Bad News On Revis Trade

March 11th, 2014

RevisMcCoyProBowl

NFL employee/NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport is being fed a steady diet of information about a potential Darrelle Revis trade, and he’s delivering troubling but expected news to Bucs fans tonight.

About 8 p.m., Rapoport Twittered word that a Revis-to-Browns deal is on life support.

@RapSheet: A trade for Darrelle Revis by the #Bucs is now considered unlikely. He won’t cut his pay to join the #Browns. Others willing to wait.

This is no surprise, as Joe wrote earlier. Why would Revis adjust terms of his Bucs contract, which brings him little to no guaranteed cash? If Revis is cut (Joe’s still shaking his head at that madness), then he would have suitors that would offer him at least $30 million guaranteed for three years. Plus, why would he want to go to Cleveland if he didn’t have to?

There’s still time for the Bucs to come to their senses and keep Revis. He’s not replaceable, and it’s worth seeing just how much he can thrive in Lovie Smith’s defense. Heck, Lovie himself was excited by having Revis as a core player just a few short weeks ago.

Cutting Revis would go down as possibly the dumbest decision in team history.

  2. pablo Says:

Revis will be on the team because his jersey is for sale in the bucs shop. .

  3. Arealbucsfan Says:

If we do we gotta get Verner

  4. @caEric Says:

Right behind letting Doug Williams go to Washington…..

  5. zam Says:

Come on… it will let us get 8 third-string tight ends! we’ve got 1 of 8, now collect the whole set, one a week like the Civil War Chess Set

  6. Buc1987 Says:

Revis is all but gone. Get over it. Next!

  7. Robbie_G Says:

Revis being Revis. He would not work with the Bucs on a better deal, and will not work on another deal so they can trade him. So Revis will walk and go somewhere for LESS ANYWAY. So Revis gets his way, and his cash, and the Bucs loose a 1st and 4th. And you wonder why the Rockstar is GONE!

  8. shadowwolfe Says:

Considering that the colts just gave vontae davis $39 million over 4 years (10 mil/year), For a corner that is not in Revis’s league, it would be a very stupid move to get rid of him, when they have options to clear up some cap space. First its the ugly uniform and now this, what a way to win over fans….

  9. Sunny Says:

Will truly be a sad day if revis is cut not only did we give up drafts pick we would cut the best corner for what Tillman who can pay 2-3 more years and get nothing is return . . . Bad way to start lovie

  10. DSZ Says:

Jags got one (potentially two) picks for Gabbert. Bucs get nothing for Revis….seems about right.

  11. Sunny Says:

Teams know we r under the gun thus will not step up, let’s say we keep past the deadline and after of around the draft he market will come back ideal

  12. Jeremy Says:

Did we seriously fire two idiots for two new idiots… THIS IS FREAKING REVIS AND HE’S ON OUR TEAM!!!! Why would we cut him?

  13. Buc1987 Says:

DSZ…what does Gabbert’s contract look like?

  14. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It no longer matters what we paid for him (1st Rounder/3rd-4th) If we cut him, it only matters what we do with the 16 mil & the 3rd rd. pick….I like Revis and hope he stays…but the 16 mil and a 3rd instead of 4th is a good substitute.

  15. buchead407 Says:

Agreed…lovie your not starting off on the right foot..Regis is is arguably the best buc talent wise ever and he is here for one 4-12 year

  16. Spirit of '76 Says:

And that is the last big splash of free agency for 2013. To the most selfish player in the league. We sure did well with that acquisition, didn’t we. Renting a CB while helping him to rehab and losing more games than the year before. All while paying him $1 million dollars per game. Good riddance, I say. Thank God for some new sanity in Tampa.

  17. BIG SIR Says:

    BREAKING:

Due to a lack of trade partners, Lovie and Licht have already decided to cut Michael Johnson.

  18. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

    Rob

Dumbest decision in team history? You are talking about our beloved Bucs. I wouldn’t consider this the dumbest.

  19. nate_tweetz Says:

Robbie_G is right… This is typical Revis and is part of what alot of us feared with us signing him in the first place. The guy holds out every other year and refuses to work a different deal with a new Bucs staff. No surprise at all. He is going to earn less regardless if he is traded or cut. His $16 mill a year was so ridiculous in the first place… no one… not even the dumbass Browns would do that contract. See ya Revis… Good luck trying to get that money… One of the best CB’s in the NFL is just gonna be known as a greedy journeyman that can never live up to his own “lofty” value.

