Joseph Gives Himself An 80

November 7th, 2013

Everyone knows Bucs former Pro Bowl guard Davin Joseph is returning from massive knee surgery (Cadillac Williams’ style and worse) about 15 months ago, plus a staph infection earlier this year.

He hasn’t been very good, but Joseph was improved along with his linemates on Sunday. Asked today about how he’s playing, Joseph gave himself a modest grade.

“Performance-wise, probably about 80 percent,” Joseph said. ” I still feel like I’m messing up on little things, little things that can really help us be a better team. You just gotta do better.”

Joseph went on to attribute his grade to part technique/part rust from a full season off.

Frankly, Joe hopes that’s the case with Joseph. If he’s largely healthy but rusty and off on some fine points, then that’s all correctable. That means he should have a strong second half and be ready for 2014. If Joseph’s just getting old, he turns 30 this month, then there’s no legal fix for that.

Bully Joseph? Not happening. Joseph is from the Bell Glade muck! They don’ play dat!

Wow…an 80? He was being pretty kind on himself. If he is still injured, why is he even playing? A Davin Joseph at 80% is just not getting it done.

    I hope Joseph bounces back.

He is playing for his job, think about it. Schian0-8 is needing a win more than ever. Say Schiano gets ousted, Dom joins, the players are next.

Joe mentioned how attractive this job could be for another head coach, with the #1 pick. What about from a GMs stand point? # 1 pick, pick your HC etc.

he must mean an an 80/1000. Dude has been a complete turnstyle out there.

He, along with the rest of the line, played by far their best game in Seattle. If they play that well or better in Monday, we could finally get a win. And Joseph hasn’t been terrible out there. Just definitely not himself, but I don’t think he’s playing for his job. Dude will get healthy and hopefully be a buc for the rest of his career.

This will be his final season as a Buc unless he takes a tremendous pay cut…and even then it might not be enough. A solid career in Tampa indeed….
