NFL Draft Day 2, Live Blog
May 9th, 2014
Here we go folks. The 2014 NFL draft resumes shortly. What will the Bucs do? Will they add another receiver (smart) or decide to take care of the offensive line, which is begging for bodies at guard, or, dare Joe say, Bucs offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford reunites with his long-time friend Derek Carr?
The possibilities continue and Joe is still excited to see what transpires this evening. Whoever the Bucs pick, the team will look different in four or so hours than it does as Joe types this piece.

Stay at offense. Still need a quick slot receiver and especially a couple of guards. Would not mind seeing them draft a corner either. If it’s a QB I’d only take Carr, Garoppollo, or Murray.

Draft Su’a-Filo! If they are at all serious about the offense they will fix the line, it all revolves around it. A great line can even make giraffes look good.

Raiders were rumored to like Carr yesterday. Their the reason I would trade up. I suppose there are 2 other QBs that could be developed with Glennon, but I REALLY, REALLY like Carr.

Would love to see Tedford with Evans/Marqise Lee. I don’t think we got the stones to do it starting with WR/WR but man that would be a hell of a wr corps with Lee in the slot. I think we draft 3 OL late rnd 5-7 and hope to hit on one or two. Take best available in round 3 and I’d be excited about the offense for the first time ever as a 20+ year season ticket holder.

Okay…I’ve taken a few minutes to calm down a little.
I’m now telling myself that they are trying to go BPA at all positions of need in each round.
I can’t fault them for that…if that’s what they were doing. If this TE is anything like Graham, it’s another good pick.
I still say they need a quarterback though.

Stocker, bu bye! Carrying 4 TE and maybe Maneri sticks as a T /TE swing for short yardage. This offense is quickly becoming quite formidable – 3 deep at RB, 3 deep at TE, twin towers on the outside and Demps/Murphy that are 4.3 range slot guys – a couple o line here or in post draft FA…..nice moves all around

How is this a good pick when there is a sorry azz offensive line not opening any holes for the running game? Doug Martin is supposed to be a 3-down back. This says a lot about what they think of him.

Lovie is out of his MIND. No wonder he got kicked out of Chicago for offense.. TE was not a need, RB is no where NEAR a need. Im trying to find a logically reason why they would go RB when they have NO GUARDS TO BLOCK FOR HIM and I just can’t. I wanna say “L&L know what they are doing” but they are making it hard to trust them.

one of the worst drafts I’ve seen the Bucs do… awful.
Drafted a #2 WR with the 7th pick of the draft
Drafted a tight end, a position they didn’t need to shore up (they now have 7 on the roster)
Drafted a running back, the one position on offense that didn’t need fixing
But still don’t have a quarterback or an offensive line.
Also, there’s no reason they couldn’t have traded the 7th to Cleveland if they had been on the ball. They blew that opportunity big time. (For all his faults, I guarantee the Dominator would have made that happen.)
Yikes. I give them a D for dreadful.

I thought RB wasn’t much of a need. Very confused with that pick. I guess L&L don’t think that much of Martin or James. I don’t know much about Sims so I can’t judge him as a player but RB in the 3rd. …really?

Demps is total toast.
I think this is the Bucs speed in space guy. 6′ 4.48 speed. Very good hands.
It would not surprise me if he is converted to WR or used for kick returns.
