Johnny Football Hires Dubious Agent

For the Johnny Football haters of the world who also masquerade as Bucs fans, your day has been made. Go out and celebrate.

Johnny Football has signed the notorious Erik Burkhardt as his agent, reports Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal.

@SBJLizMullen: Johnny Manziel has signed with NFL player agent Erik Burkhardt of Select Sports Group, source says. … “Right now Johnny’s focus is his training, working on his game & getting ready for the NFL Combine.” – Johnny Manziel’s agent Burkhardt:

Who is Erik Burkhardt, you ask?

He was also the agent of leaky Rip Van Freeman, who allegedly helped orchestrate the antics of Rip Van Freeman that helped Pearl Harbor the Bucs earlier this season. As Joe has written before, Freeman is at worst, indirectly responsible for three men losing their jobs and perhaps poisoning their careers: former Bucs commander Greg Schiano, former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik and former Vikings head coach and new Bucs defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.

Burkhardt, when given a forum, was quick to blast alleged leaks by the Bucs, asserting they dabbled in breaking Freeman’s privacy in employee matters and those relating to federal privacy laws.

Yet the same nonsense that Freeman pulled in Tampa Bay continued in Minnesota. Funny how Burkhardt never pointed a finger at Minnesota as the root cause of Rip Van Freeman’s irresponsibility. Frazier stuck his neck out for Freeman and was repaid by him being late to numerous meetings and eventually Frazier getting the pink slip.

Doesn’t anyone find it odd that two days after throwing up over himself against the Giants for all the world to see on Monday Night Football, Rip Van Freeman came down with a mysterious concussion and couldn’t beat out Matt Cassel nor Christian Ponder for playing time, not one single snap?

After the drama Team Glazer had to go through with Rip Van Freeman, Joe doubts Team Glazer would want to step in the same hole again.

Oh, Johnny, what did you do?

Celebrate, Johnny Football haters.

Wow, I agree. If I were the Glazers I would not touch him with a 10 foot pole. And I would fire anyone who suggested I consider him.

Johnny is NOT coming here, for sure

  2. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Does the Agent really make a real difference with the NFL draft and the rookie salary structure for First Round picks?

Agents are all about the money…..I don’t think this will have much of an effect.

I think that is the funniest thing I’ve ever read. And I’ve read the transcript for the movie “Airplane.”

Deleted. Does Joe come to your place and spread lies about you. That was really unkind, in addition to false. –Joe

Johnny football’s game will not translate to the pro level anyway get off his band wagon joe!

  5. PRBucFan Says:

    TBBF

    Right as usual lol

Didn’t really bother reading it cause its about the Manchild but I heard Free’s agent is his now?

I suppose now that good ole “franchise QB” Free Free has tanked he had to find himself another project.

  6. Buc1987 Says:

    Jake Matthews looks good.

  7. Harry Says:

    @TBBF
No, I do not think that is Joe’s point. If you were the Glazers and just spent MILLIONS, not only in existing salaries, but also buying FAs, and Free’s agent drops a rumor in the media world that TOTALLY torpedoes any chance the Bucs have at recovering their season, would you want to work with this guy if you don’t have to?

  8. RastaMon Says:

Agents are more than NFL contracts…..should have gone with IMG or similar…short term thinking

  9. Harry Says:

Trade away whatever you have to and get Houstons pick.

    T E D D Y ! ! !

  10. Buxfan Says:

Mock my word, Johnny Manziel will fall in the draft. Too big of a risk to be a top 10 pick. And the Bucs definitely wouldn’t take another risk at a questionable player like him. I hope not. Bucs had enough problems last year. The do not need anymore controversy rolling through One Buc.

  11. PRBucFan Says:

    BRIDGEWATER OR BUST!

  12. Miss the coach Says:

Now that’s the best news I’ve heard all week!

  13. lions Says:

Yeah who knows the real story behind Freeman’s spiral Schiano not to blame for Freeman sole disregard for the team and his destructive whatever he was doing Though I do see the agents and Schiano def. going after it based on Schiano napoleon personality and it spilled out in the public. Does this mean we won’t try get Tillman?

So our first pick and Martin for a trade up and get a QB?

  14. Vern4499 Says:

This agent dropping a so called rumor didn’t ruin the season. The coaches and scheme and lack of in game adjustments did. You think the agent had a hand in us being absolutely pathetic in the second half of games? Come on guys.

    Oh and please draft Johnny.

