See You Next Week, Sgt. Winslow
May 13th, 2009Beat scribe Pat “Vacation Man” Yasinskas, of BSPN.com, updates the busy schedule of the Bucs new $20 million guaranteed tight end Kellen Winslow, Jr.
Sgt. Winslow is one of two veterans far too busy for the voluntary Bucs practices this week, the other being Son of Bob, who has effectively been told to get lost.
A team official just told me that Winslow had notified the coaching staff that he had some personal business to tend to this week. The team official declined to elaborate on the personal business, but said it was not something of concern to the team. Winslow has indicated to the team that he plans to be back for voluntary workouts next week.
There may be a great excuse/reason for Winslow’s absence. However, Joe guesses the Bucs would have been forthcoming with it if it indeed existed.
Regardless, it’s a major red flag and a downer for those fans who believe in the highest paid tight end in the NFL, who also skipped some other Bucs practice time just prior to getting his fat new contract.
