It all started yesterday when former Bucs wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson claimed on an obscure San Francisco sports radio show that Bucs icon Warren Sapp was a precursor to Richie Incognito, calling Sapp a Bucs bully who did his best to humiliate and belittle Bucs defensive lineman Chidi Ahanotu.
Suddenly Ahanotu, who probably hasn’t spoken 40 words to media members about football the past four years, was on more radio shows than Dan Tullis and Joel Clark, recounting his battles, both physical and mental, with Sapp.
Now Joe has no way to verify what happened because the alleged Sapp backing down to a challenge from Ahanotu incident happened behind closed doors. But Booger McFarland, former Bucs defensive tackle, now of WHFS-FM 98.7, has had enough and claims Keyshawn and Ahanotu are conning Bucs fans, as documented by Joe’s good friend Justin Pawlowski, otherwise known as “The Commish.”
“Chidi Ahanotu is a bold face liar and Keyshawn Johnson is a bold face liar,” former Buccaneer Booger McFarland said on the Booger and Rich Show Thursday afternoon on 98.7 The Fan.
McFarland said that the Bucs drafted him out of college in the 1st round to replace Warren Sapp. If Sapp was going to bully anyone in that locker room, it had to be the player who was supposed to replace him. Booger said that Sapp “embraced him with open arms. Because Chidi Ahanotu had an axe to grind, he called Warren Sapp a bully.”
Again, all this happened behind closed doors. What Joe does know is that Keyshawn and Sapp are avowed enemies. This is nothing new.
Joe has heard from reliable sources that at least one time, Ahanotu and Sapp threw down in the locker room, but there is no way Joe can verify this. The two were cat and dog and never got along.
It saddens Joe that all of this talk may cloud Sapp’s shining moment Monday night, when his number is retired.

I heard Chidi on Ron and Ian this morning. I didn’t hear the other interviews so maybe he said more then but from what I heard he went out of his way to be very diplomatic about the whole thing. Never really actually calling Sapp a bully.
It’s no secret that him and Sapp didn’t get along. I think this is just a case of Keyshawn blowing something up to try and make himself sound relevent.
Also…Booger’s radio show is the worst.

Nothing that Keyshawn or Chidi could ever say, would diminish my opinion of Warren Sapp. He did everything- for the good of the team.
Keyshawn did everything, for the good of Keyshawn.

Ian Beckles said it best, “Sapp has nasty”. Alike with Terrell Suggs.
We need some nasty on our DLine. Clowney could be the bad cop and GMC can be the good cop. Bottom line is we are WASTING GMC’s talent without putting another stud on the line.
Clayborn provides outstanding effort, Bowers is still getting healthy. Teo is whatever. Michael Bennett has that “nasty”.
More and more I think about Schiano saying, “Bowers should be a 10 sack guy”, because our GM severed ties with a 10 sack DE? Who knows why Bennett left. He obviously thrived despite Schiano. Surely, the Bucs let him play with his torn shoulder, but they wouldn’t offer that same guy a contract? Pathetic, especially since we didn’t even attempt to sign any FA depth.
Are we setting ourselves up to make some cuts, trade back, draft a butt load of talent and put this team where it needs to be?
We are 18m under the cap right now. Roll that over, make Penn, Joseph and Nicks renegotiate and RELOAD FAs. Trade back, acquire an ass ton of pick and future picks. Build this thing right, once and for all.

I call all this jealousy!
I thank Sapp for not only being such a great player but for being my mouthpiece as a fan. After years and years of being ragged on for being a Bucs fan. I had Sapp out there to talk some trash and then back it up.
Chidi and Keyshawn don’t be so damn jealous.

I just don’t know that Clowney is going to be a bust. I think he will turn it on, he is just waiting for the NFL. Clowney is a Julius Peppers like talent.
I don’t know that he will be a bust? Maybe, but I think Bryan Cox will have him in line.
Could you imagine having the best 4-3 end prospect since Peppers? I’ll take me chances.
We need to improve in the trenches, either way. It all starts up front. See how Sheldon Richardson made the already good Jets D damn good?
We need some damn good talent to rotate on our line.
We should seriously consider shopping the pick, smart play and could give us a ton of picks.

You have to consider the source of the information. Keyshawn wasn’t exactly a team guy in Tampa. He seemed to be more concerned about his own personal success than the success of the team. He was basically kicked off the team, probably for those reasons. Sapp might not have seen eye to eye with all of his teammates, but what NFL player has?

The Bucs players past and present will not let circus limelight go. Regardless of how people felt about Warren, let him have is fun and respect what he did on the field. Shut your mouths and stop dragging the fans of this organization down!!!
