“Don’t Ask Him To Do Too Much”
February 20th, 2014When Joe wrote this morning he would try to overwhelm you, here is another example. Joe got a chance to talk to “The Professor,” John Clayton of ESPN, this morning at the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Clayton doesn’t buy that having the No. 4 quarterback in a four-team division means the Buccaneers can’t be successful.
Enjoy the juicy tidbits by clicking the arrow below, thanks to Joe’s good friends at WDAE-AM 620.

AGAIN…. Carolina won the division with the 3rd best QB. A guy who barely has an above .500 win-loss record (25-23)
Brees is 110-75.
Ryan is 60-34.
But because Cam Newton is flashy no one talks about his win-loss record.
3rd best QB in division.

@snook
Cam is dynamic and can do things many can not and thats why he receives the noteriety. His “win/loss” record as you say has as much to do with his team overall talent as oppose to his shortcomings. Outside of Smith who does he throw to? Yes, having Gonzalez, Jones, White or Grahm, Cholston, Sproles etc. will have an effect on a qb’s “Win loss record” If Cam was not the QB in carolina, there record would not have been 25-23 over the past 3 years. It would have been much worse.

@Joe
I have the same bottle cap sound on my S4 and it literally made me check my phone because I thought I got an email lol…
@MGM
If Glennon is what you think then what do you honestly think we could get back for him in a trade?
I hope we trade him so we don’t have to hear from any of you whiners anymore personally and maybe you’ll start crying on another blog site..
Call the Raiders Vikings Jags Browns see if you can swindle a 3rd and a 6th for him so we have atleast 7 picks again.
Tired of mediocrity bring in a FRANCHISE QB!

Grabs your attention, doesn’t it? 🙂

Snook,
Sorry to inform you, but Newton is definitely #2 in the division. Take away Julio Jones and what does Matt Ryan do? Newton’s best WR isn’t as good at this point in his career as Jones, Roddy White, and perhaps Harry Douglas, yet Cam Newton still propelled his team to a division crown…Ryan and the Falcons were terrible. Newton did a lot on his own, while Ryan showed what we already knew, he’s a rich man’s Mike Glennon, he needs everything to go right for him to be successful…and apparently, Tony G., Roddy White, Harry Douglas, and Steven Jackson weren’t enough to help him out… and what does Cam Newton have? An old Steve Smith. advantage Newton.

It doesn’t matter how our QB matches up against the rest of the division QBs. Cam Newton didn’t win the division for Carolina this year, the defense did. If Tampa wins the division, it’s gonna be because of the defense, not Glennon. Just like the Seahawks. Who would’ve guessed their offense is ranked 26th in the NFL? Defenses still win championships. If we have the best defense in the NFC South, I couldn’t care less about Glennon being the 4th best QB in our division.