  15. lou416 Says:

Oh no Johnny! They’ll never draft him with this guy. We will suck again. What a shame. We could’ve use him here

  16. Danimal Says:

Idiots ya’ll are !!! Johnny is the next Montana and if he drops to the Buc’s they will take him whoever the agent is. They should trade their # 1 and Doug Martin to the rams and take JF

  17. BoJim Says:

    @lions

    Trade Martin???

So true, Vern; it was the coaches, not the agent, that ruined the season. Additionally, it was the inconsistent QB play from Ponder mainly that got Frazier fired.

  19. PRBucFan Says:

    Free’s a death sentence to HC’s

  20. christopher schiefen Says:

A little bit dumb, no offense. If Smith & the GM think Johnny Football is Favre 2.0 (& they can count me in that party), then his agent can be Attila the Hun, you sign the player. You just chalk up the Freeman nonsense to Freeman & move on with your life.

  21. NJBucsFan Says:

Just read we are still looking for a OL coach. Sporano re-uped with Oakland according to bleacher report.

  22. Patrick Says:

    Here’s the difference guys:

Freeman wasn’t even good in college, so did it really surprise anyone that he sucked in the pros?

Manziel was unbelievable in college and his potential is out of this world.

  23. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Here’s a newsflash…..If Johnny drops to 7 and Lovie & Jeff want him….the Glazers won’t stand in the way because of his agent….this is the NFL & if the Glazers make decisions like that….they are doomed!
Now…if there is a question as to whether to draft him or not and the Glazers are brought in for the tiebreaker…all bets are off!!!

  24. PRBucFan Says:

    Damn NJBuc that sucks

  25. BucsFan68 Says:

As Joe has written before, Freeman is at worst, indirectly responsible for three men losing their jobs and perhaps poisoning their careers: former Bucs commander Greg Schiano, former Bucs rock star general manager Mark Dominik and former Vikings head coach and new Bucs defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier.
    _______________________________________________________________
Isn’t it just a smidge possible that Schiano and Dominik are responsible for their termination? Josh only played 3 games in 2013. Schiano made the change at QB, calling it a performance based decision. Well the Glazers took the same approach with the HC and GM. Free, Schi, and Dom are gone and won’t be walking through the doors at OBP. The page has been turned.

  26. PRBucFan Says:

I’d bet Lovie wouldn’t take that gamble on his fresh new second chance lol

  27. Bucfan#37 Says:

The Bucs will not trade Martin in any deal to move up in the draft. Manziel will go to Houston, Cleveland or Jacksonville. Good luck to Manziel. On this weekends NFL playoffs, I’ll be rooting for the Seahawks and 49ers. Eliminate the Aint’s and the stinking Panthers. No super bowls for our division foes.

  28. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Chris Weinke, Tim Tebow and Trent Dilfer were amazing in college too. Lights out players. Awesome competitors. Stat machines. Winners.

In the NFL that just means you’re average. At best.

  29. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Plus I don’t want a 5’11” 195 lb little prick quarterbacking my team.

  30. Markie Mark Says:

Which is why he hasn’t completely hitched his wagon to MG8. In my heart of hearts (conspiracy thinking), I had a feeling if Sparano was brought in I could have seen the Bucs pulling a New Orleans Saints for Teddy Ballgame. Lovie mistake last time was hitching his wagon to a QB that wasn’t his and like PRBucFan said he won’t do it twice. Look for the Bucs to bring in some “Competition at the QB” position this offseason, either through the draft or Free Agency

  31. lions Says:

Yup BoJim Martin is a very valuable player and Bucs have a few runners that are very good. Qb more important than elite runner take a look at Carolina.

  32. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    How quickly we forget…Ryan Leaf..Jamarcus Russell…Brady Quinn..add your own.

Yes there are the John Elways of the world but they are far and few between. Can anybody here tell me the ratio of 1st round successes at Q.B compared to those who failed or were mediocre.

The problem with GAMBLING on a Q.B.. in the first round is you have to place a heavy bet. Look how much money went to JFree? How much went to Quinn, Leaf and Russell.

Somebody who knows more than me about this can tell us what the new caps in first contracts in the CBA means. Perhaps that limits our liability.

I’m just ready to waste yet another first round pick. Q.B. is the most important position on the team. But it is still a TEAM sport. We have plenty of needs we can fill and work on signing a solid pro to give Glennon some competition.

  33. Walter Says:

    YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! 😀

    FU(K JOHNNY FOOTBALL!

