Dolphins Are Playing Weak Football
November 9th, 2013Despite squeaking out a win over Cincinnati on Thursday Night Football last week, the Dolphins have been on a downward trend, losing four of their last five games.
Then, of course, there is the current mess in South Florida that not just cost the Dolphins their entire starting left side of their offensive line, but could cost popular general manager Jeff Ireland and coach Joe Philbin their jobs.
Joe was doing some research last night about the Dolphins and stumbled across a Twitter from Josh Katzowitz of CBS Sports, where he documents just how mediocre if not poor the Dolphins truly are.
@joshkatzowitz: Here’s how the Dolphins rank in NFL categories.
Pass defense: 22nd
Rush defense: 21st
Pass offense: 21st
Rush offense: 22nd
Consistency!
As Joe has written before, the Dolphins have been coughing up 4.5 sacks a game. And this is when meathead Richie Incognito and Jonathan Martin were starting at left guard and left tackle. That no longer is the case.
If Joe were Bucs defensive coordinator Bill Sheridan, the first thing he would do is knock off these cute stunts that actually often take players out of position to make plays, and load up your defense on the right side of the ball and flood that area with linemen, with linebackers, with blitzing corners.
Beat on Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill so much his wife will scream for Joe’s warm embrace.

The backups for Miami may be better than the starters. If you look at the Bucs OL over the last 4 years, backups have outperformed their injured starters. I think Bostad is a keeper and I was happy to see Meredith back on the line.

The dolphins drafted their version of Charles McRae. And because he is a sniffling weakling- they may lose their GM, Coach, and best lineman.
Over one player- who lacks the mental toughness to deal with men.
And yet- sadly, they would still be a better team than us.

At least we dumped McRae, without any tears shed but his.
That was probably a case of Kleenex!

Back to football miamis back ups actually did well against the bengals front 4. Yeah Atkins went down but Dunlap and Johnson didn’t do anything either. We also didn’t do squat against seattles depleted OL.

joe my friend to escape with a win against the bengals this year is saying alot because of the way that team has been playing this year. once again i think it’s kinda strange to write an article about an up and coming opponent playing weak football especially if were the underdogs, especially since they have a win and we are 1 of 2 teams yet to win a game.
Miami has 4 things in common that with every opponent we faced this year.
1. we had and have enough talent to beat them all including seattle
2.they were all missing key pieces to their offense arizona was down to practice squad linebackers
3. lol they all have win
4. they all have better coaches
i just dont get why all of a sudden in tampa bay’s mind bucs are suddenly on the rise, i didnt know games were played the week, games are won during the week and for 2 years we’ve game planned for two halves of football. Which brings me to another point. even when josh freeman was here we have john mcnulty on staff who schiano originally wanted as his offensive coordinator. IF sullivan is up in the booth focusing on playcalling then what the hell is mcnulty doing or the entire coaching staff why isnt they cant see what adjustments were made against them every week. and another thing
Joe someone needs to ask what mcnulty’s role since he isnt going to help mike glennon with mechanics and doesnt seem to know anything about the offense OR being a quarterback coach. Why is it that we had a 4 year veteran and sullivan had to be down on the field, we get a green rookie who can barely throw 20 yards downfield and sully goes up in the booth…i dont get it if they are interacting while not on the field through the phone of that headset. If anyone thinks the bucs have figured out something please please point it out or ask schiano to point it out because otherwise until they show us on the field they’ve figured it out i really dont wanna hear it. raheem couldnt score in the first half and won more games than schiano which means they had lots of comeback wins. I’m tired of seeing people be impressed with one half of football, i thought second half was the one that’s most important because thats when coaches adjust to how their being attacked and well game ends in the second half and this team has showed nothing that should suggest upset

lol i come here everyday and point out all the flaws in the bucs plan because schiano doesnt have one…..i seem to remember in training camp everyone else saying that wide receiver was the deepest spot on the roster lol what happened? we got greg cosell saying vjack is on the decline even though he’s had 2 games over 100 yards but he’s taking all the heat for not having a quarterback that can throw him the ball…..EVERYONE says josh freeman sucked but vjack was a superstar lol now you mean to tell me that all of a sudden vjack has lost it and glennon is on the rise
@JOE i looked up some stats of my own since you are getting people all excited for a let down.
Here’s how the Dolphins rank in NFL categories.
Pass defense: 22nd
Rush defense: 21st
Pass offense: 21st
Rush offense: 22nd
Consistency!
Here’s how the Buccaneers rank in NFL categories.
points per game: 31st
yards per game: 31st
rush yards per game: 31st
Rush offense: 18th
Let the bucs win a game because everyone starts saying we turned the corner but were still 0-8

absolutely don’t get the logic of this “post”. dolphins just beat a very formidable Bengals team, in a CLOSE game, BTW, something we’ve yet to do under Shiano. Where are the Dolphins weaker? Not Qb,wr,Te…maybe oline, but are you sure? Dline..nope, secondary, we on paper, but the game is played on the field. Are they beatbable, YES? But weak, compared to us, and our “off field” issues, and our WinLoss record? Most importantly, our lack of ability to produce a winning game-plan, or effective scheme on both sides of the ball.

Lucky im not playing

@Joe
Are you trying to say the nice are bottom feeders of nfl rankings jus bcuz they played one good half of football? Since they lost doesn’t that mean they had to play really bad to lose that game? There’s no yea but or if this or that. There’s what you do and don’t do…Lol hey Tampa bay were not the yucks anymore because the mrsa does and there’s no drama going on. Now that Freeman gone were on the rise!!!!! Lol schiano got rid of man beasts and replaced his staff with yes men, there’s no way dave wannstedt he’s probably the smart one since Schiano is giving him plenty of free time to update the resume
