Schiano Lowers Price On New Jersey Home
November 5th, 2013Joe knows many Bucs fans are begging for Bucs commander Greg Schiano to put his house up for sale and find a new home. Joe is not one of those people. That’s not to suggest Joe thinks Schiano and his staff have done a good job. They have not. Joe likes Schiano and feels for him; a good guy caught in an awful situation (leaky Josh Freeman).
Well, Bucs fans are getting their wish. Schiano is trying hard to unload his house. His house in New Jersey, that is.
Still on the market nearly two years after taking over the helm of the Bucs, Schiano’s Jersey house is vacant, so Schiano lowered the price big time in an effort to get it off his books.
Kelly Heyboer of Newark Star-Ledger has the details on the massively reduced rate.
Schiano recently dropped the price — for the third time — on his 8,500-square-foot house near Rutgers’ football stadium, his real estate agent said. The house, which was originally listed for $2.3 million 19 months ago, is now available for $1.595 million.
“It definitely would be a bargain at the price it is now. It’s less than it cost to build it,” said Schiano’s agent, Jerry Kienlen of Kienlen Lattmann Sotheby’s International Realty in Basking Ridge.
Check out the photos on the link above. It has a way cool home theater (for film study?), a neat office and a huge kitchen.
The house, across a highway from Rutgers’ football stadium, is the most expensive house for sale in Piscataway, even after Schiano dropped the price. But be ready for a tax sticker shock. Last year, Schiano had to cough up $24,000 in real estate taxes. Ouch!

Just some friendly advice Greg, I think you better take that house off the market because you are gonna need it soon..

I’d like to know how long was Schiano’s Bucs contract and what is the salary. Does anybody know?

@JOE
How disappointing that this is your stance and now i see why schiano gets the weak questions from reporters and the readers get nothing but speculation and stupidity from every press conference…. really joe, really you think this fool saying were gonna be special once we get certain players back does anything for this fan base or even the team? with every starter out we exceeded at every position, running back, guard, safety and overall defense. this idiot coach is trying to make mike “i cant throw a deep ball without straining” Glennon look like matt ryan but he’s not hes average and blaming the qb for 0-8 is just pathetic of you
i guess you think it was the players who collapsed in the second half….the offensive players are the one’s who decided to get away from running the ball. da’quan bowers on the field play made it seem like a smart move to let go of michael bennett, cut george selvie, get rid of veteran wide outs with speed. we had a kick returner that never dropped a punt, you called him captain of the inactive list or something
this coach sucks and just because he’s been nicer and more relaxed in the first half doesnt mean crap, he’s garbage just like freeman he’s underperforming in a performanced based business so this guy threw more passes than russell wilson and ended up with less yards like EVERY week hmmm wonder why but everyone is saying glennon is better so why are we still losing? for all the drama you pushed over the freeman crap you mean you have nothing to say about this coach? nothing detailed to say about sheridan, no explanations just randoms quotes you make your own and here im thinkin your on the rise. dont throw freeman in this because everyone can say what they want but SOMEONE GOT VJACK TO THE PROBOWL LAST YEAR WHO’S GETTING TO THE PROBOWL THIS YEAR ON OFFENSE LOL YEA RIGHT WE WILL BE OVERLOOKED AGAIN BECAUSE THIS COACH IS A WANNABE
HE PUT UP HIS HOUSE BECAUSE IT DOESNT MATTER, ITS CHEAPER TO LIVE IN FLORIDA AND IT’S NOT LIKE HE’LL EVER GET TO COACH AT RUTGERS EVER AGAIN
November 5th, 2013 at 3:16 pm
Chicago didn’t go into the fetal position because they had to play their back up QB.
The man is caught up in his own ineptitude.
November 5th, 2013 at 3:31 pm
I think it’s apparent at this point that Freeman wasn’t the problem. Not the main problem anyways. The problem. is that Schiano is in way over his head. He had been outcoached and outclassed every step of the way aside from the LeGrand treatment. Go back to NJ or anywhere else.

That was a beautiful rant, thank you. 🙂
Nowhere did Joe suggest Schiano should return. Take a deep breath.

Joe, I can’t understand why you’ve gone softie on this guy. Reading your article about the Seahawks fan ribbing Schiano before the game Sunday and now this post, I’m starting to think you would consider bringing this guy back for another year if you had the choice. I understand you are trying to put positive spin on this season, especially when we as Bucs fans have to go day to day knowing we have to endure another 8 weeks of torture with Schiano on the sideline. You need to maintain as many hits on this site as you can when a lot of Bucs “fans” simply don’t care anymore.
One thing I dislike about the NFL is the short memory the media seems to have. Now that it seems Schiano has turned on the Nice Guy front we seem to forget that this storm has basically been going on for a full NFL season plus an offseason and training camp. At this point I personally do not care what this guy thinks or says anymore. He came in with an abrasive attitude, railroaded the guy who was supposed to be our QB for the next 10 years and built an offence basically around Doug Martin, and anybody with any knowledge of the NFL knows the days of the feature running back are gone or are very limited. One thing I can agree with you on is to keep Shiano around until the end of the season, no matter how hard it is to watch, but if he is allowed another season I would strongly have to question the football intelligence of the people making such decisions. And don’t get me started on Dominick.