  20. shadowwolfe Says:

I guess the glazers forgot how many Revis jerseys were sold last year and who have they signed that bring out the fan’s enthusiasm? Not a happy season ticket holder right now.

  21. Eric Says:

I’ve had enough of the guy. Never should have done that God awful trade.

Its unpopular, but its the right move. The myth of Revis is no longer the reality of Revis. And we see how much of a team guy he is with his refusal to budge. If he wanted to be part of the team here in Tampa he would.

Lovie is starting in the trenches, where he needs to.

Peanut may have some more pick 6’s in him.

  22. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Blame Dominick, not the new regime. They needed to overturn half the team and needed cap room to do it. Revis is a total luxery. We can get Tillman for 2years and use the 3rd to draft another CB to develop in order to replace him..

Persoanlly I think they should try dealing Penn and Zuttah. We now will have replacements for both and we could get some picks.

  23. Fritz50 Says:

” To the most selfish player in the league”

Why, cause he refuses to make it easy for the Bucs to get rid of him ? Why in God’s name should he? Just when, exactly, did this , or any other team make it easier for him to screw them ? Why do you expect him to help them do it?

  24. Bucfan282938 Says:

I’m just going to buy lots of whiskey and drink it every Sunday while watching this shitty secondary get destroyed without Revis. Tillman will be done in 2 years and unless we have another top tier corner, why get rid of the best in the league?

  25. N.C. FlorIdiot Says:

Man, I say the Bucs should fold this hand… Do not cut him… Keep him and sign Tillman at a reasonable price. That would give us Revis, Tillman, and Banks… Liking that idea… We can make cap space somewhere else if it’s needed…

That’s what I’d do if I were GM (which I and everybody else should be glad is not the case)!! lol

Does anyone have any idea what our cap space is at with all of the signings today AND if we kept Revis?

  26. Orca Says:

He absolutely IS replaceable in the type of defense they want to play. You don’t need to be the best man cover corner to excel in this defense. Ronde Barber proved for years that you don’t have to be a man-shutdown corner to succeed in this style of defense. The pass rush has to go and the secondary needs to be disciplined in its coverages.

The Joes are just starf*ckers, that’s all. It’s all about best this or best that. How about best team? Let’s try that. Dominik’s problem was that he sucked at identifying talent unless it was a superstar name that any idiot could identify as being good. Stocking up the bulk of the roster with capable to above average starters and supplementing with top free agents is how you do it. Instead, he just tried to buy starpower and forgot the rest of the roster. The Joes seem to think that was a good idea.

I thought the Revis trade was idiotic last year when they did it, and now the experts appear to agree with me. If Revis were paid in line with the other top corners in the game (say 10-11 million), then keep him. But 16 million is stupid money for any position outside of QB. 12% of the salary cap this year. Ridiculous.

  27. scott Says:

If we can’t get real value for Revis in the draft. Keep him!

Partly because we can, due to decent cap shape.

And partly that if we’re not rebuilding as Lovie has stated…Revis is gonna help out that front four in spades.

  28. Rob Says:

“Revis being Revis. He would not work with the Bucs on a better deal, and will not work on another deal so they can trade him. So Revis will walk and go somewhere for LESS ANYWAY. So Revis gets his way, and his cash, and the Bucs loose a 1st and 4th. And you wonder why the Rockstar is GONE!”

Nor SHOULD Revis give up money to get sent to a crap-hole when he can give up money to go to the team of his choosing. The team made a deal with him one measly year ago, don’t get mad at Revis if now they don’t want anything to do with it. Assuming all this reporting is true.

  29. NewBucs Says:

rob is right hands down the dumbest decision in team history right next to the mike Bennett epic mistake

  30. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“Revis is all but gone. Get over it. Next!”

    ———

Says the guy still crying about Schiano being gone. SMH

  31. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

I was against bringing in Revis in the first place. Among others. People calling Lovie and the gm idiots are fair weather fans. If you cry for change, you get it, like it or not.

  32. Mumbles Says:

Everybody knows we got that dreaded “never gonna win” cancer. Now everybody’s complaining about the chemo. Never gonna win until we get well. Go ahead Lovie, shove it down our throats!

