GMC Making Bucs History

It blows Joe away that there are actually people out there who still hate Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy. These are simply little people, who clearly don’t watch games and must have agendas or unresolved childhood issues because they don’t like nice people.
GMC is as good of a guy as there is. Yet his haters loathe that about him. They are jealous of his success.
How much success? Well, GMC has been doing things this year that haven’t been seen at the Stadium on Dale Mabry Highway in 13 years.
This season, Gerald McCoy has eight sacks. That’s the most sacks by a Bucs defensive tackle since Hall of Famer Warren Sapp collected 16.5 in 2000. Now this stunned Joe, that Sapp hadn’t had double-digit sacks since. That is pretty incredible.
Imagine how much better GMC would be if the Bucs had a consistent pass rusher from the edge. Or more importantly, had a guy from the edge who actually rushed the quarterback on a consistent basis, not being pulled out of position by some weird stunt to cover a wide receiver.

i love GMC i think he is a great player and overall good guy even though he’s alittle to goofy for a defensive tackle but that being said if it werent for this coaching staff he could actually probably have had double digit sacks by now and even posted more sacks last year. but this is just one year he’s had that kind of production so after one year of big time numbers what does that say about him? adrian claiborne came in as a rookie and got 7 sacks, im not ready to write him off as nothing simply because of bad scheming and stunting calls!!!! we had edge rushers in claiborne and michael bennett but greg schiano and dominick decided bennett wasnt good enough to get another contract. no excuses are present as to why we dont get pressure and why they should keep their jobs because the rotation of roy miller and akeem spence would have been amazing as would michael bennett and well anybody…..
this coaching staff is pathetic and every level….who other than schiano and other desperate coaches thinks up a scheme that puts your best interior pass rusher on the edge? losers calling the shots at one buc place

Sapp only had double digit sacks in 3 times while he was in Tampa and 4 times in his career.

I question is leadership and competitive drive to demand more from his team mates, but there is no question that his skills are elite. It shows how sad the DEs are really.

Early on he was proving to be a china doll with how fragile he was and that was a HUGE legitimate question mark.
That cannot be argued.
Now that he’s on the field he’s coming on strong and is amazing.
Who knows what kind of numbers he would have if he had been able to stay on the field?
Hopefully he proves that he’s not the china doll he came off to be and he stays healthy.

He was never a china doll moron. He tore his biceps twice which is an injury that rarely reoccurs since the repair actually makes the muscle stronger. China doll….what an idiot. I’m sure you were calling him a bust. Such an eye for talent….

An idiot for stating the truth? He spent more time injured in his first couple seasons than he did on the field and it wasn’t just his biceps it was too often. How rare it is? That doesn’t mean anything they still occurred and guess what, those biceps injuries occur from an improper form of arm tackling which did actually fall on him. He was proving to be FRAGILE
And your assumption is an incorrect one.
I was one of his greatest supporters and have always remained so.
Stating the truth that he was frequently hurt doesn’t change that.
So please, think before you open that fat mouth.

I don’t know how anybody can say anything negative towards 93, he’s seriously turned his game around and now is forcing teams to try and scheme against him, he’s stoudt in both the pass rush and running game, and I guarantee that every team would LOVE to have McCoy, and he’s someone you don’t have to worry about off the field either,a true ambassador of the Buccaneers….even sprung for a movie premier for a load of his Twitter fans, I am proud as can be the Bucs have Gerald McCoy, and his body of work has only just begun!

I was a non-believer until last season when GMC proved he could stay healthy and be dominant at times. This season he has consistently been dominant and if he had anything remotely close to a supporting cast around him on the DL, he would be putting up insane numbers. But because we have ZERO threats at DE to force QBs to step up, he has had a much rougher road.
Cincy DE Michael Johnson, Panther DE Hardy, and several other young DEs could be available (Mike Bennett is on a one year deal). We need to restructure our bloated OG salaries and we will have tons of cash. Then inthe draft, we go best available player.
