Listen To Mike Mayock

Mike Mayock yesterday at his post-combine press conference.

Want to know why the NFL Network’s Mike Mayock is the best in the business at breaking down the draft? Here, courtesy of Joe’s good friends at WDAE-AM 620, is the audio of Mayock’s end-of-combine press conference.

The guy is an absolute machine. For a full 18-minutes Mayock fields questions about players better than Joe polishes off colds beers on a Friday night. It is impressive.

In this press conference, learn who Mayock thinks is the next Luke Kuechly, what receiver is a “franchise receiver,” if running backs really are devalued, and what two receivers represent the future of the NFL.

Joe came away awestruck as he sat but four feet in front of Mayock while he spread knowledge.

stupid music ad interrupted the audio. I had to restart the whole thing.

OT Mayock is a draft magician. Knows what to look for the ups and downs and works hard on his research.

    Joe-
What happened to the mock drafts you use to publish annually around this time of year?

There’s really no decent mock draft to be had before free agency. They can be fun, but really not too relevant until the dust settles in early March. –Joe

Mayock is great, but makes mistakes too. Remember Cam Newton ?

From what i’ve read about Tom Savage, i would totally take that chance. And we can get him late.