  33. Arnold Says:

Cutting Revis would be a huge mistake. At this point, even if we got Tillman (old & coming off injury), there would be a glaring lack of quality depth at CB. People saying that they would rather pay 2-3 quality players than the 16M cap hit…what two players would you pay? It’s a weak FA class. We’re not hurting for cap space even after signing Michael Johnson and if we were we could knock down Revis number by converting a large portion of the 16M to a bonus. Losing the 1st pick + the 4th rounder by cutting him makes no sense. If they really wanted to dump him wait til the trade deadline…play him and let him show what he can do at 100% to drive up his value. Sure we’d lose the 16M this year but at least teams would be more willing to part with higher draft picks to get him. I’m honestly holding out hope that something gets worked out though be it him staying or leaving through trade. I just cannot wrap my head around simply releasing one of the best players in the league for nothing plus the lost picks.

  34. bucrightoff Says:

No this is a pretty damning indicted on Lovie and Licht. If they want Verner or anyone close to his level, its going to be $11-13 million a season based off what Davis and Shields, not as good CBs, got paid. So all of a sudden Revis at $16 million, especially to a team with no cap issues in any way, isn’t as insanely bad as people think. In fact its basically market value. The Bucs are not getting a better player, no shot.

So this says Lovie can’t adapt to the players, they have to adapt to him. He can’t make Revis work? Like really? An elite, top 3 corner? Money is not an issue, not even close. The Bucs are far under the cap even with all their signings today. The only explaination is Lovie needs his zone corners, which really sucks. The Seahawks just won with man to man dominance. NFL offenses have figured out zone and Cover-2. Lovie can’t adapt it seems.

  35. Bucamania Says:

Revis will take a pay cut and sign with the Broncos or Patriots. Maybe even go back o the Jets!! And the Bucs pick turned to be the DROY. You can make this stuff up any better!

  36. Rob Says:

“Dumbest decision in team history? You are talking about our beloved Bucs. I wouldn’t consider this the dumbest.”

Good call, I almost forgot what team we all follow…

“rob is right hands down the dumbest decision in team history right next to the mike Bennett epic mistake”

Letting Bennett go was dumb, but it’s not even close to giving up two draft picks for a guy and then cutting him a year later – in his prime, after he showed that his knee is healthy. Especially after listening to Lovie Smith go out of his way for a month to talk about how we’re going to live and die as a defense based on how well we play man-defense, and about how there’s always room for great players like Revis.

  37. mark2001 Says:

The Dom immolated the Bucs by the end of his tenure. I’d imagine that Rah saw this coming and now sees the circle as complete. Now he has been labeled with one of the worst deals in the history of the Bucs? I wonder what the age over/under on his next GM gig….65?

  38. Buc1987 Says:

    Hawaiian Buc…nobodies crying over Schiano.

  39. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Obviously it’s not going to happen and Revis is gone, but there is no convincing me that something couldn’t be done to make both sides happy and keep him in Tampa, at least for one more year. For those thinking Revis is selfish for not taking less, keep in mind a few things. First of all, he signed for no guaranteed money coming off a major injury. Absolutely none. And the reason he always refuses to take less money is because of this exact situation. He signed a contract for 6 years, yet the team is the one not wanting to honor it. Of course they are within their right, but how exactly is it fair that a player and team can come to an agreement on a contract, yet the team doesn’t actually have to honor it -while the player does??? I wouldn’t take a penny less either. But there is no doubt they could restructure and give him the same amount of money but count less against the cap. Problem is, they’ve already made up their minds.

  40. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @1987,

Uh, yeah you have been buddy. Don’t even try denying that.

  41. Patrick Says:

This is the same franchise who got rid of Warren Sapp and John Lynch. Is this really surprising to anyone?

  42. deminion Says:

Shuda wuda cuda is still undrafted good riddance sick to do it but it’s logical in the long run IMO

  43. Buc1987 Says:

Hawaiian Buc…you got me. I’m still in terrible shock. I wish it never happened. Sometimes it’s hard to sleep at night over it. I miss Greg Schiano.

  44. BirdDoggers Says:

If the current regime lets Revis go for nothing, I will completely lose all confidence in their abilty to field and coach a successful team, until they prove to me otherwise.