  34. Vern4499 Says:

    Flyboyindallas,

Everyday you call Johnny a little prick. What does that make you since I’m assuming you are calling someone a prick who you have never met? Hmmm

  35. Eric Says:

On no that is awful news.

Although if the Glazers actually went after Chucky it tells me they want to win and could overlook the agent.

It would be shortsighted and foolish not to take a guy you want due to an agent.

The kid is going to be a superstar. Hold your nose and get him anyway Glazers.

  36. Andrew 1 Says:

I really didnt want to believe that Freeman was as irresponsible and immature as they said he was but when even the Vikings players are calling him out for pulling off the same shenanigans he did here, you know its true. as for as this wonderful piece of news, all I got to say is… Hallelujah!

  37. Go Bucs Says:

Well this article makes me fell very safe as a Bucs fan! I dislike JF (Johnny Football) so much. So to hear JF’s agent is JF’s (Josh Freeman) agent it made me smile. GO BUCS…

  38. Andrew 1 Says:

if we draft him I think Ill have a heart attack and/or stroke lol.

  39. BigMacAttack Says:

I don’t care who Lovie drafts. I believe he will bring in some free agent with experience and game. He will make this team better, Johnny Football or not. I’m over Schiano, Freeboob and Dominick. Never really saw Joe Flacco as a great QB and he won the Super Bowl. Beef up the two lines and pound that damn rock. And that’s all I have to say about that.

  40. Buc1987 Says:

Joe and I want the Bucs to draft Jake Matthews if he’s available.

  41. Macabee Says:

We lost Sparano, but HOF player and former coach Mike Munchak is interviewing with the Texans for O-Line coach today, not OC, but O-Line coach. We should send the plane for him and not let him leave Tampa. He was terrible coach like Marinelli, but recognized as one of the best O-Line coaches in the NFL.

  42. Andrew 1 Says:

so we didn’t get Sparano??? what the hell is it with us and always striking out on the coaches we want to get.

  43. JFat Says:

If we trade up to the 2 spot and take anyone other than Clowney I’ll barf, a lot. I’d sit on the 7 pick and take Mathews or Watkins. Manziel is too risky, dancing around in the pocket won’t work too well with his fram especially seeing that Carolina front 7 twice a year. Give Glennon a shot with a good staff and hopefully a better o-line.

  44. Eric Says:

I’m not a fan of Carr or Bridgewater. Carr throws jump ball passes every other throw and Bridgewater winds it up like Byron Leftwich.

Manziel can hit the receiver in stride on all the throws, quick release, scramble his butt off, throws great on the run and is fast as hell if he has to run.

    A complete package.

If you guys want a big QB Jamarcus Russell is making a comeback. He’s huge.

  45. PRBucFan Says:

    Mark it up

    Brigewater is a bust

Manchild is the next Peyton Manning

  46. PRBucFan Says:

    Bridgewater*

  47. Cmurda Says:

Sparano staying in Oakland hurts. I thought that was a done deal. I bet Oakland made him an offer he couldn’t refuse as they recognized his value. Oh well.

  48. Arealbucsfan Says:

@Eric. Teddy is nothing like Byron leftwich, he has one of the quickest release ive seen. Watch some tape

  49. Richmondtxbucsfan Says:

    Manziel=tebow

  50. deminion Says:

    Draft Watkins!!!!

  51. Architek Says:

Manziel is not a pro football quarterback

  52. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    @PRBucFan

I’m saying the same thing about Jake Matthews

2014 BCS Championship, solidified what a dominate LT Greg Robinson is. He compliments the mano-o-mano smashmouth style of play Tedford & Sparano implores. Reminds me a lot of Walter Jones.

  53. Patrick Says:

The Manziel/Tebow comparisons make absolutely no sense, being that Manziel can actually throw the ball pretty damn well unlike Tebow who couldn’t even beat out Sanchez in NY.

  54. Lev Says:

Don’t worry Mr. Joe, next year’s draft will have AT LEAST Winston, Mariota and Hundley all of which are really mobile.

  55. JonBuc Says:

Sparano is a fake tough guy that celebrates fgs…no biggie.

  56. ronco Says:

Manziel isn’t going to be available at 7 so there’s no point speculating anyway. Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland and possibly Oakland could all use QBs.

Also, people on here are always talking about “franchise” QBs… I don’t believe a mobile QB on the lighter side fits that bill.

  57. Eric Says:

That’s why we trade up to 2nd pick to get him.