Can’t believe a blogger would stoop so low to write up a story about Schiano’s house in NY. What a load of crap –
r.
Can’t believe a commenter would be so foolish that he can’t read that Joe’s merely sharing a story in a major New Jersey newspaper.–Joe

Please read the first graph again. Nothing new in that paragraph that Joe hasnt written several times before. No need to jump off the Skyway Bride.

PLEASE
Exactly the point….nowhere in that post article did you suggest he should return but you sure did make excuses for him. come on joe i get enough of schiano spitting in my face every week and trying to tell me its rain!!
SAYING COACH SHE AND HIS STAFF HAVENT DONE A GOOD JOE IS THE UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE BUCCANEER HISTORY…TIGHTEN UP G YOU DO ACTUALLY HAVE SMART READERS
“Joe likes Schiano and feels for him; a good guy caught in an awful situation (leaky Josh Freeman).”? SCHIANO CREATED THAT SITUATION, AS A MATTER OF FACT, IF IT WASNT FOR JOSH FREEMAN’S COMEBACK WIN IN THE SECOND GAME AGAINST CAROLINA LAST YEAR HE WOULD HAVE ONLY HAD 6 WINS AND LOOK HOW HE THANKED HIM. WE ALL KNEW NEEDED EVERY REP HE COULD GET, IF THE IDIOT COACH HAD LET HIM PLAY OUT HIS CONTRACT WE MAY HAVE HAD A WIN BY NOW WHY IS IT ALL OF A SUDDEN WE CHANGE UP THE OFFENSE AND ITS DINK AND DUNK ALL DAY LONG, AT LEAST JOSH WOULD THROW IT UP AND GIVE VJACK AND WILLIAMS A CHANCE TO GO GET IT, GLENNON IS A BETTER QUARTERBACK BUT AT THIS RATE HE WILL BARELY THROW FOR 1000 YARDS, SUCH A GULLIABLE FANBASE

@BucFan#37
I believe I read on Pewter Report he signed a 5yr/$15mil deal making $3mil/per season. Pretty decent for a first time NFL coach but far from the upper echelon on NFL coach pay scales.

That was the point of my post Joe, that I have noticed a little more of a positive light being shed on Schiano from your writing, which I completely understand. I’m no writer or journalist, but I’m sure you grow tired of writing the same thing over and over again, that being how disappointing this season has been. Personally I’m just trying to find motivation to get up on Sunday morning and watch the Bucs play (which lately has been Lavonte David; love watching that kid play!) However, I also consider myself a realist and to try and fancy all this mess up is an exercise in frustration. I am slowly coming to the resolve that the only thing to look forward to now is the inevitable changes at the end of the year and the draft. Write on Joe! Being from Canada, you have become one of my reliable sources for Bucs news, even if I may not agree all the time (Mark Dominick, I`m looking at you).

He’s probably eyeing a nice spot on South Beach where he plans on Spending some of those Glazer $Millions they’re gonna have to feed him for the next 3 years.
Win, Lose, or FIRED – He Still gets PAID

in three months you will be begging to watch any awful Bucs game.
November 5th, 2013 at 6:07 pm
buc4lyfe – just to be clear for the rest of us. When you CAP out, are you yelling. Just trying to understand.
Preach on Brother.
Oh, and Josh was horrible. VJax got himself to the probowl by catch jump balls all year. Go watch Josh’s highlight reel for 2012 and you’ll see 2 WR’s making a QB look good, not the other way around…
November 5th, 2013 at 7:23 pm
I don’t know that Schiano is “a good guy.” If he truly was filming his own sidelines to spy on his players, then he’s an a$$hole. Or if he leaked Freeman’s status. I understand that Joe has to suck up to the Bucs to a small extend or be banished, but please don’t try to tell us Schiano is a “good guy.”
November 5th, 2013 at 9:59 pm
You are correct Joe. I do miss football from early February and on, but I am Canadian, so I always got hockey. Go Habs!
November 5th, 2013 at 11:51 pm
@ Joe – my friend, I for one will not be begging for any sort of a reminder of this 2013 nightmare in 3 months! In fact, I’m anxiously awaiting the off season. I will get more enjoyment from watching the combine!
November 6th, 2013 at 12:14 am
Have you ever met him away from football? Joe has several times. Joe’s also met Rah and Chucky away from the field several times. Neither were exactly, well, charming.
Joe’s had several commenters on this site (“Eric” being one of them) mention how they met Schiano and came away impressed with his demeanor. What a guy is at work and what a guy is away from work are two different things.
Joe doesn’t have to suck up to anyone. Joe’s been told as recently as last week, as long as Joe is accurate, the organization doesn’t give a damn if Joe is negative. So much for your conspiracy theory.

Yuck!

@SKELLY
Nah I ain’t yelling that’s for the blind and simple. Joe writes a contradicting statement then says oh I didn’t say what I obviously was insinuating. Those jump balls got us 7 wins and the#9 offense in the league and oh for this that bash him he was 10th overall in passing yards. But people are gushing over glennon because if his passer rating but dude threw for 126 years mind you he has the most attempts of any quarterback since he started his first game. At this rate he’s barely gonna eclipse 1000 yards passing but keep overlooking the fact that he can’t throw downfield or if jump balls are so easy to throw why can’t he? Josh threw downfield because that idiot coach himself. We call them jump balls he called them 50/50 balls, so where did that offense disappear to since he lied and said he didn’t need to change the offense for glennon.