Was it a bad trade or a bad move to let him go? I would think a 1st and 3rd round pick is a good deal for one of the best defenders in the league. I say it’s not a bad deal at all, even considering his contract. Letting him go for nothing is completely rediculous and will go down as one of the worst decisions in franchise history. Even Dominik could pull off a trade to get rid of him if he wanted to and I was lukewarm on him as a GM.

  45. bucrightoff Says:

Hawaiian Buc is 100% correct. Revis is just doing what he should, its a business as we know and it goes both ways. Its not particularly admirable but neither is cutting Davin who gave us everything he had. But it’s still a business and he had to go.

  46. Spirit of '76 Says:

@bucsrightoff – we are not one or two players away from the playoffs. We are hell and back from getting there, even in our own division. Revis is a luxury we certainly can not afford. We are not the Raiders or Browns with $40+millions in cap room. But with the monies saved in the Revis debacle, we can get better in many areas. And we need help in many areas.

  47. Buc1987 Says:

The NFL is a business. Many fans forget that from time to time.

  48. BFFL Says:

The Bucs could potentially obtain 4 solid starters if they cut Revis. I’d rather have more starters.

  49. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“I was against bringing in Revis in the first place. Among others. People calling Lovie and the gm idiots are fair weather fans. If you cry for change, you get it, like it or not.”

    ——-

So let me get this straight: I am a fair weather fan because I disagree with getting rid of one of our 3 best players, and the best corner in the league??? And oh yeah, we gave up a first and a 4th for him just last year! I think you should check the definition of fair weather fan. I have cheered for this team through Perkins, Morris, Schiano, and a bunch of other guys I have chosen to mentally block out. I travel to Tampa twice a year every single year to watch a team that wins 3 or 4 games half the time. I have about 25 jerseys and a ridiculous amounts of useless crap that I have absolutely no need for (I have a damn Buc salt and pepper shaker for crying out loud!). So no, I’m not a fair weather fan, but I don’t agree with this at all. Yeah it’s going to happen and there’s nothing I can do about it, but I have the right to complain. It’s not like this team is a perennial playoff team to shut me up. I’ll get over it eventually (I think), but for now I’m pissed off.

    That would be “nobody’s”

And don’t speak for me. I wanted to keep him, so that makes you wrong.

  51. Buc1987 Says:

Will the Bucs make it to the playoffs in the next 1-2 years with Revis?

If it does not appear so, than wth are they keeping for?

Kind of like an idiot that lives in a shack of a house and buys a Ferrari to go with it. BTW the Bucs are the sack.

  52. Patrick in VA Says:

Would love to see what Revis can do but I believe Booger McFarland put it well this afternoon when he said that Revis is a luxury and we’re not in a place where we can afford luxurious things. He likened it to getting a Bugatti and driving it up to your apartment. The Bucs are an apartment right now and we need to spend that money getting ourselves into a respectable house before we can justify having flashy cars. If we have a great player that we came about honestly like McCoy or David then that’s fine but breaking the bank for a player that doesn’t really even fit our system didn’t make sense

  53. Rob Says:

“Robbie_G is right… This is typical Revis and is part of what alot of us feared with us signing him in the first place. The guy holds out every other year and refuses to work a different deal with a new Bucs staff.”

You guys are out of your minds. Revis hasn’t done ANYTHING since becoming a Buc other than be a team player. He’s under contract and ready to go, he’s not holding out, he’s not asking for a trade. Why on earth should he make himself easier to trade if he’s facing a trade to a terrible team in a city that he doesn’t want to live in?!

  54. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

It was pointed out to me that perhaps we were just testing the trade possibilities for Revis, and if we did not get a big enough offer, we would just keep him.
We will all know the answer to this shortly.
IMHO, w/o a big trade offer for Revis, we should just keep him.
We gave up an awful lot for him, and if we just cut him, we have nothing to show for the loss of all those draft picks.

  55. Hawaiian Buc Says:

“he NFL is a business. Many fans forget that from time to time.”

    ——-

Yes the NFL is a business. I for one certainly have never forgot that. However, that doesn’t mean that every business move is a good business move. I struggle to see how this makes us better. The argument is that we can go out and get more free agents with the money we free up from Revis. Ok, but who was the last team that was successful building through free agency? I also don’t think the majority of fans can be sold that losing Revis and bringing in Peanut was a good business decision.

