Miami Drops A Deuce

November 12th, 2013

Joe will have much more in the wee hours and in the a.m. about tonight’s win against the Dolphins, but a stunning stat that sticks out is the Dolphins only managing two yards rushing on 14 carries. That’s got to be somewhere close to an NFL record.

The Bucs channeled their No. 1 ranked rush defense of 2012, swarming to the football and getting in the backfield.

The pass rush is still pathetic, and the Bucs are weak where the cornerback is not named Revis, but there’s enough talent on the field to make plays and stuff the run. That will win plenty of games against lesser quarterbacks and depleted offenses. The Bucs still have a few of those opponents on their schedule.

Sorry to hear about Mike James, but looking forward when everybody is well again, we’re going to have 3 pretty good backs with Doug Martin and Bobby Rainey in the stable. We need a speedy slot receiver and a good all-around TE.

If Rainey keeps showing up when given the opportunities, i wonder what that does for Demps. Looking like the odd man out right now.

You would think that in the second year of the Offense, people would stop calling it the slot receiver. what we need is a solid 3RD receiver. Unless we change offensive schemes, our receivers routinely line up in multiple positions on the field. There were many times Jackson lines up in the slot last night.

With that being said, I still think we need a better 3rd option than Underwood/Page.
