Mike Sullivan Wouldn’t Talk About Army

In case you missed it, Bucs offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, a West Point grad, was the subject of a FOX Sports report Monday that claimed he’s in the mix to interview for the Army head coaching job.
Today, Sullivan was asked about it at One Buc Palace, and he politely told reporters it would be inappropriate for him to comment and that he had no plans to do that today.
So it’s pretty clear to Joe that the FOX report had merit.
Sullivan also interviewed for the Chicago Bears head coaching vacancy last January. Regardless, Joe thinks the odds are good that Sullivan will be free to interview for any job he wants in a matter of days. Captaining the NFL’s worst offense is usually a coaching death sentence.

I am so tired of Sully’s lame answers to questions…”Well, we have to get better….its a combination of things”…..duh!

Having said that…I see he laid a 1-11 egg in his head coaching debut…WTF do I know?! 🙂

Does anyone have someone in mind to replace Sully if Schiano is retained? There may not be a long line of applicants wanting to work under him. I would rather make less money and have a great boss who trusts me to do my job rather than being micromanaged. And for any managers out there who do believe in micromamagement let me just tell you that it causes morale to go down the toilet. I know some people are not motivated enough on thier own without being micromanaged but I would say employees will try harder for a manager/coach who can motivate his team to want to win for him or her and then allow them to do thier jobs. This is not intended to bash any individual in the Bucs organization nor readers on this site. Micromanagement is a proven failed management style and most people do not want to work under those conditions. I do agree that Sully is not doing a good enough job though, just not sure who not at Rutgers we get to come here without a complete coaching change.

Yes, I think Sully sees the handwriting on the wall and is preparing for the inevitable. If Schiano stays on then I wouldn’t be surprised if McNulty doesn’t become OC. He’s been working with Glennon so it would be a smooth transition in that regard. I’m sure there will be a number of shakeups next year both in coaches and players. It will be interesting to watch.