  56. Buc1987 Says:

    shack*

damn my wireless keyboard is slowly going out on me

  57. The_Buc_Realist Says:

No one is crying that Schiano left. But some don’t lay full blame on him because the roster was so bad. And it seems that the new regime agrees

  58. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Hawaiian Buc, I was not referring to you. I meant the idiots who constantly clamor for change…whom I like to calll “Chaos Fans”. The people who insist on replacing everyone and then whine when it turns out to be more than they expected.

They are the same fans who whined the team was too old, and then complained when the older guys were let go.

  59. Buc1987 Says:

If Lovie thinks the Bucs are 2-3 years away. There is no reason for them to pay Revis that kind of money. This is all Dom’s fault. Now someone is trying to fix it.

  60. Barry Says:

Can’t the Bucs pay a portion of his 16m as a signing bonus and pro rate it and only have 6 mil or show go against the cap this year and keep him? Not sure how it would work but thought I heard something about that. If so i’d keep him for at least this year.

  61. bucrightoff Says:

If we’re not close to the playoffs (and we aren’t really), we shouldn’t just field the worst team we can. And cutting Revis for nothing achieves the same…nothing. We just get worse. Again, money means nothing here. The one thing Dominik actually did well was structure the cap. With contracts coming off the books (Jackson, Nicks, Williams getting cut inevitably) as we need to sign others (Lavonte and GMC first and foremost). So we don’t have issues. Paying a 1st and 4th for the rehab year of a guy who will be better in the future is moronic.

Joe has mentioned it, I have and several others have, but the Bucs went from almost worst ever pass defense to middle of the pack just by adding Revis. Whatever we pay for a replacement as a FA will, value wise, not be appreciably better. So why do this? Just makes no sense.

  62. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Remind me again, how far over the cap are we again with Revis? So he IS actually a luxury we can afford. As for the theory that we aren’t making the playoffs with or without him, that’s a loser attitude. If that’s the attitude of the GM, then we won’t win squat. I actually don’t believe that to be the case, at least I’m trying to make myself not believe that. Then again, I didn’t think we would get rid of Revis, so who knows.

  63. jobu Says:

cutting him can’t be the dumbest, cause signing a $16mil a year corner coming off an injuy in the first place was dumber

  64. Eric Says:

Lots of guys restructure contracts, to play on a winning team.

Remember what Dungy said when he took over here, he wished he could get rid of a lot of guys but couldn’t.

Lovie can, and maybe when he looked into it he saw a guy who was just here for the paycheck. I remember well the “island” jogging while a saints player raced into the end zone.

How come the rest of the defense didn’t rally around Revis? What game changing plays did the guy make.

I trust Lovie on this. He thoroughly looked at the guy, concluded he wasn’t worth the $.

  65. Spirit of '76 Says:

The Bucs are the The Bucs and have made so many stupid decision. it’s beyond comprehension.
    * Alvin Harper
    * Bo Jackson draft
    * attempting to sign Albert Hayensworth
    * Gains Adams (RIP)
    * Dexter Jackson (the bad one)
    * Sabby Psicatelli

And the acquisition of Darrel Revis will rate up with all of these. This is what get GM’s fired. Now Lovie and Light have to eat crow and clean up the mess. It stinks, but it must be done. Ask the Raiders how they like cleaning up the mess they were handed a couple of years ago.

  66. bucrightoff Says:

PFT Report: Revis would love to return to Jets. LOL Please let it happen.

  67. Mr. Patrick Says:

So, if released, Bucs gave up 16 Million bucks, a 1st and 4th rounder to rent Revis for 1 year at about 80% on a team that went 4-12 that he made no difference on. Thanks Dom

  68. kh Says:

I fully believe the media is being played like fiddles by “sources” outside of One Buc – the notion that the Bucs MUST cut Revis is completely illogical. By 5pm tomorrow Revis will get his roster bonus and still be a Buc.

  69. Daffy Buc Says:

Mevis made 16 m last year and will not take a pay cut. Probably was offered 12 m and only made 5 m two years ago. What a greedy Mevis. I saw him getting torched all year long. Couldn’t cover like before. Not even a top ten corner. Cut him early and sign a better corner.

  70. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Chris, I was actually thinking about that. The Bucs coould sign Tillman and restructure Revis. They would lose this years 3rd and create $1.8 million per year of dead salary…but that actually isn’t so bad.