  58. Orca Says:

Johnny Doucheball has no chance of being a Buccaneer.

  59. Analacubana Says:

Bet we could get Johnny Football if he got a look at our fine establishments on Dale Mabry! Lmao! Or Ybor! Lmao

  60. PRBucFan Says:

Willing to bet we have more of a chance to get any of the other QB’s before him.

Not only do I not think Lovie would take that gamble or that he’s a Lovie guy

But Tedford’s system is not Manchild friendly.

  61. Buc1987 Says:

Lev…Winston is not exactly mobile. Shifty, yes. Accurate as hell, yes. Incredible leadership qualities, yes. Not very fast though. Do I want the Bucs to wait and draft him in 2015? Yes!

PRB…Winston is the next Manning not Manziel.

Ha ha ha I know shocker we disagree. (sarcasm)

  62. Andrew 1 Says:

I think his statement about Manziel was also sarcastic.

  63. mpmalloy Says:

Bet we could get Johnny Football if he got a look at our fine establishments on Dale Mabry! Lmao! Or Ybor! Lmao

Johnny would make it rain every night.

  64. buchead407 Says:

    All in on clowney

  65. PRBucFan Says:

    Ding Ding Ding!

Andrew 1 is correct on the detection of definite sarcasm lol

No way in hell I actually believe that Manchild will ever be near Manning ahaha

  66. Captain Buc Says:

Build a team first. Then get a QB

  67. buccanAy Says:

Breaking news…Johnny Football farts….enough already…you,re startin to look like a love struck teenage girl, looking for her first piece of A$$.

  68. Eric Says:

Here we go with the “kind of guy” BS.

We just went through a complete disaster with Mr. “Buccaneer men”.

Remember Dungy once traded for Keshawn after he had written “just throw me the damn ball”. And Simeone Rice had some odd behaviors too.

Nobody complained when Michael Pittman helped us win a SB. He had issues. Or even Sapp daddy – he had a bit of mustard on the hotdog. Sapp can be a total jerk ask anyone who asked for an autograph. Anyone care?

These guys want to win. And Glennon is not the way to do that. I’m betting Lovie understands that. Now is the time for bold action.

We’re building a football team not a choir.

  69. ted Says:

why are we evev talking about the draft. many free agent signings will totaly change the draft picture

  70. buccanAy Says:

Ok..that was too much..apology offererd..late night cocktails…but man, we know your opinion on JFF, lets let it play out…its every other article, and your starting to shown stalking/obsessive tendency’s..all in good fun.

  71. buchead407 Says:

    Clowneyl

  72. TorusW Says:

So where’s the evidence of Josh Freeman sabotaging/poisoning the team internally w/ his agent? I saw no confirmed news on this..

  73. BucNasty!!! Says:

Ppl have a hard time believing we would trade up to draft Bridgewater moving from pick 7 to either 1 or 2 (not me though I’m all for trading up teddy) so how do u supposed we are getting Winston next year?? Do u truly believe we’ll b pickin n the top 5 do u think we’ll give up more next year then we would this year??? Highly unlikely n my book. Drop that call to Mr Bridgewater and tell him to come on Down like the price is right lol

  74. Seth B Says:

Can someone just write an article summing up the events in which happened with. #5. Point fingers in all directions, say if freeman is drunk, gay, cokehead or at least write what the accusations are. Then explain who wasn’t guilty of leaking info or whatever. Write a 5 page masterful piece. National media would be all over it and so would everyone else. Explain the whole story Joe … We all want to know.

  75. Denny Says:

So Freeman is to blame for this entire season??? Damn man let it go. He was cut after week 3. How is he to blame for that loss in week 5, week 6, week 7, week 8,…. Oh I know Freeman was “torpedoing” the Bucs when he caused the Bucs to lose that Week 14 game. And don’t get me started on how Freeman just blind sided the Bucs and caused them the loss in Week 16. That week 16 loss has Freeman written all over it.

But it absolutely has nothing to do with Schiano giving “Even-Though-The-Season-Is-Over-He-Is-Still-Taking-Sacks-Glennon” all the playing time in the pre-season. Does it?

  76. Red86 Says:

1.Kelvin Benjamin<=="Calvin Johnson potential & bare minimal Julio Jones" or 2.Sammy Watkins for the offense. Offense need more speed and play makers at WR and TE.

2.Barr or 1.Clowney for the defense. Pass rush pass rush pass rush. Whom ever that can get the pass rush should only be drafted here for the defense.

