best they can from the locations they’re allowed to film from and local reporters give a story of what happened that they use video feed that looks best to fill in behind. If anyone is digging deep, it’s the people not at practice that are questioning what the people that were at the practice saw. It was reported several different places that MG8 had the back to back INTs, none of those reporters are out there to “make stuff up”.

It’s pretty clear that McCown will be just like Freeman and enjoy the luxury of all the excuses while Glennon will be bashed and blamed for everything. Glennon will still conquer the starting job very soon. Glennon The Conqueror!
LONG LIVE THE MGM!!!

Fellas calm down Glennon will be our qb before long. No way the online fixes itself before MCown goes down. Just saying..
August 13th, 2014 at 1:17 pm
Hopefully people will remember this offseason and training camp. Because when Glennon does take the reins, that Lovie and tedford gave glennon no snaps with the number 1s. This will be a huge mistake on their part.

QB rating after preseason week 1:
Glennon = 98.6
McCown = 25
I think it’s safe to say Glennon looked better. He didn’t turn the ball over when facing intense pressure.
I’ll be keeping score each week.

@ Joe. I’ve no sound from that video. I had to turn on the closed captions and laugh “One But Place”.
August 13th, 2014 at 9:33 pm
I think Glennon will be our QB someday.
But we better have a great O-line, cause scrambling is not is forte