And if teams see we intend to keep him, offers will start coming in again.

The thought of Tillman, Revis and Banks sounds good.

SteveD said today that he spoke with someone inside the Bucs and they fully intend to release him, so who knows.

  71. Spirit of '76 Says:

Revis will not restructure. You pay him or lose him. Goodbye.

  72. Michael Duggan Says:

Seriously Joe, what would you expect a new Coach to say? That he can’t wait to dump his cap hit? I would have said the same thing as would you!

  73. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Buc1987,

Ok, so we are say 3 years away, right? Tillman is over 4 years older than Revis! Also keep in mind that the cap is about to jump in a couple years, so $16M won’t be as astronomical as what it seems to be now. You also discount how much Revis can help groom the younger guys. You know, like the guy we just drafted with our first pick last year!

If we are 3 years away, it won’t be because of the defense. No way. It’s going to be because of the offense. If we find a QB (or already have one and just don’t know it), then we will win games, even as presently constructed. We were a middle of the pack defense last year with that lunatic mid major college coach blitzing and stunting the hell out of the game. I’m pretty sure Lovie Smith is a better coach than Bill Sheridan and Greg Schitler.

  74. Fan Since '76 Says:

This is not on Revis. And everything being reported is rumor and BS. There is no good football reason to cut Revis. There is no financial reason to cut him now either EXCEPT to save money for ownership. This organization dumped salaries a year or two after the SB victory with the promise they’d use the cap space to pay their young stars. Of course, they never developed any stars, stayed way under the cap for years, and sucked. If they dump Revis, they will sign FA’s but none of Revis’ quality. They will not go near the cap, claiming they need the $ to sign draft picks and future FA’s. Same broken record. If they cut Revis now…

    AHAHAHAHA

    HELL YES!!!!!!!!

    WOOOT WOOOOOT!!!!!

  89. Bucfan282938 Says:

You guys Revis healthy gets rid of the need for a strong safety right? (Meaning out one in the box to stop the run). If corners who aren’t at his level get $10mil he definitely deserves 16. If Lovie can’t find a way to use this guy, he’s as bad as schiano is in terms of stubbornness. It might be an ok business decision (if they trade him, a cut is stupid) but winning championships isn’t about business decisions necessarily, it’s about smart FOOTBALL decisions and getting rid of the best cover corner in the league is not a smart football decision. It’s okay though, our culture in Tampa is based off sucking royally and never putting up a fight, might as well continue the tradition with a new coach and GM

  90. shadowwolfe Says:

Really, like what would anyones reaction would be if your boss came up to you and said ” I would like you take a 40 percent paycut so I can ship your happy behind to either cleveland or Oakland (which incidently, both have state income tax so it would be more of a paycut). I think we all would be called selfish for not agreeing to those terms.

  91. bucrightoff Says:

Haha F Revis for Verner? Verner is good but he’s not Revis. And it still cost us a 1st and a 4th. Its still a disaster, just not as big of one.

  92. Bucs55 Says:

Verner 4 yrs 28 mil wow that’s great money

  93. Alexstotle Says:

Best move in a While with VERNER!!!! GREAT DEAL TOO

  94. Buc1987 Says:

    Verner…wow!

  95. Cmurda Says:

Verner is underrated. That was a great job by the Bucs. MJ, Verner and now we put the full court press, Revis restructures. Life is good. I can dream. Yes, 87 I know Revis is gone. I just refuse to accept it until its official.

  96. bucrightoff Says:

I’d also imagine considering all these moves they are gonna make a strong play for McCown.

  97. Buc1987 Says:

    t’s not F Revis…it’s F 16 million dollars.

  98. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan
    @Buc1987
    @Couch Fan

Me & the wife pulling a bottle off the shelf, after hearing that one…Yeahhhhhh Budddy!

Alterraun Verner to the BUCS BABY!!

  99. Bucs55 Says:

Half of what Revis is getting they got 2 starters in Verner and Johnson for Revis contract

  100. Kevin Says:

Everyone saying Revis is holding out are F#@cking idots. He’s not holding out….he’s ready to play. Just because he will not take a pay cut on a contract that MD was willing to give him is no reason to bash him. He needs to stay and so be it at the 16mil. What do you think Sherman will require when his contract is up in Seattle???? Holy hell just when you think life is starting to get better as a bucs fan they just shit all over us. WTF keep the guy you have the money. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO let’s bring in injury prone Tillman on over to ride the bench. Maybe if him AND Vick come they can be bench buddies, keep the waters filled. FREIKIN TARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  101. meh Says:

Revis is better. We still just got worse.

