Top Guards

Yes, Joe has beaten his readers’ collective heads into the wall discussing how the Bucs’ now thin offensive line is in desperate need of a guard (at least).

One could make an argument that offensive line is a greater need than wide receiver. That’s how bad it appears on paper.

In this Football Gameplan video, Emery Hunt, czar of the playbook, discusses a few guards you may want to tuck away in your memory as the draft unfolds this weekend.

Lots and lots of options, wouldn’t mind seeing us stock up in later rounds on a couple of these guards. Save the 1st/2nd round picks for the more “flashy” picks. A tackle in the 1st round wouldn’t be so bad but I feel like this shows guards can be had much later and with a pretty high ceiling compared to other positions at their draft slot.

Not very deep this year at guard. That means we may have to reach for one in the 2nd… ugh

I find this comical, of all the Manziel stories posted Joe thinks that readers heads have been beaten into the wall discussing the offensive line. The Manziel stories don’t even bother me but, going out on a limb here, they are beating many other heads in. Many feel like the talk of the offensive line is a breath of fresh air lol.

Let’s just go ahead and pick a “fat boy”……that can’t run…..safe bet unless we can get….

I laughed at that too. I considered it intentional.

At over 6’3″ and nearly 340lbs, Jackson is a mountain of a man. I’ll bet Doug Martin would dig running behind this human road grader! Could probably get him early in round 3!

Sure, wait until later rounds after knowing how many later round picks either bust or become just journeyman players for one contract year. Zack Martin would be at least a two contract year stalwart at guard. Before bringing up QBs pass over the barf bag.

  8. Pierce Says:

Hey maybe they can get a guard who matches up well against Sproles in one-on-ones.

Glennon is going to be a boss.
