So it is finally here. The first round of the NFL draft. The painful, painful, painful wait has finally reached an end.
The wait was so long, Joe was actually more looking forward more to the return of “24” than the draft. Joe was mocked out.
So bang away here for your thoughts at the first round transpires. Who will be the first pick of the Lovie Smith era? Where will they go, quarterback, wide receiver, offensive lineman, defensive lineman?

Please Lovie don’t consult Tedford on who he thinks is a franchise QB in this draft. I don’t want another Kyle Boller, Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, and I definitely don’t want another Dilfer on this team. All of these greats we’re coached by Tedford in college.

Way off topic for the post but since the picture is of a cheerleader it reminded me that I checked this year’s crop of cheerleaders on the Bucs app and they are a busted looking group. I’m usually pretty forgiving when a woman is willing to prance around in scant clothing but it looks like they got a bunch of plant city’s finest in there this year

1987: Joe is fine with Greg Robinson, Jake Matthews or Taylor Lewan. Matthews is as safe a pick as you can get. Lewan handled Clowney in Outback Bowl (“The Hit” was tight end missing his block on Clowney).

Before free agency I was begging for them to fix the o-line in this draft. Then Williams was let go. Now WR becomes an emergency situation. Gaurds can be had later in the draft. So too can WR but I think Watkins and Evans are elite compared to the others.
So I want Evans@7, but think they will trade down.

@Gt40 – because this has been Mancrush Central since the season ended. Joe would not quit with the Johnny articles and yes while we do have the freedom not to read them it is still annoying because Joe has amassed a mob of followers following him for his excellent coverage on the Bucs. Yet this offseason us Bucs fans came to a Bucs site seeing article after article of a college QB who wasn’t likely to land here and didn’t.
On top of that Joe had reference after reference of said QB on non-Johnny articles. He also said the ridiculous thing about people not liking him only for his ability to “pull” chicks in college and being jealous. He also strongly disliked the fact that Shaun King and other of his usual sources did not like Johnny (he didn’t introduce King as one of three Buc QB’s to lead them to the NFC Championship like he always does and questioned his sanity).
All in seriousness though, Joe, we love your site and appreciate all the time and work you put in to deliver us terrific Bucs coverage. I’m sure you were trolling us a little with the JF stuff and joking around about his doubters but it got to be too much for some of us.

The Bucs are not coming up to get Manziel. The cost to get back into the 1st round will be a future 1st round pick and likely more. Not happening. Manziel could fall to 39 and the Bucs might take him, but they aren’t sacrificng assets to get a guy they could have had for free.

Bonzai…and to tell you the truth. I’m not all that impressed with Wilson. Like I told a few on here. He’s a great game manager. Hawaiian Buc thinks I’m crazy for it, but whatever. Casserly said the same thing earlier today. The Hawks don’t ask Wilson to do too much, they run the hell out of the ball and play great defense. He said Wilson probably throws the ball 20 times a game and let’s everything ride on the D. I call that a great game manager.

6 players(5 technically since I said someone will trade back into the 1st for TB) I missed on the 1st round of players I chose from not too shabby I would say… I got 6 players to the correct teams(7 if you want to count Watkins since the Bills traded into the 4th spot) and just missed on the player but the position right some more teams..