  102. PRBucFan Says:

    *Cheers

Not to mention we will still probably land

    Tillman
    McCown
    Collins

    And who knows who else

  103. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Just think-I wanted the BUCS to draft him a couple years back-Because he was under the tutelage of one of the best All World Defensive Backs Ever Mr. Carnell Lake-when he was with the Bruins

  104. Macabee Says:

I like Revis, he is the best, but after the day the Bucs have had and looks to continue, I’m am ready to move on! Good luck Revis in whatever your next role in life is!

  105. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    Cheers brothas!!

  106. Buc1987 Says:

Yeah LUV…I’m a little happier now. Wow talk about a re-vamp. Who’s next McCown?

My wife(big Bucs fan) does not like any of this at all. She said she does not like to have to learn all these new names. I told her to get studying, because it might be quite a lot of new names.

  107. Buc1987 Says:

Has Dom ever made this many moves? I think we might have a new rock star in town if all this pans out.

  108. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    – Verner has signed a four-year, $26.25 million deal with the Bucs that includes $14 million guaranteed.

    GREAT VALUE PICK!!!!

  109. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Yeah 87′ we gonna doing it big w/these Kats in office..

    Make Us Proud-Lovie & Licht!!!!

  110. That Guy Says:

Reading through this ish is hilarious. Clutch your pearls, everyone!

  111. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Yeah 87′ we gonna be doing it big w/these Kats in office..

  112. Buc1987 Says:

    lol@That Guy

  113. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @That Guy

    Leave ’em Lone-hahaha

  114. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Yeah, My son-in-law-Huge Eagles -He pissed right now. Because my daughter rubbing it in..lol

  115. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    *Eagles

  116. PRBucFan Says:

Here’s the deal guys, yes it sucks but what are we gonna do

We can either moan and groan or be happy and believe that with these guys we are bringing in and it being a system where it takes a unit to succeed not just an individual superstar we will fine.

  117. Buc1987 Says:

PRB…well maybe if they gave the fans a little warning when they signed on. That some cuts would be shocking or we should brace ourselves for craziness. It might soften the blow.

It might not have done any good anyways judging most of the Bucs fan base, but ya never know.

    Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaampa!

  118. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!

  119. bucrightoff Says:

Look Verner is a very nice consolation prize for giving Revis away…but we still gave away Sheldon Richardson and ??? so its never not gonna hurt a lot. And if Revis returns to form especially.

  120. lurker Says:

who said we had Richardson? we woulda got a cb in rnd 1 just as easily.

  121. PRBucFan Says:

Exactly lol we weren’t going to go for a DT in round one..

    ahahaha

  122. Revis island 2014 Says:

I love it when people are saying we are renting revis for a year at 80% and went 4-12 last year. Lmao well that can be easily explained because quarterbacks were throwing to the other side of the field where our depth at CB is horrible. Who did we have oh yea a rookie. Jonathan banks. Though not bad qb’s were having a field day throwing on his side and when he had good coverage Greg Schiano found a way to fuck shit up by putting a DE on a tight end or in the slot making for easy pickings. Shit they barely threw on revis’s side and the only touchdowns that were made on him are due to lack of saftey coverage. So please don’t talk if you are not aware of the facts about revis.

  123. tgregs Says:

Well Joe was dead wrong on Revis (maybe Lovie watched the NO game tape and threw up)

Hopefully the Bucs ignore his JF mancrush as well.

  124. Buc1987 Says:

Revis island 2014…Revis is gone. Get over it.

  125. MTM Says:

Why would Revis take a pay cut. Let’s see he made 16 million last year, played about 11 games( at 85%)and knows that nobody is going to fork over that kind of money ever again. If he stays this year it will be another contract be the same thing all over next year.

  126. shut da buc up Says:

For those dumb fans that can do nothing but take to this forum to gripe…SHUT UP. you do realize our team was horrible last year? quit acting like this NEW front office is breaking up some dynasty. Revis is great but his contract isn’t. I really thought Redskins fans took the cake when it came to complaining and constant griping…nope, that’s all you guys.