I'm fine with these guys at the 7th pick. Hope we get Winston next year, because we need more than just QB to be great. Bring in a rookie into a crappy o line blocking can ruin them. We should use this year to get more key pieces to the team. When we get a rookie qb with a better supporting cast, the transition from college to pros in theory should be easier. Plus, Winston's contagious leadership abilities would do wonders for this team. But, only one can dream.

  77. feelthepewterpower Says:

Wow, Joe. Disagree with your Freeman bashing. not the Free is an elite qb by an stretch, but was Freeman worse than Glennon? No. The Buccs easily could have been 2-1 in a tough part of the schedule. Who’s to say Schiano didn’t leak the info to get him ousted. players quickly lashed out their disrespect for Schiano, and it was rumored that Schiano still have to loosen the grip even further even after Freeman was gone. this tells me Schiano never had full support of the looker room. Why didn’t we hear of Freeman’s issue the year prior when the team was 7-9 (should of been at least 10-6, 11-5, but that’s the d’s fault not Freeman’s)….

you’re overblowing the minny situation as well. the coach didnt want freeman because the GM brought him in for a game. it’s like telling your coach we dont feel you can coach. freeman’s first game back after how many games off, on prime time (added pressure) in basically a vanilla offense preseason mode.

it’s also freeman’s fault dominik signed him to that contract, and he got to double dip??

  78. feelthepewterpower Says:

schiano, dominik, and frazier have no one to blame but themselves.

  79. BuccoBill Says:

So let me get this straight Joe, If you don’t believe Johnny Football is a good fit for the Bucs then you’re not a real Bucs Fan? Screw you Joe! I’ve been followin’ this team for years and I am very disappointed that you would take a shot at those who disagree with you like that. I’ve always had respect for your writing in the past, whether I agreed or not but that was pretty shitty! I expect it from the comment section but not from the main story.

  80. Tut Says:

I’d take Bortles over Manziel… Manziel will get injured or suspended for “off-field” issues in the NFL. He’s too immature mentally and will not make the dedication needed to succeed. He is the next Matt Leinart!!!

  81. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Joe, I think maybe this is good news for you. Remember the rumors surrounding Warren Sapp in the draft? They caused Sapp to fall to the Bucs.

This hiring of the agent in question may well be what causes Johnny to drop to us at seven.

Personally, I’m hoping a story about Clowney supposedly smoking pot leaks out the day before the draft.

If I had a choice between the two, I would take Clowny because it would turn our dline into an irrestable force.

Then I would take a QB in round two and hope either he or Glennon excels. If not, I would try to get a good one next year.

  82. PRBucFan Says:

Freeman was poison, end of story

  83. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

Anybody think James will be moved to fullback? He is a punishing, hardhitng runner, and I could see Lovie wanting that WD-40 feel again.

  84. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

    Tut Says
“He is the next Matt Leinart!!!”

I was thinking Ryan Leaf, but I suppose that dates me.

It is also possible he could be the next Brett Favre. Those are the risks with first round picks…any picks. You gamble and probably 6 of 9 times you lose…unless you are Greg Schiano. He hit on all three of his first rounders.

  85. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

As I sit hear after a really late night of work, I’ve been checking todays wires.

Michael Brown arrested in MO. Resisting arrest. Isn’t it the same place that tried to trump up charges on Adrian Peterson?

Redskins staffer Morocco Brown is interviewing for the GM job, among others. He’s a Bruce Allen disciple and with a name like that, I’m kind of hoping he wins the job. He’s got the resume, and he is the only candidate I’ve seen that has exposure to the financial side of the job under Bruce Allen, who has said works closely with Brown.

Skins fans consider him their only good remaining staffer and want him to stay.

The Bucs have also lined up an interview with Marc Ross and requested permission to interview Tom Gamble.

  86. trubucfan22 Says:

Does joe really think that freeman alone got those 3 fired? Freeman played 1 game for the vikings. And im sure frazier didnt csre to have freeman on his team to begin with. So that is a stretch.

Do you really think schianos terrible game day coaching was all freemans fault to? Last i checked the bucs were far removed from freeman when they got pounded by the saints in week 17.

Lastly mark dominick. I do feel freeman could have a part to do with his firing. But i think his coaching hires, and huge spending sprees with out results were what really did him in.

  87. Brandon Says:

I’d like to know the truth about Freeman. I want to know about all of the stories about his work ethic, first one in, last one out stuff. That’s all we heard for four years… and then this season he couldn’t even get out of bed, was a mainstay in the Tampa nightlife, got blasted by Esiason for poor work ethic… what is the truth?

  88. gulfcoast Says:

Lol masquerade as bucs fans… I think one author is unhappy about this news!

  89. The_Buc_Realist Says:

I just hope on draft night, that St. Pete closes the Skyway. I would hate to see the Joe’s in the JBF Station wagon heading to the Skyway for the big leap when the Bucs Pass on a certain Johnny Football.

  90. bucsfan13 Says:

No different than you saying I masquerade as a bucs fan because I think johnny football will fail in the NFL and the bucs should never draft him.

    Very true the buc realist

  91. flmike...hates Johnny Football Says:

You guys have no idea how badly Freeman and his agents worked to get him out of Tampa and torpedo Schino, if you knew half the story you wouldn’t be defending him or his antics, let’s just say throwing games was not out of the realm of possibilities.

  92. The_Buc_Realist Says:

And anyone that thinks that it did not go on for years is sadly mistaken, anyone that went out once and a while in Tampa could see what was going on. The worst part is the media that took what was coming out of One Buc Front office as gospel without fact checking a thing.

  93. Buxfan Says:

Johnny could go to Cleveland at the 26 spot. If not, he could fall out of first round. It happens every year. He’s that player this year who could fall like a ton of bricks. Questions for him is does he want the NFL limelight or a Hall of Fame career. How serious will he take the off seasons? How crazy of a lifestyle will he have as he represent the NFL sheild? Will his ego be bigger than the team and city he plays for? Could he hold up to the NFL pounding? Could he play in a pro-style offense? Too many questions to be answered for him to get drafted in the first round.

  94. Joe Says:

I just hope on draft night, that St. Pete closes the Skyway. I would hate to see the Joe’s in the JBF Station wagon heading to the Skyway for the big leap when the Bucs Pass on a certain Johnny Football.

    LOL!!!

  95. Joe Says:

Joe and I want the Bucs to draft Jake Matthews if he’s available.

That would be a fine pick.

  96. SignedontoSay Says:

Joe is a bit sensitive for some that puts his opinion out in cyber world IN THE THIRD PERSON!

Joe’s not sure what sensitivity you’re referring to, but Joe is pleased to be passionate and defensive like most of his fellow fans. —Joe

  97. bucray1 Says:

well joe , just thought you should know that i am not a johhny manziel fan , how about that! does that mean i must now give up my club seat tickets and denounce the the team that i have rooted for long before you were able to write. just so you know i have no plans of doing that just because you have a man crush on a 21 year old boy. i have been an ardent fan and supporter of the BUCS since the day it was announced this area would pursue an nfl franchise. i was at the very first game in pre-season 1976 to root for my team. you would be hard-pressed to find a more loyal fan than me. i am insulted that you would take a ridiculous stance like that and call into question the support and loyalty of “our” fanbase. anf FYI if johhny football is drafted by us , i will root for him as hard as any other member of the team. most of the time i enjoy reading your articles and insight, too bad in this case , you reverted to schlock status. an apology to all of us fans is required and will be graciously accepted if you choose to do so. DO THE RIGHT THING!!

  98. Analacubana Says:

@bucray1, you are a true fan. You like me had to live through the Culverhouse days. We’ve seen a lot of bad drafts in our days as Bucs fans. As for Johnny Manziel, I have seen players like him and I don’t trust him as an NFL PLAYER. But if the Bucs buy into the hype. Then I will support him and the team.

Joe said: For the Johnny Football haters of the world who also masquerade as Bucs fans,

Joe, this statement is completely unfair to other Bucs fans. Just because we have a difference of opinion, does not make us any less a fan. Having said that, I’m sure the spirit of the post is just to poke fun at the anti-JFF crew and I can take it.

Oh happy day, no Johny “Spoiled Rotten” Football! See Joe, all your praise of him and look how his pro career begins. You know deep in your heart all the red flags mean trouble down the road. You wait and see. #NFLBust

I’m all for taking jfootball if he slides late first or second to trade up.
With the seventh pick take clowney or Watkins

We can get OL DL LB depth in free agency

Dont forget about Raheem Morris as well… If Freeman played up to the ‘franchise QB’ tag everyone was so happy to put on him without him ever having any competition, Raheem would still be the coach. So he has actually helped ruin the jobs of 4 head coaches.

As for J Football, I dont think he will be there when the bucs pick and Lovie will probably grab a defensive lineman or linebacker anyway.
